Yeah, most immigrants are coming from Canada, China, Philippines, UK, India, etc.
Remember, not everyone immigrating to the US is on VJ
Plus, VJ is mostly K1 and IR-1/CR-1 visas. There's a bunch more visas out there (like student and work visas).
But yeah, I'm sure if it's recent, then it's hard to judge if it's affecting the time frame from CC to interview. And with the low number of people here on VJ from Scandinavia, then it's hard for you to get an estimate. But I'm guessing it's the average two months from CC to interview. Only time will tell! I'm betting you get your interview date this coming week
Oh yes, I hope so
!
Luckily the non immigrant visas are still being processed in Oslo, they only consolidated the immigrant visas. So at least that wont be added to the work load in Stockholm
-
Oh wow, so everyone in Scandinavia has to go to Stockholm, Sweden for their interview? I'm surprised they don't have any backlog with all those people they have to deal with!
Yes, they consolidated all immigrant visa services to Stockholm. Apparently it's because of the low number of IV applicants in Scandinavia. I haven't heard about a backlog yet, but there isn't that many Scandinavians on VJ, and it's a recent change, so it's hard to get an overall image of how it's affecting the processing times. I'm hoping they have assigned more people and resources to Stockholm to avoid a backlog. But you never know;) I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Awww! Thanks JP&BP *teary-eyed*. Please no more RFEs for me. I'm hanging by a thread in here!
Hehe, you're welcome!
I don't believe Norway has a long wait, so I definitely think December is possible. Like I suggest to others, look at other VJ member's timelines from Norway to see how long it is from CC to interview date.
And all consulates/embassies should only be closed for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. But this might vary by country.
Ok, thanks, I'll do that! I guess the situation in Scandinavia has changed a bit now since we all have to go to Stockholm for our interviews. I'm just hoping that doesn't slow things down. It looks like other Scandinavians get to know their interview dates within a couple of weeks from CC, so I'm hoping that's the case for us as well
-
Thanks guys
I'm so happy! Jon&Cess: I'm sure you will have good news soon. I'm thinking of you and keeping my fingers crossed for you!
I'm hoping for a December interview date, is that possible or wishful thinking? Does anyone know if the embassy in Stockholm will close down for a long time for Christmas? Thank you!

OMG!!!! Just called the AVR. Case completed on the 21st! So happy, I can't believe it!!!!
Have to call them on Monday to make sure everything worked out with the payment though.
I never thought I would hear those words. And what's funny is that everything in our case has happened on a Friday. We got the NOA2 on a Friday, our NVC case number on a Friday and now our case was completed on a Friday, pretty weird
-
Also my husband is moving to a new apartment. Is it easy to change the address with them?
I moved right before we sent in our papers to the NVC. My husband just called them and gave my new address. We didn't have to fill inn a form or anything.
Oh, and they will send you an email with the cover letter for the rfe that you send in with the required documents
-
Mmkay, I just wanna share my NVC experience today. For starters, we didn't receive any email (checklist cover letter) today. Thank GOD!
But, when we called NVC around 6:30pm (ET) and inquired about our RFE response, case status and stuff, the operator told us that the I-864 (received by NVC october 13) was reviewed last week and was found line 25 NOT CORRESPONDING to the line 37 of the IRS. We were shocked and devastated.
Back story : We called NVC last monday and wednesday (coz during that time, we were still receiving RFE emails from them). Both operators told us to disregard the email and prolly our RFE response is still not yet being reviewed as of the moment. Then now, all of a sudden, they're gonna tell us that the RFE response was reviewed LAST WEEK and it was found INCORRECT once again.
Hubby and I are 100% sure that what we have submitted were NEW & CORRECTED (we've checked it a hundred time before sending it, and the line 25 of I-864 form is the same amount declared in line 37 of the IRS submitted earlier). Then when asked the operator what to do next, he told us to provide a NEW I-864 and submit it to them. We were like, is this guy for reals? We asked him who's reviewing our case, if it is a case officer or a supervisor. He answered a supervisor. We are not convinced by his answers so we tried calling NVC again an hour later.
