Finally, it's my turn! I just got the text and email that my card was ordered! Happy June!
-
I made an appointment for planned parenthood, and since i don't work they take whatever cash you can come up with. Will i get in trouble for using their services and it effect getting my green card?
You will be fine! Going to Planned Parenthood will not affect you in any way. I used them too before I had insurance. There is no real reason for it to come up with USCIS either.
-
Happy to see all the approvals! Where is mine though?!!! I had halfway forgotten about all this stuff until recently when I realized I haven't heard anything yet! Congratulations everyone!!! Oh well, back to waiting quietly
-
Why no appprovals for VSC filers?
They are saving the best for last!!! Congratulations everyone with approvals!
Rosie, when will we "see" each other again?!
-
I think they have made it easier! You simply input the number on your ASC letter...I was able to do it as soon as I received mine, but I remember it was the same when we were doing the AOS - some people could track and some couldn't. Hope you get it sorted!
-
My biometrics appointment was this morning. I got there early and they just took me right in, with hardly a wait. I had only just finished filling out the paperwork before they called me!

Looks like the package was received on Friday! At least it got there okay!
Canadianmade - don't worry about it, a little chit-chat along the way makes this board a lot less boring while we are waiting for arrivals, notices, appointments etc! There is most definitely a lot of bonding that goes on in these forums as you well know from when we were Oct. '08 filers! You, for one had a rough ride in this process and we were all there with you! Chat away - they'll just ban us if we're a problem!!!
-
Hey Beantown how are you? I am doing great and the wife is great too no complaints. I was snooping around the other day and saw some familar people so I thought I would drop in and say hi. I will be in this stage in the next few months, May 10 2011 to be exact will be my window to file thanks to a certain somebody I should technically be filing around this time or the next 2 months but my process is way pushed behind. Oh yeah I am hear cheering you guys on because this will be me in the next few months. Good luck to you and good job on mailing your package. Oh yeah how is the baby?
Trust me, May will come around in no time at all! The good thing is that we were all approved and we can ALL be in this position of filing to remove conditions. A few months doesn't make much difference at this point in the game, since Life has just been happily moving along regardless! The next step will be super smooth for you, just watch! Thanks for asking about my daughter, she's wonderful, feisty and doing great! Kimcorene had a baby while we were adjusting status, didn't she? I wonder how she is doing? I don't remember when she received her approval or if she'll be a December filer also. Rosie, do you remember?
-
Okay, so the package is finally in the mail and the wait begins. I'm way less stressed about things this time around.
Canadianmade! Great to see you! I was thinking about you the other day when I was here and didn't expect to see you because of your loooooooong ordeal - didn't realize you'd be here cheering us on! Hope life (and wife!) have been treating you well!!!
Rosie, the check is the first step! Good for you, now you'll be watching the mailbox like a hawk!
I went to a friend's Citizenship ceremony back in the Summer and couldn't help but imagine what it will be like! Funny though, as soon as they were sworn in and had officially become Citizens, there were people outside handing them papers to register to vote, etc! The ceremony was very nice...
-
Hey all!
Nice to see some familiar people here! Rosie - good to see you! Hope all has been going well! Hope the move went smoothly and life is treating you great!
I'll be sending my packet in probably on Tuesday, it's been ready a while but I was so nervous not to jump the gun and have it returned!!!

DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have some good news for everyone. I finally got APPROVED for my green card, its about damn time after fighting with USCIS for over 10 months. Look at my timeline, I have been jerked around by them for months and months. My wife and I are so damn excited by the news, I found out that I got APPROVED at work today at 7pm on my blackberry, I thought it was another junk email, but when I seen CRIS, I was in total shock and didnt know what to think honestly, I thought I was dreaming. Anyways I know how it feels to go through such a long journey and going through the ####### with USCIS, I am a living testament to it. To everyone who have checked up on me and routed me on, thank you very very much I appreciate it and for those who are waiting and thinking it is hopeless it isnt, your time will come and I guess today was that day for me. Good luck to everyone and will still be on here checking up on everyone and see you guys in 2yrs. USCIS free for 2yrs yea.

