Hi! There have now been a couple of weeks since my visa was finally approved and I wanted to share some experiences from the embassy in stockholm. The interview was at 8.30 on october 18th. Me and my husband live in the south part of Sweden and had a early morning train there the day before. We tried to enjoy Stockholm for a couple of hours the night before but I was to nervous to enjoy anything. I constantly kept looking, do I have all my papers?
The next morning we woke up at 6. We once again tried to enjoy our little "mini vacation" and had some really nice breakfast together, but again I was sooo nervous (good thing my husband have the ability of always stay calm). After this we took the bus to the embassy in stockholm. We had read in the instruction to NOT stand in the non immigrant visa line (which was the only line at that time) we told the sequrity guard we had a meeting for an immigrant visa, but were still sent to the non immigrant line (with 20 student already waiting) after 40 minutes of wait and our interview time passed my husband again went to the sequrity guard and this time he let us in (it was a missunderstanding, apparently he sent us to stand "in the other line" but there wasnt any at this time) So the everyone going to the embassy meeting in stockholm. DO NOT STAND IN THE NON IMMIGRANT LINE
The sequrity guard was, although the misunderstanding, very friendly and polite! When we came into the embassy we first went to a window to leave the requested documents. Was very surprised when the woman in the window talked to me in swedish =) This woman was really friendly and gave us some instructions to write our adress and put stamps on a big envelope. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE FORGET, YOU HAVE TO BRING STAMPS! I live in Sweden and needed stamps worth of 120 sek, if u live in another part of scandinavia it will be different. Read the instructions carefully!
After this we had to wait for about 30 minutes before our interview started. Me and my husband was called up and we took the oath. Another friendly woman had our interview. She asked us to tell our story, how we meet and how much time we spent together. She asked where our marriage was held and how Justin proposed. She after that looked at some pictures that we sent to USCIS. When we told her that we had a lot of more photos, emails etc with us if she wanted to see she just smiled at us, said is wasnt needed and that our visa was approved!! Me and my husband celebrated with champagne when we got home =)
3 days after my visa arrived in the mailbox! Now our apartment is packed into boxes and we are ready to move!! POE will be in Chicago on November 16th
Which u all the best!
Congrats on your approval and thank you for sharing your experience! I'm doing my interview in Stockholm on Dec. 13th. Very excited but I'm sure I'll be just as nervous as you were
Did you do direct consular filing? Reason I'm asking is because your husband was with you

I read your post and decided to call the NVC... OMG!!! They actually gave me my interview appointment! Stockholm embassy December 13th.
This is the best day in a long time!
I guess I'll see you there
Interview date!!!!!!!!!!! 12/08/2011!!!!!!!
OMG! Hubby just got off the phone. INTERVIEW DATE is on DECEMBER 9!
Congrats everyone! Wow, they really decided that yesterday was "assigning interviews day"
So happy for everyone!
-
Ahhhhhhhhh got my interview date! Dec21st!!!! I'm in the car right now about to get in a huge accident.
Yes, got my interview date yesterday too!!! Got the email when I woke up this morning. So happy

Whoops, forgot your case was closed already!
The officers shouldn't give you a problem.
Thanks again Saylin! Then I will stop worrying about it
Will probably find something new to worry about soon though, hehe
-
Yes, if you don't get an RFE (I expect you won't for something like that), then bring an updated copy to the interview. Explain to the officer you were reviewing and noticed the mistakes and you want to give an updated copy.
Thanks Saylin! My case is already closed at the NVC and no RFE because of the mistakes. Do you think the people at the embassy will give me a hard time about it? Such silly mistakes that I could've avoided if I'd just looked it over one more time

I was going over my papers today since I don't have anything better to do as we wait for our interview date
To my horror I discovered I made two small mistakes on my DS 230. I somehow managed to get the date on when I graduated from college wrong (wrote Sept instead of Dec) and the date I entered the U.S. on my F-1 visa. I wrote January cause that's when school started but I entered the U.S. on the 30th of Dec. I assume this can be fixed by me bringing a new and corrected DS 230 to the interview and give it to them there? I just want to confirm that this is what I should do...
Thanks for any advice!
PS: Still waiting for interview date and driving myself crazy in the process

We're still here

Finally we are in USA
and together after around 7 months and 3 trips to India. Yesterday night we landed at Houston and the Immigration work took around an hour, because they didn't have my wife's details in the system yet. Finally they wrote the details and stamped her passport and congratulated us. My parents and other family friends were there to welcome us - it is a sweet welcome and we enjoyed it. We will be going to my place this coming Saturday.
We thank all the VJers for their help, guidence, support and encouragement. May the Almighty God bless you all.
Congratulations!! It's so nice to read your story and to hear it had a happy ending
We're hoping our happy ending isn't far away!

