Well said!!! This is just a short portion of the rest of our lives. I understand frustration but some people want to use yard sticks to measure who has it worse. Before we started this process we knew ALL knew it could take 5 months to get an NOA1. Life isn't fair but you just roll with the punches. Once 5 months pass then the complaining can begin. If people can't manage to see others receive an NOA2 maybe they should take a break from VJ and stop agonizing themselves.

So, a 'live person' should look up the correct and current filing fee for you and just tell you what it is? Fees can change and the most accurate information about filing the petition would come from the USCIS website about the petition you are filing. It has nothing to do with treating you like an idiot. You can never go wrong with following the USCIS form instructions. This is a DIY website. Links to the correct information you need is a large part of the purpose of this site.

Let's face it, the system is not fair and never will be. Two years ago when I applied, CSC was approving at 2-3 months, while VSC (where I was stuck at) was approving at 6-8 months. You may also be stuck again at some slow service center or local office for your AOS, ROC, and citizenship. If there is one thing that US immigration has taught me, it is LOTS and LOTS of patience. Try not to be too frustrated - you can't change their approval rates, but you can change your outlook on this whole process and make the best of it. When this is over, you will be with your loved ones forever.
    Good luck to everyone waiting.

It's extremely odd that the police would ask for $1,000. Especially in USD. That's over 160,000 NGN. What was he stopped for? Why such a big sum. Paying a dash for traffic violations isn't out of the norm, I've had a stop or two by the Nigeria police, but $1,000 is absolutely insane.I agree with Ebunoluwa red flags!!!!!Find out what station he's located and call the national police head quartershttp://www.npf.gov.ng/contactus ask thm for the contact for the staion he's at and ask to speak with the DPO. You can also ask the national police who the DPO is at that particular station. Do not I repeat do not get the contact information from your husband or send any money. Let him handle it. Unless he committed a serious crime he should be out soon, especially once they figure out that he doesn't have any money.

After going through this process I am definitely convinced that our immigration system needs an over haul and some sort of organization. We will never know the method to the madness. It makes no sense that a December filer doesn't have their NOA2 yet a March filer has theirs.

Well In the End it is YOU as a Couple's Decision But all the effort and waiting it took to bring you on a K-1 visa would be thrown away if you move back to UK. I Suggest Applying for the GC and once approved which takes about 6-9 months take short trips to UK so you don't feel so homesick and Your spouse can revisit even if briefly what she likes so much about the uk. After you get your GC and taking short trips you can apply for citizenship through marriage( the process is currently like 6 months) in only 3 years time and after that you guys can LIVE in the UK BUT you can come and go from the US as you please. She will probably want to come back to the states after awhile and regret that you will have to be separated as the K-1 process would have to be redone. think about the FUTURE not about right now. Wish You guys the best!

I assume that you're referring to number 34a on the I-129 F form . Your relationship was initiated through social media therefore you should indicate so. Your contact on social meeting gave you purpose for traveling to the DR was to meet him. Without the contact via social media you would have not traveled to the DR to meet him. Just write a brief summary about the development of your relationship. My explanation was a single paragraph. As the poster above indicated the meeting would fulfill the requirements for meeting in person two years before the petition is filed.

We all want our loved ones by our sides however, when we all started this process we ALL knew that if could take 5 months for our paper work to process. If anyone thinks that they genuinely had reason for an expedited case that should have been requested at the time of submission of the I-129F. I'm sure there is an option to call USCIS and discuss the matter with an official. Once that 5 months has passed then we can start complaining. Remember that the people on visa journey represent a small fraction of people applying for visas. People from the Philippines are not the only people getting their Noa2's faster than normal check the trends for other months. There are several people who petitioned in January and already have their NOA2's. From what I've read TSC seems to be a slower service center. Again we all knew what we were going to be dealing with. All we can do is wait. If seeing the approvals is driving some of you crazy maybe you need to take a break from VJ and just wait for your text message, email, or snail mail correspondence from USCIS. Please take a chill pill.

You know you could try to expedite your petition, right? Provide medical documentation and all that? I'm sorry you're having a genuine hard time, but that doesn't give you blanket permission to piss on other people. I hope you never know what it's like to live in the middle of a humanitarian disaster. Who said anything about net benefit to all? It's supposed to benefit the needy. If the rest of us have to suck it up for a bit, really, that's just basic human decency. Shooting and throwing in cages? Alrighty... By the way, the standard in Portugal is a dream for a very large portion of the world.
