I moved over to the States because my husband was on a career track in the States that he couldn't follow in the UK. Also, I wasn't in a career which I was happy with, and I fancied a change of scenery. However like Holly and Patrick, I would prefer to raise my children back home, so I see us moving across the pond in the next few years. It's only fair after all

At the time I had my AoS interview, I came directly from work as a sign twirler at Kentucky Fried Chicken and wore my chicken costume. I took the chicken head off when entering the building and straightened my hair and it all went pretty well.

Thanks for your replies guys! It worked out, our case was sent for review and closed two weeks later without us having to send in anything else. So apparently the person who was doing the initial review of our ds 230 must have made a mistake. It caused a slight delay at the NVC but our case was closed last Friday, so it all worked out

I'm so sorry to hear you are so torn up. All I can suggest would be to take away the excitement of the upcoming interview and consider how you would respond if you found yourself in this situation at the beginning of the relationship. I think we all find that marrying someone from a different country is full of unexpected cultural differences, but we should never be in a situation in which we are not comfortable.
I'm sure you will make the right decision!

Just to update everyone, we decided to go for it and I went over for 2 weeks, we had no problems and had a wonderful time together, good luck everyone!