Just checking in- I gave birth to a beautiful little girl on June 1st!My hands are full right now- literally and figuratively, lol.
Kimcorene - I was just asking about you! Congratulations! Isn't Mama-hood wonderful...and exhausting, etc...Congrats, congrats, congrats!!!
-
Hey Everyone!
It has been so long since I was on here, can't even remember the last time! Congratulations everyone on approvals, GC's and the like. Special congratulations to Eli with the new baby news - talking of which - any baby yet for Kimcorene?! Also, hope the move went well, Rosie!
Well, I'm pleased to say that we just got back from a month in the U.K which was fabulous!!! The GC actually works, since they really did let me back in with no problems whatsoever! Yay! They scanned my prints again, which they claim "is a new thing for GC holders" but still...A great time was had by all!
Take care everyone!
-
Yes, the I-864 goes with the packet but they don't pay $70 from what I can remember. The total fee should be $1,010 and the $355 for the work permit. Wish 'em luck!
-
Hey, guys- just to update, I got my card yesterday- all shiny and new
Congratulations, Kimcorene! Don't fall asleep holding it!!!
-
Hello everyone, I have heard from people that proving your marriage is bonafide is easier if both partners have a child born to both of them. How true is this? I am adjusting AOS from F1 and my wife and I have a beautiful two month old baby.
Ha ha - we took our fiesty (then) 21 month old to the interview in March. Yup a slam dunk indeed, I saw the guy stamp our approval at the very beginning of the interview! Good luck!
-
Thanks, guys. I had a class today, so I didn't get in til just now. Anyway, here are the intricate details: We got there at about 12- we left home early, lol and hung out in the car for a bit. I needed to use the restgroom, so we decided to go in about 40 mins early. The security guards told us we need to wait til at least 12:30 before we could go in. Anyway, I got to use the restroom and we went back to the car. When we returned, they did the whole X-raying and stuff and sent us to the reception counter (there are two lines- one for Infopass, another for interview). They scanned the interview letter and sent us in to the waiting room. There were quite a few couples there waiting, along with people waiting for Info[####. In any event, we waited for about 30 minutes-with my husband keeping me entertained as usual, lol, though I did laugh a little loudly a few times,
.
We finally heard my name and both my names were actually pronounced correctly,
. We had a female IO and first she stopped at the copy machine in the hallway and asked for our driver licenses to make a copy. We then proceeded to her office- yes, an office- not a cubicle, like some places. She asked us for proof of citizenship, my social security card and birth certificate and just verified the originals of all the stuff we had submitted. She also asked for Hubby's W2s for 2007 which we didn't have, so I offered our 2008 tax return, W2 and pay stubs for the past three months. While she's punching all this stuff and adding it to our file, she asked me how we met. She also asked about the type of visa I came on, my internship and the place I did it. She also asked if I had completed the two yr requirement- I gave her the waiver approval (which she kept).
We were then asked for proof of shared life. We gave her all copies of our joint stuff- bank statementS, health and car insurance, etc, lease, bills. Which she didn't look at, just punched it and put it in the file. She asked if either of us had been previously married, any children other than the one we are currently expecting and all the yes/no questions from the I-485.
Then she asked to see pictures and I asked what kind did she want to see. She asked what kind we have and hubby says "well, we have three albums". We gave her all three and she looked at a few wedding pics. Her reaction was "Oh, a real wedding. All we see is courthouse weddings."
So she looked at probably three pages and asked if I had copies. I told her there were already copies in the file, but we had a couple loose ones, which we offered. She pointed to a pic with both of us and my aunt and asked whose mom that was, and I said, that's my aunt. She also asked Hubby to show her his family in the pics. She also asked where we honeymooned.
After that she verified our address and compared it to what she had in her system and asked to which did we want the card sent
. Then it was housekeeping- she gave me the approval letter and the letter saying we had been notified about removing conditions, which we both signed. And that was it,
As an aside, when we were putting back the albums in the bag, I had to remove all the letters and cards we had brought to make room. When she saw that she was like "Wow, you certainly brought a lot of documents. You were well prepared- one of the few." So, anyone with upcoming interviews- it's better to be over-prepared.
Congratulations!!! Looks like a very straightforward interview, and you came out smiling! Again, congratulations now you can focus solely on baby girl!!!
-
Kimcorene,
Hope your interview goes smooth today!
Thanks, guys. We spent today at church (as always) and hubby wanted to practice some questions, but when we got back we got sidetracked with putting together baby furniture we bought yesterday,
, so we didn't get that done. But, we aren't nervous or anything- hopefully all that free time tomorrow morning wont find me panicking,
.
Good luck today Kimcorene on your interview and hope you bring us back an approval
Sending Approval vibes your way!
Canadianmade - did you ever take your road test? I was just looking at your timeline...Just curious!!!
Hey Beantownbabe no I havent taken the road test yet, I dont think I am ready yet for it, need to practice more. Still waiting to hear word about the interview, isnt it ridiculous or what. 55 days and still nothing.
Absolutely unbelievable! I just keep heaving huge sighs each time I read that there is no news and you are still counting the days. I don't remember - did you call anyone at USCIS yet? Get practicing your driving skills in the meantime!

Hi Folks,
I received my Green Card this morning in the mail. Kinda groovy looking with a big metallic strip across the back and a wee envelope to store it in. I think I'll photocopy it and bring that around with me rather than the card - I know I'd loose it.
Good luck to all those still waiting.
Here's to 2011.

Congrats! When I got mine, I wished it were EVEN more groovy looking! I think I fell asleep holding it one night, I was so happy to have it - I just kept getting it out to sneak a peak!
Kimcorene - good luck for the interview! I'm sure it will be a breeze!
