If Hillary even did one of those things, her campaign would have tanked. But Trump has and continues to do these things, and he's applauded for it.

The obvious inference to draw is that Trump raised the rent once his campaign was being financed primarily by outside contributions rather than the candidate himself.
▪ The Wall Street Journal reported that, as of July, 17 percent of all of the Trump’s campaign spending had gone to “companies linked to himself or his children, or to reimburse their travel expenses.”
▪ The Post’s David Fahrenthold reported that Trump had to pay a $2,500 fine to the IRS because “Trump’s charitable foundation had violated tax laws by giving a political contribution (of $25,000) to a campaign group connected to Florida’s attorney general.” Oh, and by the way, after Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi’s campaign received that money, she decided not to investigate fraud allegations against Trump University. This is but one in a series of Fahrenthold’s investigations into Trump’s bogus claims of charitable donations.
▪ The AP reported the appearance of a similar pay-for-play deal with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott back in 2010 when Abbott was the Texas attorney general and decided, like Bondi, not to pursue an investigation into Trump University. A former Texas official says he was told to drop any investigation for “political reasons,” according to CBS.

Perhaps you could, especially with the way the democratic primary was handled, but nowhere near the extent that has been done with Trump. That's what gets me with the Trump supporters who make the claim that Hillary is worse than Trump. It simply isn't true, no matter how you slice it and try to shape it Hillary beats Trump hands down when it comes to qualifications for the oval office. Trump is the ultimate straw man, he brings absolutely nothing to the table. He is a laughing stock to people and governments of other countries, heck he's a laughing stock to the majority of people in his own country. Plain and simple Trump is a clown, all he is lacking is the red nose and big floppy shoes.

And that doesn't even compare to what Melania was wearing.

I have to concede this point...1/4 of voters do not fall into this category. Additionally the adjectives of deplorable and unredeemable are bad choices when referring to people, additionally attacking the voter is never a good move. This was a mistake she has apologized for.
speaking of which : Trump is the one exploiting these feelings and he is one one not walking back is unfortunate statements. He needs to start by fessing up to the mistakes of his attacks on the Presidents resume and birth certificate.
That being said, a lot of folks in the country are having a hard time letting go.

Yep, I've said it here before, there are quite a few people who support DT without saying it out loud.
If Trumpsters aren't agreeing with her assessment, then they should work to get rid of the stigma. Because when POC, Muslims, or any other group has a bad element, we're told we HAVE to condemn it, less we agree with it. But that rule doesn't apply for those who support Trump. Not only is it not condemned, but at best ignored or written off as a "select few", at worst, condoned when DT makes comments about roughing up folks.
What's funny is, no one here is offended by the racist, xenophobic, homophobic, Islamphobia that's inherent with his campaign. Free speech and all that. But calling someone out on said behavior is the problem.
