  1. YAYAYAYAY!!! COngrats!!

Friends, a lot of us are leave these days. JP&BP, Nickky, me tomorrow. We're done!! How were your POEs?

Can't believe this journey is over. What a relief.

Happy New Year everyone!! We arrived in the US on Dec. 29th. POE in Boston was extremely easy. When we arrived there was no one in line at border control and customs. We didn't have to wait at all. The immigration officer took my envelope and passport, as well as my picture and fingerprints. He was very nice and was talking and laughing with us the whole time. He stamped my passport and then I had to go to the secondary screening room for another immigration officer to input my data in the computer. He was not overly friendly but didn't ask me any questions or give me any trouble at all. I waited for about ten minutes and then I signed two papers and had my right index finger fingerprinted with ink. That was it!

All our bags made it and we didn't even have to pay extra for a fifth bag. All in all the whole journey was very smooth and easy... except that traveling for 20 hours with two layovers is pretty boring and exhausting :) I'm still a bit jetlagged and staying up yesterday celebrating New Years until 4 am didn't make it any better  We're with my parents in law in Minnesota right now and are driving on to Montana on Thursday. It's gonna be great to sleep in our own bed again!

I hope you all had a great New Years celebration and that your travels and POE was and will be as smooth as ours! I'm so happy we all made it! It's been a long journey, but we can finally relax now. It's soooo great to be back, I can't even describe how great it is  !!

  2. I'm driving to Toronto to grab my wife :D next week, Thursday 29th and then we go back to Chicago next day.

Unfortunately, I'll have to work on January 1st from 08:00 am, so there will be no really long New Year's celebration .

But, it's not a big deal. We'll catch it up later .

I want to congratulate all the VJ-members with upcoming holidays and wish to all of us all the best, wealthier and happier New 2012 Year and wish to make your all dreams come true (F) (F) (F)!!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all my VJ friends!! We all have a great reason to celebrate this year :)!

  3. My wife had her interview on Dec 16th and she passed!

She is flying to the US tomorrow on Dec 21st. Her first flight longer than a few minutes.

I am very worried  about her 20 hour international flight with a stop in Hong Kong, but she is brave and smart, so she should do fine.

The last step of the long arduous journey!

Good luck to those still waiting to hear some good news!

    Congratulations!

  4. Congratulations!

    Thank you!!!

CONGRATS JP&BP! So happy for you guys. The thread you created is definitely bringing us all good vibes.

JON&Cess- happy that you visa is on it's way. How exciting this all is.

I arrived in Paris yesterday. It is so good to see my husband - it has been 4.5 months. GAH what a relief this waiting thing is almost over.

He's taking me skiing today, so we will be back 2 days before the interview. And I am less worried now that you are all getting approved ;)

I'll keep you posted on the 21st. Hugs to all.

This is a good group to be in ;) I'm sure you'll have no problems at all, you'll get approved for sure

Have fun skiing and good luck on the 21st!

  5. Thank you everyone!!!

I'm sure you will receive the visa within the next few days! I so envy you!! I wish I was able to go home for the holidays... :)

Have a great New Years with your husband and inlaws!

I really hope so!! It'd be great if you let me know when you receive yours, cause then I'll know mine should be on the way :) It'll probably take a bit longer to get to Norway.

The holidays will make time fly fast and you'll be with your husband before you know it :)

    Merry Christmas!

  6. Thank's! :D I wasn't asked many q's either... It was more like a chit chat between two acquaintances.

I wont be going to the U.S. until January. (I have work to finish etc) How about you? Are you going home for Christmas? :)

We have booked tickets for Dec. 29th. I just hope the postal service gets my visa to me before then :D

The plan is to celebrate New Years with my husband's family. I can't wait!

  7. Congrats!!!

I was also approved! It sure was an "easy" interview in Stockholm yesterday. (My interview took about 5-7 minutes...) A great day that I will remember forever!

I'm sure you feel the same! :)

    Merry Christmas!

Congratualtions!! I figured it was you that was there :D Yes, it was very easy! Took us 5 minutes too. She barely asked any questions and was very nice. Have you made any travel plans?

