Ok Application mailed out today 2/18/15 to the CSC to hopefully get there by Friday. Fingers crossed for us all for a fast renewal!
-
Hey all! Following this topic! We're about ready to send off my hubby's ROC (hopefully by Wednesday!) and it'll be going to the CSC. I'll post more once we get it out, but just wanted to say hi! Glad we saved up all this junk over the past almost 3 years. It took over a year for his conditional green card to be approved (without any RFE's or an interview!), so fingers crossed the removal of conditions goes quicker!

I don't get how the affidavits are optional if it says in the instructions on the USCIS form for the i-751 to include them with the application?
I'm getting things prepared for my husband's ROC and was wondering the same question
-
I have no clue if this is where I am supposed to write about this, but here we go. lol
My foreign husband's father passed away at the end of last year and we are now starting to finalize the estate and his property. My husband is an only child and all of the inheritance will be coming to him.
My question is, what needs to happen in regards to informing the IRS etc about the income? Will we have to pay taxes to the US for his father's foreign estate and the income we will get from the estate and selling his property? I really have no idea who we all need to tell in the US and what has to happen here.
What forms will we have to fill out? Has anyone gone through this recently? I thought I read that you will be taxed if the estate is over $5 million, which his is not.
Thanks everyone

WOOHOO!
Congrats It's pretty fancy schmancy looking isn't it!
-
No, they just left it in our mailbox
On the USCIS website on your profile you can track it after they mail it and it shows when its supposed to be delivered

5/25 Received card in the mail! Only took about 4 days after approval til when we got the card in hand!
-
Me too! (Though I really hope there aren't any more!)
-
Thanks
By the way, it went back to card in production like 2 hours after it went to decision, at like 12:45am. It's been there now all day.
There must've been a glitch in their system because I got a text from them every 15 min from 12:45-3:45am!! Saying my case has been updated. LOL At first I got kinda scared and checked my email and there was nothing new. Then after about 45 min of getting woken up by their texts I put my phone on silent and saw 9 missed "update" texts in the morning. GLad that they really didnt update the status that often! I'd have been worried lol
-
My husband's too! May 21st as well! Phew, long wait!!
-
Yes!!! That's great news!! SO glad you got yours approved too! I bet there was one person working on some late AOS'ers and just got a bunch done. Congrats!!! Long wait over finally!
-
It was such a long wait! Thanks for the congrats! I'm hoping the card comes fast and no bumps in the road!
-
Oh good, thanks for the info. I was like, what the??!! lol
-
This morning we got a text saying that the green card was sent for production, now we got an update saying:
DecisionOn May 21, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.
What does that mean?
Why would it go back to Decision after it was put to the Card in Production?
-
AOS....After 1 year, 2 weeks and 6 days we got this text/email today!
Card/ Document ProductionOn May 21, 2013, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.
SO thankful that wait is over! Cannot wait to get it in the mail

I don't think you need to go as far as hiring a lawyer quite yet. My husband's AOS is still pending at the CSC and it's been 1 year and 3 weeks since we applied for his AOS.
You can get in contact with your Senators and/or Representatives from your state to see if they can inquire on your behalf. Or you can set up an infopass appointment at your local USCIS office and see if they can get any info for you. I really think that a lawyer would not help you as it's still in initial review.

That's a rather annoying response from them, seeing as we've waited a YEAR plus already!
-
Have you heard anything from them?
Well, we put in a 2nd service request at the end of March, which we got a response April 15th that it's currently being adjudicated and should have an answer within 45 days. We've not heard a single thing back from them since then, and the end of 45 days is May 26th. So guess we have to wait til then. On the USCIS website it's not even been "touched" since December 11, 2012.... so i'm not sure how they can say it's being adjudicated if they haven't even touched it.
We contacted our Senator's office and she got a response from them today too, pretty much saying the exact same thing and that if we don't hear anything in 60 days she can contact them again for us..., so that was pretty much useless.
Have you heard any response from your RFE yet?
my mistake but hoping that all the 2012 filers receive good news soon.
It's ok Thanks for the well wishes!
I hope your green card journey is quicker!!
-
Hoping this will be a shorter waiting time. sent mine in on the 7th of may received email on the 10th that application was
received and forwarded to the National Benefits center. received hard copy today.
Lol this thread is talking about May 2012. I'm hoping that May 2013 filer's get a faster response than we have. 1 year later still waiting.
