    Mandy_Amro got a reaction from Bob_B in K1 Process after NOA2
    1. "Two weeks after you receive the NOA2 you can contact the NVC to see if they have received your approved I-129F. You can contact them at 603 334-0700." Check this link #5. http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow You can even call to check after 1 week. I did, and they had my petition
2.,3. Check this link for packet 3/4. Look for the UAE consulate: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=United Arab Emirates&cty=Abu Dhabi
It is mailed from the embassy. It should come to the beneficiary but I have seen UAE cases where it goes to the petitioner. It is from the embassy.
    4. Your fiancé can start gathering forms now to send to you. Check this link: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide Look under the section called "What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2)"
5., 6. Packet 3 will contain a list of Drs you can see or check here again: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=United Arab Emirates&cty=Abu Dhabi Once you contact the NVC in about 1-2 weeks they will give you a case number. Use that case number for the Medical. Tell them your receiving a medical exam for a visa. They will know what tests to do, and what vaccinations to give.
I really hope I could help. Let me know if you need any more info.

What?? No that's not what its about at all..... She got very lucky.. OP: This easily could have been a case of uprooting someone who changed their life to come be with you in a new country only to have you say "sorry, I made a mistake.. I led you and myself on for 8+months.. I'm bailing so it sucks to be you" ..... you did wait three whole days.. You could have ended up ruining someones life, instead you got lucky because your choice turned out to be dog who deserved it so it saved you having guilt.

i think the income requirements should be higher to marry because this is not a cheap process. Supporting family is expensive in USA. Some people make a little money and save a lot. Some people make a lot of money and save none. Both these people could qualify. I think people need to love themselves and value themselves before they can love another person. I think any people choosing to get married need to be able to depend on each other to be provided for. I think 18000 is not enough money to live in most of USA. In Egypt I would be rich!! I think if you love someone then you try and make sure you can provide for them.
I am against co-sponsers. If you cannot afford a spouse then do not get one right now. Love will not pay your bills. Love will not fee the children. I think co-sponsors place responsibility onto a kind hearted person and in the usa at least 40% of marriage fail. This is very dangerous for the kind co-sponsor who just wanted to help a couple in love be together.
I think everyone needs to meet in person many times. Not just once within 2 years. I think it should be 3 times in 2 years.
But, I think this process needs to be quicker once all those rules are in place. I feel the 6 month wait for uscis is a waste of my time and money...and I value both. I pay for a service today and I want that service delivered soon. I do not want it to sit in a pile waiting for someone to decide to pick it up. It takes an hour to go thru a completed packet and approved it. USCIS needs to have higher productivity levels or get new employees. Many people need jobs right now and I bet if they advertised work from home positions many of our foreigner spouses would excel in this area. Since we have all been thru this nad know how important it is then I believe we would work hard and quick to approve or deny cases. I believe uscis should have a salary tier. If you complete 7 applications in one day you will get 140 dollars. if you complete 10 in one day then you will get 200 dollars. if you are only able to complete 1 in a day then you do not get paid till you have a day over 7. I think people would work much harder if they know they will get 20 bucks for each completed application (and that is denied or approved).

Why? You have listed no good reasons. All you did was make up some statistics.
I'm sorry, you have to realize you're a part of a forum full of people still going through the process and still finding it very difficult, stressful and emotionally draining. To have someone who is finished come on and say for no good reason that the process should be made even MORE difficult is a bit of a slap in the face, I imagine.

It's not like you just joined the accounts immediately prior to filing. I would not include a letter at all. If they ask you to explain later, explain then.

This post makes me aware how old and old-fashioned I personally am. I would not even consider an intimate relationship with a married woman, as I consider adultery not a desirable trait for any spouse. That in turn prevents me from such unfortunate experiences and protects me from husbands who may not find it funny that I'm making out with their lawfully wedded wife.
    But that's just me.

Your fiancee does not need you in there holding her hand micro managing it all. Go grab a coffee and calm down before the Med Center e-mails the Embassy complaining about you.
    Good Luck.