7:30pm, we called NVC once again, this time, the operator told us that our RFE response is not yet being reviewed! And then the usual line wait for 20 business days blah blah blah! Which is which?
Every time we call NVC, different operators tell us different information. Sorry if I'm blasting here in VJ. It's just the process is very draining and heart breaking.
Oh man, I'm sorry to hear that! It doesn't seem like those operators have any idea what they're doing.
I know how you feel, it feels so hopeless cause you have no control over what's going on. I'm trying to stay positive and focus on that it will end, we will get a CC eventually. I just can't take it if it's gonna be several more weeks
-
I'll go with maybe they're super busy right now, there's nothin wrong on being impatient. Haha!
We have to be optimistic tho. Please keep me posted on your developments. I'm gettin tired of calling NVC. Everytime they tell me to wait and call some other time, I get heartbroken.
I will! Same here, so tired of hearing "wait 10 to 15 days..." I was really hoping for a CC by the weekend, but it looks like it'll be another week. Bummed out right now...
Guys keep asking for a supervisor review, even if they don't pass your call along to one, keep on asking...it helps!
My husbang got to talk to a supervisor yesterday. She said to call back by the end of next week
But of course he'll call every day and I'll make him ask for a supervisor every time:) We still have the unresolved payment issue too... it show paid but they haven't taken our money yet. An operator was gonna look at it two weeks ago but nothing has happened. So this supervisor, her name was Betsy, was gonna follow up on it and said to call back Monday and ask for her. I can't believe they haven't fixed that already, when they said they were going to over two weeks ago and we have called and asked about it a billion times!
Well, well.... I'm gonna try to forget about this for now and enjoy my weekend, hehe!

Yeah! I was like, is sending me checklist cover letter is NVC's new hobby? Seriously, all of these RFEs every other day's tormenting me.
I asked hubby to call them last night, then again, NVC just told us to disregard those RFE emails, and that our RFE response most prolly not yet being reviewed as of the moment. Its been a week since they've received our RFE response, and yet, still nothing.
But yeah, we'll keep on praying that hopefully, before this week ends, case complete.
Maybe they're super busy right now, since it's taking so long for us to have our cases reviewed... or maybe it's just us being very very impatient
NVC, come on and give us a Case Closed!
-
I agree!
It's hard not to be frustrated tho! Received checklist cover letter #7 today! Is this for reals? NVC's sending me one every other day.
Really?! Man, what's with the NVC?
Hang in there, I'm sure you will have good news soon!
-
CASE COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOLY MOLLY!
WOW!!! I'm so happy for you, that is awesome news
! Hopefully that means we'll hear something this week, since it's two weeks since we got rfe and asked for review and a week since our case actually ended up on a supervisors desk. Fingers crossed!!!
-
I know exactly how you feel. All of this waiting is driving me crazy.
No email/news from NVC today.
The 4th RFE (refer to my signature below) we received tru email was questioning my hubby's line 25 AOS form. At first, we thought we got everything right and NVC must have overlooked our files resulting line 25 not corresponding to what was declared in his IRS and W2(s). So we called NVC and requested for supervisor review (but we were not able to talk to a supervisor at that time coz no one's available according to the operator), then told us that he'll ask his supervisor to review our case.
After days of researching here in VJ, I later discovered (thank GOD Saylin responded to my inquiry in a thread
) that we really did have made a mistake. I quickly called hubby, and later on we've got everything figured out. We called NVC once again, to our surprise, the operator told us that they're still waiting for the new & CORRECTED AOS form (he didn't mention anything about supervisor review, which we asked them earlier to have it reviewed). We responded to the 4th RFE response and sent it to NVC. Since sending the RFE response, we've received 2 more RFEs (checklist cover letters - this time FALSE RFEs).
