I wouldn't set one foot out of the country myself! Most peoples' GC's are getting approved so quickly these days that I don't think it's worth the risk if you've overstayed. Just my 2 cents...
-
OK, so it wasn't that short ... I'm away to get drunk!!!
Congratulations!!! I knew it would go smoothly for you! Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Checked your list, Eli- looking good!
Cheers Kim,
Given our 15 year age gap and my previous greencard we might get extra grilled. Still, nothing illegal involved with either having an age gap or having a greencard 15 years and deciding to return to Ireland.
I hope I can find a shirt and tie tonight.

You are good to go! Better to be overprepared - you have more than enough evidence and I hope you don't have to use it all! You will be just fine and honestly, the anticipation is much worse than the interview! Be confident, although nerves are good though since they keep you on your toes! Also, remember that they don't always ask the things we 'think' they are goingto ask- sometimes it's just the obvious...so don't forget your wife's date of birth, etc!!! You'll do great! Relax and think of Ireland!!! Good luck, mate!

If you go by T - go to North Station. Make a left once you get outside and it's two streets down - about four or five minutes all in all.

be careful. the IO's like to see pictures of the wedding and reception and like to see family members in the photos.
Yes, but just remember that not everyone has that type of wedding...We, like many others just went on down to City Hall - nobody was with us and we don't even have photos, shock horror!

Hello Everybody,
I am a US Citizen. My husband is a F1-student visa. We filed form I485 and got back a Notice of Action-Rejection Notice. It said the reason our form was rejected is "Invalid Part2 Application Type Other Basis of Eligibility".
We checked box "h: Other basis of eligibility" with an explaination :"Spouse of U.S.Citizen". Did we check the wrong box? Should we check box "a" instead? Since we filed form I-130 concurrent with form I-485, it does not sound right for us to check box "a" which states "An immigrant petition giving me an available visa number that has been approved".
Would someone please help us with this matter.
Besides, my husband has to maintain his F1-visa tatus until when?
PS: Our I-130 was received and cash
Thank you very much for your advice
You should have checked (a). The I-130 that you filled out would give you a priority visa number so to speak since you are an immediate relative to a USC. That's why you file concurrently if you are already in the U.S. I have to run since my toddler needs me, but I hope that explains a little...

Thanks and many congratulations, Rosie! How funny that we were on almost the exact same time schedule!!!
-
Yay! I passed my Road test today! Glad that's out of the way now, too!
Canadian - where are you?! I'm hanging out with you here til your approval comes!
-
Who is up next? Barrowboy?!
-
Rosie was right!!! The much coveted Green Card just arrived in the mail!!!!!!!! WoooooHooooo! Just 11 days after my interview and here it is! I am very, very happy indeed. Who says Friday the 13th is unlucky!
-
Oh boy...what an azzhole! Congratulations anyway, the main thing is you were approved!
-
How strange...I just got an e-mail from CRIS saying that they sent an Approval notice today, 3/12. I already received an approval notice and Welcome to America, so what are they talking about? I've had it all week!
The Aprroval Notice is Form I-797D, which is the form that contains the card!! They just mailed you the Card!! Whoo Hoo!!
Are you serious?!!! WoooHoooooo! That would be FABULOUS! I hope you're right, Rosie - come to think of it, you must be because I got the same "we sent an approval..." and it was actually my EAD! Yay!

Just dropping by to say our interview is tomorrow! I think we've got everything put together and aren't expecting trouble, but it's hard not to be nervous anyway...
We'll report back soon with (hopefully) the good news!
Hope you guys are all doing well!
Good luck, you guys!
Just a quick question, our case was mailed Oct 16. He received his EAD and AP in early January. His AOS is still pending, no interview date, no changes nothing. It is at the California center and he came on a K-1 visa.I have noticed a lot of ppl who filed the same time, after us have received their green cards/had their interview.
Do you think it is too early to schedule an infopass appointment to check on his status?
You watch, a GC will suddenly pop up in the mail when you least expect it!
-
What's the question?
-
You are "Pending AOS" (at least that's what I wrote!) Someone else may be able to chime in but it worked for me...
-
You just write "NONE" if you don't have one. Don't leave it blank! Visa Waiver doesn't have an Alien number...
-
Thanks a lot Beantownbabe.
I just thought that maybe, if the decision is not made on the spot, it would be better for them to have MORE evidence while browsing at the case afterwards.
So I guess I will just give them what they specifically ask...
Let me know if anyone thinks differently.
My interviewer specifically asked for what he needed - a bank statement or something with both our names on. They know exactly what they are looking for and all the other stuff we brought just made us feel more confident but was never so much as looked at. Personally, I don't feel like you need a boatload of things and in our case, as soon as I gave him what he asked for I did not volunteer anything else from the pile. We were approved on the spot! Good luck!I just took it as a good sign that he was asking for so little! I feel like if that was all that was needed, then why bog it down with more! They love the financial side of things, so joint bank account, insurance stuff goes a long way...Good luck tomorrow!