Thank you everyone! I'm so relieved and happy right now

  8. Just want to share that my visa was approved at the Stockolm embassy yesterday !!! It is such a great feeling!!

The interview was very easy, my husband got to go in with me. The lady asked about our story, how we met and how it developed and that was it. It took max 7 minutes. The hardest part was without a doubt the waiting... we were early and waited for an hour.

I'll write a more detailed review in the embassy/consulate section.

It's gonna be a merry merry Christmas this year

  9. Today is JP&BPs day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's wish them lots of luck!

JP&BP, good luck at interview. !

Go get them JP&BP! You are in our thoughts and prayers! :innocent:

Thank you so much for all the thoughts and prayers, it warms my heart! And it helped, cause I was approved!!!!

I'm a little late posting cause I spent all yesterday afternoon and night on a train... but it was oh so worth it!

The interview was very easy, my husband got to go in with me. The lady asked about our story, how we met and how it developed and that was it. It took max 7 minutes. The hardest part was without a doubt the waiting... we were early and waited for an hour.

It is such a great feeling to be done with this. Planned POE is on the 29th. I told the lady and she said they were gonna try to get my passport back to me asap. So fingers crossed it will make in on time... they send it by registered mail, so I hope the X-mas mail doesn't slow it down.

I'll write a more detailed review in the embassy forum.

I am so happy and so relieved right now! It's so strange that this long journey almost is over. I never thought I'd see the day

  10. Hi everyone!

My husband and I are leaving for Sweden tomorrow to spend a mini vacation in Stockholm before my interview on Tuesday.

Am super excited and trying to keep my nerves in check! I have too many what if's on my mind  I'm not bringing my PC, less to haul... so I'm not sure if I'll be able to post anything until Wednesday.

Good luck today Nickky and good luck tomorrow jon&cess! I really really hope all of us December interviewees get to hear the magic words: you're via is approved  !

  11. Im moving to Pennsylvania. I didnt realise flights were cheaper on the 31st! Im having a leaving doo with friends the 14th of Jan so have to stay till after than now, which sucks. I want to leave sooner. I dont think a student visa is gonna pose more questions expect basic ones like, what university, how long etc.

Ok, thanks! :D My interview is a little over week away.... I'm gonna be a wreck the whole week

  12. She's circled that my visa was refused, and also the bit that says I could overcome the refusal by submitting more documents, then on the back she's circled passport - the reason is that it was washed and isn't neat enough to put a visa in.

So is this good news? Or is there a chance they'll receive the new passport and be like, "Naaahh, still not approving you."?

Also, not to scare anyone, but I got GRILLED! For a few moments I thought I was poo out of luck. Reason was cos I spent 5 months in Mexico.

I think that means you're visa is approved as soon as you provide them with a new passport! So congrats!

I'm sorry to hear that they grilled you, I can imagine that wasn't any fun. What did they ask you? Their focus is strange when they had to grill you for being in mexico for 5 months :bonk::)

  13. Im sure you will, be confident. If you have an easy case-nothing to worry about!

Thank you! I think my case is easy, but I have a previous student visa to the U.S., that's how I met my husband. I don't know if that means more questions or not ?!

Im going to the Us Mid Jan. I would of gone sooner, but im on holiday to see some family for xmas and beginning of Jan i have things are need to do still. Flights are expensive beginning of Jan as well due to the holiday season.

When does everyone else plan to fly out to the US?

Good luck to MrsP2010 - December 2nd, 2011 (London). Today!

If everything goes according to plan we're flying out on Dec. 29th. My husband is here with me right now and we get to spend Christmas together. I'm very thankful for that!

  14. Visa approved!!! wooo! was really simple. Didnt ask to see any evidence of relationship. Asked a few questions about where we met, wedding date, what he does for work, the temping thing came up- but i pointed out i have a cosponsor in case. Didnt even ask for the co sponsors birth certificate (which i had on me, since i forgot to send to NVC). Said everything looks fine, im going to aprove you!

My advise for london would be deffo get there really early between 7.30 and 8.30, earlier the better. You will be seen much quicker. I got there at 8.30 and there was a good few people already inside waiting. It took 2 and 1/2 hours for the whole process. But after I got there- the place filled up, where most seats were taken, i imagine it would of taken alot longer. Its frustrating because the immigrant visa numbers are only called every 10 minutes, non immigrant visas are called constanly!

Congratulations!! I'm so happy for you!

I hope that in 13 days I hear the same magical words :)