I believe, the operator we talked to earlier about the 4th RFE didn't have our case reviewed by his supervisor (which was a good thing coz WE really made the mistake). I even emailed them assuming that we were correct but proven to be WRONG all along. Haha! Silly us!
Hehe, the NVC really likes confusing us I think! So many false RFEs
What's annoying is that the operators always give conflicting messages. For example, yesterday when my husband talked to them they said our papers were sent to review on the 12th while we requested the review on the 5th. But when my husband talked to a supervisor last week, she said call back next week (this week) cause then it's been 10 days since it was submitted for review. So I don't know what to believe
I guess it'll happen when it happens... I'm trying not to waste energy being frustrated with the NVC, but it's hard not to!
-
Since after asking a supervisor to review your case, you still receiving checklist cover letters from NVC? We called NVC, they still can't confirm to us if they already have the RFE response we sent them (it was delivered to NVC last october 13 according to USPS tracking system). And when told that it was already received by their office, we we're told again to wait for another 20 business days.
No, we got the rfe email and cover letter before we asked for supervisor review. After that we haven't gotten anything from them.
I'm sorry to hear that they are being so difficult and slow!! I think the 20 days is just something they say, the operators have scripts they read from. You can also tell the operator that you wish to speak to a supervisor, they should know more than the operators. Hopefully they will review your rfe response within a few days and you'll get a case closed
Let's keep our fingers crossed we all have good news by the weekend!
-
Hi, I just wanna ask you. Did you file for another birth certificate or asked an operator to have a supervisor review your case or both?
We asked to have it reviewed by a supervisor. We later talked to a supervisor and she said not to send in another birth cert since the case already is under review. It seems like it can cause a delay if you send in a new one after the case is sent to review. In hindsight it seems it might have been faster just to send a new birth cert rather than having a supervisor review it, but we are not sure if we got the rfe because they overlooked the birth cert of if they don't like the one we sent in. At least with the review we'll know for sure why we got the rfe, I hope
Allegra: Yes, me too!! Just called them now, nothing new...
We'll call em everyday this week. I want to be done with the NVC!!!
-
Any news on your end?
No, unfortunately not. Talked to the NVC yesterday, and case is still waiting for supervisor review. So over it!!!
-
Thank you and I am wishing you a quick CC by Monday!! There is still time today too!!
Thank you!! Me too, fingers crossed

Hi all, so I am really confused as what to do. I sent in my DS-230 documents and when I called for something else, an operator said that I was missing the Original Birth Certificate. I sent in a certified copy. Does this mean they do NOT want a certified copy or does it mean that they didn't see the document in the package (which sounds odd because I translated it, put a POST-IT Note and even photocopied it for the duplicate package I sent them). Should I wait for this supervisor review, which they say will take 10-15 days ...and makes me sick to my stomach.... or should I have my husband send out another birth certificate. We are from France so there is no Original Copy per se unless I send out the family book. I would love some feed-back from people who have had the same thing happen to them.
Please let this waiting torture be over soon. I am so over this.
Forgot to tell you in my other post: the supervisor said not to send in another birth cert before they have reviewed it. She said that it cause a delay of up to 20 days if they receive that and it turns out you didn't have to send it in. So we're waiting until we hear about the review.
-
I think our foreign birth certificates must confuse them. They don't look like certified copies but they are.
My payment portal FINALLY says PAID. At least one thing is taken care of. Did you speak to a supervisor personally or did an operator just tell you a supervisor would "review" it.
This is so frustrating, the operator found the certificate himself so it's there, why do they have to make us wait even more?
Congrats on the bill finally showing paid!
My husband talked to the supervisor and she said they needed another week to review it. That was on Tuesday. She didn't actually look at the papers when my husband talked to her, which I was hoping she would. I would like them to tell us if they don't accept the birth certificate or if they just overlooked it. It shouldn't be that hard
The birth certificate you sent, was it in french with a translation or was it a multilingual one?
Here in Norway the gov't issues a multilingual one with Norwegian, German and English on it. That's what I sent cause I thought that should be fine. It has a stamp on it and it says "extract from register of birth". Maybe that was too confusing for them
I hope it works out for all of us soon!