How is it you thought you were going in? I know of at least one time you posted about the medical at SLEC and how you planned to go in and I remember commenting that you should not expect to go in because its too crowded usually for anyone except the applicants, and so did so many others who have been through the experience or who have read the posts indicating that you will not be going in. Or am I thinking of some other poster?
Guess I'm confused as to why you thought you would get in after you were told by so many here on VJ long before and then get so upset when you couldn't get in?

Mandy_Amro reacted to rostov007 in USCIS should be privatized
The process will not speed up if privatized, because as a rule corporations in the US attempt to achieve higher profits by lowering their universally largest expense, labor. The reason it takes 5 months from file to embassy is a 5 month pile of files on their desks waiting to be worked. What they need, in an ideal world, is more labor not less.
Also, keeping the profit motive from the award of a visa is a great thing. Can you imagine how much corruption would creep in if the company running it was paid on the number of Visas processed? Osama bin Laden would probably have gotten one. Just look at the privatization of prisons. In one case from the top of my head, the CEO of the prison company paid a judge to send him more prisoners, people who would otherwise have gotten fines suddenly started going to jail.
The reason the US Visa process is above reproach is strict ethical guidelines and no profit motive. If you want it to move faster, lobby your Senator and Congressmen to increase the NVC, USCIS, FBI, etc. budgets. Until then, wait in line like everyone else.
    IMHO

im sorry for this unsolicited comment.. sparky is right, it is not safe to pass money to your fiance in public, if there is no way to do it privately, you must learn how to do it very discretely, especially here in the phils... and i second, you should trust your fiance more with handling money..
and with your rant about the clinic's policy and the beggars, and all complains that irritates you about the Philippines.. please remind yourself that you are in a foreign country, PH is different from america, i know there are so many flaws in the Philippine system.. if you cannot embrace the things about the country, at least understand well that you are not in your homeland where you have access to what u need or exercise or over-exercise your rights.. im sorry but i just hate it when i see people complaining without even trying to understand the situation.. i acknowledge your disappointment but you could have reacted in a nicer way or you could have even went back to your hotel room while your girl is in the clinic since phones are not prohibited inside...
on a lighter note, this is why Filipinos are very patient and very understanding...
I guess the Philippines is just teaching you how to be more patient and more understanding and even more tolerating...
i just wish more than changing the system, you realize what you can learn while you have to deal with the system...

    Hmmmmmm....Questions please.
    1) Did you offer a tip to the guard? Did you offer to buy a seat inside?
    2) Why did you feel/think you were in danger?
(I chilled outside during the first day sputum. Bought some drinks and snacks from a few peddlers. Glad they were there. Visited with a lolo hawking smokes, pens, passport photo's and other supplies. He chased off a few beggars for me. )
    3) I doubt most VJ's think the Kano will be allowed inside. Why no "plan B"?
(I read your email correspondence but I also know/knew that most Kano's are not allowed in. I rode the taxi to drop asawa ko off and went back to the hotel.)
(Have you ever heard the saying...don't piss off the waitress until your finished eating...? The lolo I mention told me there are 150-200 people showing up every day..just for the sputum. Your cash helps get your visa and happy life together. The cost is insignificant. I'm sure St. Lukes doesn't put much value on 1 Kano's wad of cash either. Do you think Sam Walton rolls in his grave over 1 irate customer?)
Stay focused and enjoy your time with your fiancee's family. Don't forget, if you pull this off, it will be a long time before they see their daughter again as she will be on the other side of the world with you.
    Hang in there.

Assuming that you go along with it, get your own attorney to have it checked. It is not so uncommon to have such a contract (pre nuptial agreement) here. As far fetched as this would sound, it could be a condition in the parents will (that is; for him to inherit, that if he was married a pre nup was executed.) Or it could also be that his parents are pressing for this and would have done with anyone not just you; after all, he's living at parents house, he works at dad's company, etc.
Keep in mind that in the US, in many states, no fault divorces are the law (that is, any spouse can ask for a divorce without anyone being at fault), also, many states are 'community property'. Also, normally, assets are community property from the time of marriage, this means any assets acquired before marriage are not considered community; this agreement is protecting future assets, his dad company being the main one. As I noted, it is not far fetch that parents have make this a requirement if he is to inherit company.

