Being Military does not make you a saint! I live in an area with one of the largest population of military in the country and let me tell you, no person, fighting for the country or not, is without fault. One of my best friends is a JAG officer, military people are in jail here for being child molesters, abusers, rapists, and more! Some of them officers! Spare us the guilt trip....
She is seeking advice, all we can do is take her at her word and steer her in the right direction.

Being a soldier and risking his life doesn't excuse abuse. Of course people are advising off her side of the story, what else would they do? That is the case for every single post here. Posters have to assume what is being said is true in order to give advice. I'm not sure where your hostility is coming from in calling her out as ridiculous and horrible based on ... the idea that she COULD be lying? We all could be, you included. But unless her spouse comes here to defend himself we will have to assume what she says is true. And it does read like a classic abusive relationship.

I'm sure you would believe his side because that is what is going on right now. But actually his side is heard and mine is silent. That's why I'm still here with no papers.

I stand corrected.
I hereby profess a thousand apologies to Idahoians. Furthermore, I shall consume a bushel load of your finest potato(e)s in respect of my juvenile, delinquent and rather rash disregard of your most humble flyover state. Idaho produces nothing but the finest of all Americans, though none has been a President but there's still time though as it's only been a short 236 years.
For my Utah brethrens, a question, is it true then?

Get over yourself, freedom of speech is a European concept you imported.
Damn, did he make those big American cry? Shame on him!

Therefore, we have to try the other solution. Wow, just wow.
And where did racism came from? I'll have you know I am not racist, I hate everyone without discrimination.

I can speak freely anywhere at any time, it's why we were given a mouth. Anyways, like I stated before, people are only stating their opinions and points of views. Nobody is "Bashing" anybody or anything, they are simply opinions. I'm sure there is a difference between bashing and opinion. With the replies filled with CAPS and curse words and anger I'm seeing only proves my point and that of other members further.

Your reply to my post proves my point about American women. We're all just stating our opinions and points of views.

I disagree. It's exactly this attitude, Americans thinking that America is the "new world" make most people hate America and/or Americans. I believe its simply called love and when two people are in love they plan their life together and decide which one is the best for them. I know hundreds of people who married American citizens and came to the US and they miss their motherland terribly. They spend fortunes going back and forth to visit their parents, siblings and loved ones.
I also would like to set it straight, that not all US Citizens are native Americans. Most US citizens here you see, are marrying from Pakistan, India, Turkey, Africa or whatever are actually just marrying their natives.
At one time being an American was an exception. It is no more. Not after bombing of all those lands in the name of democracy.
I would stop thinking that being in America was so hot. It is not!
Mostly everyone here is just looking for a soul-mate and hoping that they found the right one.
There are some just doing it maybe to get away from their poverty stricken countries. But think about it, if you were British they would do it to go to GB, or German they'd do it to go to Germany and it goes on. This should not make you think that America is hot, This makes me think that the lives and cultures in other countries and how they must cope with life having just enough to get by or not having anything at all. This is not an excuse for their lies but this gives us something to think about and try to pick the right person.
I also read many posts here where American men kept choosing foreign women to marry. Some admitted that they filed, once, twice, three times. All for fiancees from other countries. If the first two didn't work out, why did they do it again third time?
Doesn't this make you wonder why American men turn elsewhere?
I am curious.

I don't know if there is such a ranking. If there is, I'm assuming the US, Canada, Western Europe, Australia, NZ and parts of east Asia top it.
I tried getting my wife to Norway a while ago. They wanted a $1,000 filling fee, an affidavit from me of $40,000 annually for the past three years and 6 months processing time. Bureaucracy is bureaucracy.

Come on, how you did not know she was married? Are you sure you're not trying to have her deported because she is living the American dream? It sounds like a jealous husband's rage...After all, why should she have your kid if she were trying to fraud you?

