just thought I'd share
I spoke to a lady at the consular section at the us embassy KL and was told that they accept the COGC as long as it was done in the last one year. Mine expires end of Aug (i got them aug 2012) and she said that'd be fine as my interview date is on Aug 1.
I told her about the 3 months validity, she said it wouldn't be a problem. However, pls pls pls confirm with them as this might not be the case when you're going for your interview. I would imagine it will be accepted as long as it's not over 1 year old. Cheers!

It's people like you that make innocent filers and couples like myself and the other thousands of innocent bystanders on here wait months and months going through hell and agony just to see our other halves' smiles again. Kwan, you do not go to the police department to get the Certificate of Good Conduct. I believe you have a link posted by Love1 just a few posts above this and it is issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Putrajaya.
Please fill in the form and submit online with the link above and print out two copies. You will need Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome to acess the site.
Once the form/application is submitted online, you will receive an email, confirming your application. You will be given 2 weeks to submit your relevant supporting documents at their office in Putrajaya.
I am assuming this is for a Malaysian citizen so the documents are as follows:
Two (2) copies of the duly completed application form for the Certificate of Good Conduct
Two (2) certified copies of identification card
Two (2) certified copies of passport namely pages that contain details and signature of the applicant; and
Two (2) recent passport-sized photographs.
Hope this helps. You may apply for this earlier since it takes 1-2 months to process. Processing fee is RM20. If you are unable to self collect the report, you may submit a self-address and stamped envelope too. I chose to self collect as it's safer and quicker than the snail mail!

I believe you have the right one! It took us more than a month to receive that short paragraph letter and it was accepted by the U.S. Embassy in Kuala Lumpur.

Please i will like to ask if anybody here especially from Malaysia or that has lived in Malaysia before applied for CERTIFICATE OF GOOD CONDUCT, Please how does it look like? what is the content according to the US Embassy Malaysia requirement which say " Malaysia offers a Certificate of Good conduct based upon statutory declaration alone. This is not sufficient for U.S. immigration purposes. We require that an actual check of Malaysian police records be made, and Certificates of Good Conduct which fail to specify that a check of records has been completed will not be accepted"
I got mine few weeks ago , which is one paragraph letter and says " This is to certify that the government of Malaysia has no Adverse record on me" ... is that what the US embassy needs? I just want to be sure if i have the right document on me, i applied through Ministry of Foreign Affairs , Malaysia and it took me 6 weeks.
Also do i have to go finger print to attached to this letter?
Any body with experience , please share

Most of us have heard the stories before........."no text, no email"....STILL, after getting antsy, and checking 4-5 times a day on USCIS website, I phoned My Honey in VN last night @9:00pm, and told her I was going to bed...I had just checked the case. (there was the usual message still'initial review". Told her goodnight, but just checked 1 more time....WHAT!!!!!!!...did I punch in the wrong number?......I read it again, and looked at the hard copy again just to make sure, (as if I didn't know the number by heart already)...SURE ENOUGH!!!!! APPROVED April 24 !!!!......YEA!!!!!!!!! Boy, were we surprised!....so keep checking even if you did 5 times that day. Ya never know. Good luck to everyone else still waiting!

*****in your carry-on luggage if your consider your x-ray as valuable******* trust me I am a Luggage Tracing Agent and I know that anything can happen to checked luggage. So if I were you I would keep everything related to my visa/immigration in my carry on even if I don't really need it at the POE. Better safe than sorry.

Mine took 8 months and it was perfect for us! O's contract is ending in May, giving us plenty of time to plan his move to the US. While waiting there are many things you can do: search for possible jobs, search for schooling and licensing requirements, search for activities to do together, plan the wedding details (do not book anything), grow your relationship and continue on loving each other! I think a couple of you are mis understanding what I mean. My fiancé is definitely worth it, I wouldn't be going through the process if she wasn't. I'm not whining at all, I'm just was expressing my thoughts. Regardless what your personal political views are, because both side have they're faults. But the lack of common sense this country lacks will be its downfall. Going back to if she's worth it, I won to successful companies, I would give those up for her.
The nightmare in Europe, will send its effects over the Atlantic in the next 6-18 months. The president is making it difficult to proper here. That piece of paper they call the Constitution is being destroyed and disregarded, and rights re being taken away. Like I was expressing before, I would rather move somewhere where I know the government is going to screw you, than think I'm a free citizen with only the freedoms our forefathers fought for are taken away.
Also I'm not going on a tangent because I'm fed up of waiting. I realized that part, when I filled. I now find it sad, all of the people on this forum have to wait the decision of somebody in a cubicle to decide the fate of a life together. But it gets upsetting when I see ILLEGALS, get a path to quick immigration, ILLEGALS get financial aid assistance for college, ILLEGALS get healthcare in hospitals, meanwhile Natural born citizens stand in line and get treated like #######, just because you make a certain amount you do not get the benefit others do, and coming soon... If you don't purchase healthcare your are subject to fine.

Question my k1 visa is approved ready to book a flight for my finance can I book a one-way ticket or a round trip cuz I spoke to the air line and they told me that u need to book a round trip cuz she not a residence or us citizen is that true anyone can answer please

We got an RFE because my fiance was not able to provide the necessary documents, like affidavit of support and the divorced papers. he only sent the actual form for the petition. It took us a while to hear from them til he called on 6th of Dec. By the way, we are June 19 filer. So its really way out of the Vermont's timeline now. But I am really positive that it wont be too long from now.
So basically, my fiance dont have to respond on this I 824 anymore? Does it have any weigh on the "authenticity" of our relationship?