I do have a perfect real life example: friend of mine married and did not do a pre nup; he was running his parents business (ownership had been transferred to him already). Suddenly he passes and widow finds herself owning the business that my friend parent worked decades to develop. Parents of my friend and his siblings find themselves out of a business.
The business? a bookstore and paper store in the middle of Rodeo Drive, the highest cost real state in the West Coast, it was worth big$ just for the land.

Some people get offended by this kind of contracts, but you would need to look at marriage as being a contract, as cold as it sounds. For some other people it is normal.
I am not sure what is USCIS position in respect to pre nuptial agreements in the context of a K-1 though.
In your case, not disclosing it before hand is just not acceptable.

The OP appears to be Indian, because he said it is a traditional arranged marriage, and that he is of the same caste etc as his wife. He knows full well about all the "cultural" stuff going on there.
If it is a traditional arranged marriage, and they didn't bother to have the traditional religious ceremony, but rather did the bare minimum to get a legal marriage, and furthermore lied about what ceremonies they had actually had, then you can see why the CO would be suspicious.

Hey Hiker, don't know if anyone else pointed this out, but that document alludes to another document that is the actual decree.
"I, Tara E. DeCristofar, ...... certify that, a Judgement of Divorce Nisi was entered by the Court in the above mentioned case for cause which is fully set forth in the decree on file in the Court."
Which to me would seem like there is an actual "Decree" that you could also provide.
Forgive me if this has already been mentioned, I've sort of skimmed this topic.
I've just requested my decree from my divorce (9 years ago) from the court. Hopefully it's the correct document O.o

No, what you got was an affirmation from the county registrar that a divorce was granted. (Sorry, I said court clerk in my previous post.) The county registrar doesn't grant divorces. The certificate from the county registrar just confirms that a divorce decree exists. They want a copy of the document signed by the judge that declares your divorce final, and spells out the terms of the divorce.

I'm starting to get tired of comments that are unhelpful or downright rude. I came here for advice. I didn't come here to be told that my husband spent too much on a truck or have it implied that he isn't trying hard enough to find work or that this is our own fault. We are 21 and 20 years old and have done this entire process alone. We've had no one give us any help whatsoever, financial or otherwise. No one has supported us: in fact, my family have tried to stop us. A few mistakes were going to be made. The majority of the comments have been extremely helpful and for that, I thank you. But to the minority that aren't: please stop assuming that we're just sitting around doing nothing but spending money unnecessarily, or we just didn't bother to read the paperwork. And if you really have nothing nice to say, maybe it's best if you say nothing at all.

It's not "10 years." If she never gets her Citizenship, then it's 40 quarters of work making over the poverty level. So if she never works or doesn't make over the poverty level for at least 40 quarters you could be on the hook for life. My ex-wife just got her citizenship this year. We married 15 years ago. Granted, she was never a public charge, but she could have been. Accidents happen. Read the I-864 VERY WELL if you have even an inkling of a doubt. This I-864 can absolutely DESTROY a US Citizen financially for life. I have no idea why they even allow co-sponsors and I have no idea why a co-sponsor would be foolish enough to sponsor someone. Can you imagine a petitioner's parents co-sponsoring thinking they are doing the right thing for a family member, then a divorce occurs, then the beneficiary becomes a public charge year after year... or worse, is involved in an accident that financially destroys the petitioner and co-sponsors for life. And this is not something a bankruptcy can take care of. This debt will be owed to the US govt. Actually the beneficiary can sue the petitioner and/or co-sponsors as well.
Read it carefully. Any co-sponsor that signs it is an absolute sucker, no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