This thread is becoming useless.
Everyone here is conjecturing about what happened at LAX. We will never know what happened because none of us were there.
The OP is not fully disclosing his case. AP????? Come on folks, there is something more here than what has been disclosed.
Normal everyday South Koreans do not suffer through AP. South Korea is a VWP country which means the level of fraud is so low, the US doesn't even screen S.K. nationals before they arrive at a POE. Why the need for AP in South Korea?
The US government has the right to question any foreigner at a POE and refuse entry. A K-1 visa does not guarantee entry - the US government does not promise entry.
What a scared frighten person may characterize as an interrogation, another person can characterize as a conversation. We will never know what happened because we were not there, and we are only getting a partial view from the US citizen who wasn't even in the room. All we are getting is second hand information from the US fiancee about what his non-English speaking fiancee said happened.
To a non-English speaking foreigner, it may seem like an interrogation when asked about the reasons behind the AP. Look at her characterization of the situation through her eyes. She is not a native English speaker who is familiarized with US mannerisms. (Hell, I have tried for 20 years to get my Vietnamese relatives to understand my American manners, and they still don't understand.) To an English speaking American, the situation may be characterize differently. As the old saying goes - there are as many sides to a story as there are the number of people. Everyone perceives the situation differently depending upon culture and English skills.
In Vietnam, it is a big deal and it is considered rude for me to correct an elder. In the US, it is not a big deal at all and not considered rude. Culture and language makes a difference in how a person perceive a situation. This is especially true when it's an unfamiliar and high stress situation.
I don't understand the outrage when all we are getting are incomplete information that is second hands through the eyes of a non-English foreigner with an AP problem. There is more to this than we will ever know.

I'm sorry to seem rude, but if you can't speak Korean and your wife not good English, how do you communicate?
-
UK_Fan reacted to jaycali in Wife did not make it past homeland and got k-1 cancelled
A Korean lawyer won't be able to help you nearly as well as a qualified American lawyer will. There are tons of Korean speaking lawyers in the LA area, it might be a good thing to search for a Korean speakign one in LA.
It could very well be a misunderstanding related to fiancee/wife. What I'm suspecting also is the language barrier. One of the major red flags in K-1 visa applications is a lack of common language between the beneficiary and petitioner. This can be a killer at any interview, but the problems COs often face is that only the beneficiary is present at the interview - It's often impossible for the CO to know or verify whether they in fact do share a language. If it comes up at the POE that the couple don't share a common language it can set off alarm bells previously gone unnoticed by the CO. This would explain why they're asking about the OP's family and house - Mixing up fiancee/wife wouldn't set off alarms for a sham marriage, but rather using the wrong visa. Not sharing a common language would set off sham marriage alarms. And this could go completely unnoticed by both USCIS and the interviewing CO.
OP, is your native language English?

If she had his wedding band with her, maybe she was wearing hers. CBP sees that on a K1, "is your husband here to pick you up?" "Yes, my husband"

UK_Fan reacted to MikelanNida in How much do you send to your wife's family monthly ?
If your wife is not working, stop sending money till you get caught up, If she is working then she should pay half the bills, then send money with what she has left. If she can understand her families situation, surely she can understand yours too. Ask yourself how they survived before you too married, good luck.
-
UK_Fan reacted to Therealworld in How much do you send to your wife's family monthly ?
You are just going to have to stop. You are married to her not the family. They are not ur responsibility. This is the trick that some families play. Once someone gets to the states they expect that person to support the whole family and then some. They must learn to remember that you have to survive here in the states that is not cheap as well. If you dont put ur foot down it will continue. Why should they be self supporting when you and your wife are supporting them?

UK_Fan reacted to Olomi_811 in Irritated with American attitudes when ending a marriage
Nothing irks me more than seeing "CAN I SEND THEM BACK?" or some variation of this. I admit with all the fees you pay the immigration process can feel like modern day slave trade. Know what you want, know who you are, and know who you are marrying before you dive into visa waters. Yes, some of our significant others come from economically struggling countries and others whose countries fair far better than the US. Your spouse is not an expensive shirt that you tuck the tag in, wear for a night, and return the next day. My husband is fine where he is and it touches me to hear him pray for the betterment of his country and the people. Our spouses are perfectly capable of sustaining themselves in their home country. If you examine the circumstances the quality of life may be somewhat advanced in the US, but the quantity you pay is the same. Your spouse's life is changed as well as their family's. Some of them endure ridicule and negativity, because they married you and not a fellow countryman.