-
I called the operator when I did not get my 4pm RFE notice and she said :Oh, I see your case was closed today." Novemebr scheduling is closed so we will notify you when your interview scheduled.
AhumdALLAH!!!!
Thank you God
Allegra!! My Best Buddy I am waiting you! (I might be waiting about 6 months but I still want your CC)
Congrats!! That is great, I'm so happy for you
-
Thanks guys hopefully it will be taken care of soon. Now, I have another problem: when I called the NVC they said they did not have my birth certificate. I seriously tried not to get angry on the phone, but are these people SERIOUS??!!?!?!?!??!?! I not only TRANSLATED the damn thing, I put a POST-IT telling them it was the Birth Certificate because it was not easy to tell. Sometimes I think they are doing it on purpose.
Saylin, how does this whole supervisor revision work? I pointed to him which one was the Birth Certificate. I told him it was a certified copy he got at the Mayor of his town and he said he will tell a supervisor to look at it and that it will take 10 days to fix. They are driving me LOCA EN LA CABEZA
I'm sorry to hear this happened to you!! We're having exactly the same problem, rfe for missing birth cert. Our case was sent for supervisor review last week, this week they said that it should be done next week. I hope that's true. It's really annoying to get an rfe because the reviewer makes a mistake, it's so unfair!! We could've had a CC by now. I will let you know when I hear something about our case, to give you an idea on how long it takes.

So i had my interview in London, met up with a cool guy who was doing K1, he was on here too so was good to get chatting, relaxed me alot, the whole thing could not have been easier, i wasnt even asked any questions apart from one, your wifes name is? the santa looking man stamped a few things, asked me to sign somethings, said my wife was a beautiful young lady, we joked about the mountain dew they sold, and how busy embassy was, and without even saying bye he took my case, closed it, an walked off, then the next number was called to the window, they walked behind me and stood lookn rather mad i was there. santa returned with a case in hand, and said oh you still here, i said i am done, he said ye, i said, so, im approved, as in like i have the visa, he seemed to be rattled by now and said yes sir you have your visa now you can leave have a good day, i went back wished my new buddy all the joy and luck i was feeling and paid courier, spent 3pound on a call to tell my wife(an wake her) i was approved, now im home and have work in 4hours, they said ill get visa friday, i may just decided to fly sunday(wifes birthday 16th, anniversary 14th,) all in all, amazing experince and such an honor to share it with u guys, all the best and god bless u all
Congrats!!! So happy for you
I hope my interview will be just as easy.
-
The closer you get to the end, the harder it is to wait. I feel like that every time we go visit each other as well. How much longer will we have to endure this - just think after case complete...more waiting..then waiting for interview!!! waiting waiting waiting waiting......
I know, I'm so not good at waiting! I want everything to happen right away
!
I guess the best thing to do is to keep busy and taking it one step at the time. First CC and then knowing the interview date, so at least we know what time frame we're looking at. I keep telling myself there is light at the end of the tunnel... it's just hard to see it right now
-
Still waiting as well - they still need to take my $404 (In process right now). I hope they do it before they read my files.
Case completes for all of this week...
We're waiting too.... My patience is really being tested by the NVC right now. Our case is in review right now because of the rfe for the birth certificate I know I included in the IV package. My husband talked to a supevisor today and they said to call again next week. I don't want to wait that long, I want a case complete
!! And they still haven't figured out the payment thing. Bill still shows paid but the money is still in the account. Come on NVC and complete our cases!!!
-
Approved but they need me to mail off fingerprint record and husband 2010 tax. Then my visa will be process and mail off to me
Congratulations!! You're almost there

Hehe
! The rfe response probably didn't get to anyone's desk until the 18th. But at least that means a supervisor has it and will review it soon. It took a week and two days for our CC after our file got to a supervisor's desk. Following that time frame, you should have a CC by Friday