Husband arrived at embassy in Stockholm... first in short line for immgration window where he turned in some extra papers they requested. Sat and waited for 10 minutes, talked to Consular Officer for 4 minutes, and DONE. APPROVED.
Congrats!! Wow, that went smoothly
I'm very happy for you! I hope my interview in Stockholm is just as easy.

Hoping and Praying and hoping and praying and hoping and praying that all my friends here get their interview dates!!!! I will be waiting all your updates this afternoon. Good luck.
I would like to ask God for a miracle and give me one 5 months earlier than expected too but I had better save my miracle request at a later time for something I might have some control over!
Thank you for thinking about us! I hope and pray you get yours soon to and don't have to wait 5 months!
-
Me neither. We have to keep hoping we get dates earlier than the 2nd week of November - that way, time goes by a little faster!!!
In the meantime, have a great Halloween week-end and hopefully, on Monday, the NVC workers dressed up as zombies (all of them), will give us some good news!
Yes, let's hope they do
Have a great Halloween!

My bad!
You're now officially included in my list nickky!
No email from NVC today (I also kept on checking my hubby's email account, still no response from them whatsoever)
Oh well, let us keep our hopes HIGH! Come on! I want it to be MONDAY already (I strongly believe in your theory Allegra+Hadrien)
No email from the NVC for us either, bummer.... but it's still early I guess. Fingers crossed for Monday
-
Thanks for your replies guys! It worked out, our case was sent for review and closed two weeks later without us having to send in anything else. So apparently the person who was doing the initial review of our ds 230 must have made a mistake. It caused a slight delay at the NVC but our case was closed last Friday, so it all worked out
-
Hey guys, tomorrow is a FRIDAY. That means that if my theory is correct, alot of us will be getting our interview dates.
And, if not tomorrow then Monday. Keep your hopes high, October NVCers, we are on our path to succes (or to the NOVEMBER thread).
I wish there was a "like" button here, cause I like what you're saying!
-
To those who got their case completed this October (Allerga+Hadrien, JP&BP, muñequita y osito), please do inform me if you have received emails from NVC re USEM appointments. My refresh button (viewing my emai account) is already busted! Hahaha
Will do!
-
Time to start bombarding NVC with e-mails asking about the interview date.
I like that idea! Eventually they'll get sick of us and give us our interview dates
-
It has been a long hard wait since November 2010. NOA2 August 26th. NVC Closed October 11th. Please Santa All I want for Christmas is my Interview Date, my Interview Date.
Who else is waiting for their December Interview Date?
Has anyone got there December Interview Date that closed NVC in October?
Thanks.
We're waiting too! Case closed at NVC Oct. 21st. Really hoping for a December interview! Please, please, please
-
Ditto!
I barely sleep nowadays! Haha!
I'm already staring at my email account 24/7 waiting for updates.
Hehe! Glad I'm not the only one
-
Thanks guys & gals!
Now, the waiting game resumes. I suppose the next time we will be receiving emails from NVC is when they already have our USEM appointment scheduled to our specific consulate, am I right?
Coz I only confirmed CC talking to an operator. Until now, I haven't received any email from them.
Yes, from what I understand, the next email is the interview email. I'm already going crazy waiting for it
-
OMG! Just got off the phone with NVC and we wanna share our happiness to everyone! CASE COMPLETED!
Thank you for all of your help and advises, for listening when I'm ranting and goin ballistic here. No words can explain what I'm feeling right now.
But yeah, NVC told us to call them 2nd week of November to confirm our date of interview in USEM manila.
Congrats, that is awesome!! I knew you'd get CC this week
-
Finally got CC at NVC!!!
I was really delayed sending out the AOS package. My sponsor filed an extension and she's self employed so I had to wait, but I sent it out on 10/12 and got case complete on 10/18.
I called today and spoke to an operator because the automated system still says they are waiting on my financial evidence. Can't count on the AVR!
I also got the typical "November is full and we only schedule interviews the second week of month.
I will keep calling everyday now to see if I have an interview date!
So excited!!!!!
Congrats!! It's such a great feeling
-
Congratulations! That is great news, I'm so happy for you!

I left Houston on 10/22 night and reached Chennai today early hours. I am so glad to be with my wife after 4 months. It is already Monday night here and tomorrow is Navya's interview. We are very excited and a bit nervous and I hope the Consulate allows me in. Thanks to all at VJ that helped us in our journey thus far. The Lord willing, we will share the good news tomorrow. Please pray for her visa.
Sunny (Navyk)
Good luck Navyk!! So excited for you
Let us know how it goes!
DECEMBER 2011 IR-1/CR-1 INTERVIEW
in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports

I don't know how it is in the U.K. but here in Norway I just went to the local photo store and asked for international passport photos. They charged me more than enough for it, but at least they turned out right
I believe the NVC sends the originals directly to the embassy and they give them back to you after the interview. So you don't have to bring new originals if you already sent them to the NVC. Hope that helps!
I got my interview date yesterday, Dec. 13th in Stockholm. Very exciting!