Hi everyone , we just got back from the interview, she ask many questions such as, where we met, when , who was there. parents met each other or not, how they call me like if i have a nickname? showed our pictures including utility bills on our names, car insurance, she took some pictures out of the album and bills in our names. asked about religion because i m Muslim and my wife 's Christian. we said we dont have problems regarding about religion and cultur difference. She started asking questions if i have ever been arrested, had any problems with immigration nor deported, if i register to vote, and similar things like that they ask you at the end of interview. She asked for my passport and EAD and I94 and looked at it, but gave it back to me
and we signed a paper. At the end she said she will review the case and get back to us in the mail. I asked her if there is any missing papers in our file nor any problems she repeated " i will review your case and get back to you in the mail" and we said thank you and left. my wife is so nervous about this we think we are gonna be called for a second interview. But this is my opinion because she didn't take EAD or I94,
So what do you think what happens

Hey guys!!!I think we got approved:)
the interview was overall good.We swore in first and then she went through some questions on the petions. She asked my husband for his birth certificate and my license.then asked me why i got a duplicate license.i told her we just moved so she updated my application.then she asked my husband his birthday to confirm and asked me to confirm my birthday and where i was born.she asked if we have kids.she asked if my husband has petioned for anybody before.she asked me if anybody petioned for me before and i told her i had a greencard when i was a baby through my mom and also later on i was on my moms petition as beneficery.she asked my husband if he has ever seen my baby picture.(i was like what the hell:P)he said yes.i thought she wanted to make sure that he prepared the folders with me since i had a copy of my green card that i had when i was a baby.so then she shows him a paper "have you seen this one before?"i looked at i was like "wow i didn't even see that one".so yea it was the application that was put in for me when i was like a month old and that was the pic.then she asked when my F1 visa expires i said it expired already, actually it expired while i was entering the us but i was given a visa waiver.so i handed that to her.(i know i was very very lucky)then she asked about the opt i told her that expired this january and i have the EAD based on the I-485.so then she asked my husband how did you make the decisioin to marry me.man my husband froze for a second(he doesnt really like talking other people how he feels;P)so at this mometn i had a big smile on my face.then he was like well i love her, she makes me feel very good, when the times are hard she is there for me..i was like "aww" and he was kinda getting red:)so then she was like thats good but what was that moment that spark made you ask her.so he started "well when we were living together at Gainesville we were deciding where to move.i wanted jacksonville, she wanted naples.so we ended up in naples:)after we move i realized even though i dont like naples,i'm very happy with her.so I realized it didn't matter where I am as long as I am with her and that's when I decided to ask her to marry me" I had this huge smile.then she turned to me and said "see I'm asking that for your benefit"I said it is nice to hear things like that
))then she said "well I have one problem with your case"an dmy heart dropped (i saw a tab saying no info in my folder).she said my medical wasn't completed all the way by the doctor ,the doctor signed and dated but didn't put his name or the hospital's name.and he didn't include my xray copy.so she said that's the only thing holding your case to process, once we get that the card will be in the mail (at least this is what I heard:P)so she said ssincfe you live all the way in naples you don't need to ocme back you can just mail that document or if you prefer to come then your case will be processed that day.so i asked if there is gonna be second interview and she said no all we need is the medical to be signed and the report for the xray.so then she asked for the stuff we have our names on it and i started to hand all these copies and bills.she said i dont need all of them just the copies i can take.i said they are all copies for you:)then she asked about the photos i showed her the album i made since the day we started.then she asked to keep some of them i said you can take whichever you prefer but she said i rather you choose..then i was handign some of them explaining "this was our first kiss" she was like "u sure u wanna give me that pic?" "I was like no actually I don't
"then my husban and I chose some pics while she was updating everything.then she was like well you have a very big folder (they had everything from my old cases also).she was gonna have us wait to give this notice saying i need to resubmit the medical and how but then she was nice ands aid well you waited enough i'll just give you this copy.then she sshook our hands and said she will still mail us a notice giving a time for us to bring the medical or to send the medical by that date.then she walked out with us and said drive safe:)now I am happy it wasn't my fault but I am pissed about this medical thing.I mean these doctors are the ones that do this kind of stuff all the time and he had to make a mistake on mine.and why I have never gotten a REF about this I have no idea.at least when they asked me to fo to infopass last week (by msitake!!!!) they should have told me or something.so now I am waiting for the notice and then I don't know if I will take it over there or just overnight the medical.
so I am so happy that this thing is over at least we are done with our interview.but still I can't jump up and down untill I get that approved notice or the card .
I want to thank you all for all your support.
Congratulations! (Doesn't that just want to make you spit though, that someone ELSE made a mistake?!!!)

Congratulations, everybody! Rosie/Kimcorene won't have any work to do for us pretty soon with all the GC's flying around here!
CanadianMade - I was going to ask if there is any news, but I guess you'd be on here screaming from the rafters if there were, *sigh* Sorry, mate. Didn't I read somewhere that they have 60 days to give you at least a response? Maybe I'm wrong or misread. How long is it now?
