  1. Greetings,

This question is for those who have recieced your NOA2 and preparing for packet 3&4 (The bank statements , transcripts of taxes, letter from employer).. . How long are the documents for proof of support good for 2 months, 6 months or ??. I'm asking because I am visiting my fiance in Aug. and on paper our case should be adjudicated in Aug (yes it could be longer). I could save the money and the worry of the documents arriveing via mail if I took the documents with me. They would be dated for the first week in Aug. Soo any advice??

    Peace,

    Chi

  2. first , happy be-lated birthday.. It's a new year to do things anyway you want... So much more indepence and strength you will find in your 30's. I was told one time that if it felt so good when you where with the wrong one , just imagine how incredible it's going to be when your with the right one.. God bless, and keep your head up, because you just might miss your next blessing. :star:

    Peace,

  3. Fresh Yams....Impossible...Customs will never allow that to pass through

Oh It was like a joke. of course he can't.. :bonk: that's just showing how much he is concern about having them readily available once he gets here.

  4. Greetings sister,

First thanks for sharing such raw details of your personal life so that we may support you and help. First, you gave enough reason for anyone to walk away with out any guilt. It seems you made up your mind with lots of help from him. Your marriage can be salvage through therapy and commitment but I feel you sometimes a person know when to fold and walk away. You mention you have a child. A young child. I feel this would be a toxic situation for your child to have to go through. Children may not know how to verbalize whats going on ,but they see and feel it all. Plus they need to know Moma will always provide a loving and sercure home for them. Finally, be patieint and true to your intuition and emotions.. You only have one life, don't be guilted into anything. Pray and pay attention to how and when God answers.

    Peace,

    Chi

  5. I've wondered about this to. My fiancee will probably get here right at the season change of summer to early fall. So I will be looking for deals this summer for coats and heavier clothing for him. I am about to lease a car this summer, mainly because we probably will relocate with in the two years and my job and house are so close barely any millage, plus we still have "old Besty" as a back up. I found a great lease for under 180.00 . I think the most expensive thing will be food. My Kingsley always stresses fresh foods. So in the fall and winter months the Community summer markets close up in the Metro-Detroit area and we will have to pay higher in the suburbs. I'm looking forward to it all, even though it's just me for a while holding it down. There will be so much more he will contribute that me and my son will really appreciate in the home that has no price. Just like others I can't wait for that second income to save and build a future back home in Nigeria or somewhere warm here, and just to take a break from it all. I just want this time to pass quickly so he can be here. I'm ready for the sacrifice.

    Peace,

    Chi

  6. Ah yes, The Ibis. One of the better hotels in Lagos state in the past, right up there with Ikoyi Hotel and Federal Palace Hotel. But we're now talking major dinero. Of course our Nigerian Queen is worth every penny but we don't want to spoil our African Price too much now do we?

It's a larger hotel for sure and you might find other expatriates there though most will prefer to be on VI or Lekki.

LOL you hit it on the head. We are genlty debating cheaper hotel to stay longer or more expensive hotel and shorter stay?? Of course my Nigerian sweetheart , is pushing towards the first choice cheaper hotel longer stay  .. and I understand, but I want it in a place where we can still move around with out a lot of taxi's and worried about saftey. I really don't like having to debate over money, so I'm checking everything out you all are sending me.. Hopefully we can find a happy medium..

    Peace,

    Chi

  7. When do you leave? I found a website that does sublets, which if you need co-mingling, this is a great way to go. We rented a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath, living room and kitchen for around $87 a night.

You have to really check prices, and see if it is something you wish to do though, as we had to purchase fuel for our gen, and that was pretty costly. If you prefer the amenities of hotels, then I don't recommend this as it won't be up to those standards.

Just another avenue to go, depending on the experience you wish to have while in Nigeria.

    thanks!!
