Well, we're over 11 months now... 11 months and 1 week and not a peep. Anyone else out there still waiting this long?
-
Yes, since you have a pending I-485, you send to either Phoenix or Dallas based on where you live, and make sure to include a copy of your NOA receipt notice from filing the I-485.
Ok, so glad you confirmed this! Thanks! We did send it to the Phoenix box and they got it today.

Called again today. Spoke to an absolute gentleman at Tier 2. He was very sympathetic. Told me that there was some activity with my file on Wednesday but he didn't know for sure what that was.
He said to call back in 2 weeks if I haven't heard anything.
When you look at the case status on the USCSI website, does it say it was "touched"? I'm just wondering how accurate the case status update is. Fingers crossed!
Guys, I think USCIS is playing a joke on me.
I just received an status update to my email address. They say they sent me an RFE by mail requesting more evidence!!!!
I would not be so pised off if it wasn't because I did this already last year! In June 2012 we received an RFE requesting some papers from my husband regarding the taxes and we sent it right away. Then the next update we had from them was the transfer of my case to CSC! I thought I would be approved after that but they had my case in some kind of "hold" for almost 9 months till this new update where they request MORE evidence! When I first saw the subject of the email I thought they would approve my case or at least send me to interview. I started crying for the frustration.
What else they want now???? We sent them EVERYTHIGN what was required then. Surely they want me to do the medical AGAIN. As it expired already for the long waiting! Of course my medical would be expired after waiting almost 1 year!
I will make a formal complain about this. I will have to speak to some supervisor or something.
So this are the news. Hope others have more luck.
I still can't believe they want more evidence and sent you another RFE at this point!! Hopefully it is something super simple and then you'll get your green card soon!

Yes, thats exactly what I think. If they wanted us to go to interview they should have requested it months ago. Not make me wait almost a year. When is your husband's EAD expiring? Mine expires in July so I guess if nothing happens in the next 2 months I will have to renew it, right? Does your husband has to do the fingerprints again?
I wonder if CSC already solved the plumbing problems they had last week.
My husband's EAD also expires in July. I just mailed off the EAD renewal papers this morning. I believe you can mail in the renewal 120 days before your EAD expires. I figure, it's better safe than sorry, cuz who knows how long it will take for them to renew the EAD. I don't think the need to do the biometrics again because they are good for a year. His were in June, so we will see about that too. It's so frustrating that we have to do this in the first place!

There are way too many addresses to send for the EAD! lol
Ok, so we sent the renewal of my husband's EAD to the Phoenix lockbox because in the instructions it says:
"Note: If you are filing Form I-765 together with form I-485 mail your applications to the address you will use to file the Form I-485.
If you are filing Form I-765 alone because you have already filed Form I-485 and it is pending, file your application at the USCIS Phoenix or Dallas Lockbox facilities based on where you live. You must include a copy of the I-797C, Notice of Action showing that your application was accepted."
Other places on VJ say to send it to the Chicago lockbox! I hope we sent it to the right place. Has anyone here recently sent in the EAD renewal and where did you send it?

I know this thread is about K-1 visas and it totally sucks that you guys can't be with your loved ones! Just thought I'd share that they're not only far behind on K-1's but also AOS's too. Today is my husband's 11th month waiting for his green card! (It was transferred to the CSC May, 2012) Something needs to be done!
-
Well, well well this afternoon we had the INFO pass appointment at the local office and the lady told us that at CSC are VERY busy at the moment (her exact words were "they are dying there"). So she said she was gonna send a letter to the supervisor to request my file to be sent from CSC to the local office but it's not 100% CSC is gonna send it so to make long story short, she asked us to wait ANOTHER month!!! And then make ANOTHER info pass to see whats new!
The thing is that by May is gonna be 1 year of waiting!!!!
Also she mentioned that if they send my file to the USCIS local office, then my husband and I will need to go to an AOS interview.
I'm very frustrated about the way this center and all uscis is handling this delay.
If they would have wanted to interview me and my husband, they should have done it long time ago and not making me wait almost 1 year for it. That's unfair for all the people is in similar situation. Besides my EAD is gonna expire in few months, I don't want to go to the EAD process again when its their fault all the delay.
So people, this is the news we had today. We have to keep waiting. I suggest others in same situation make an info pass so at least you can talk to someone in person.
Wow that's terrible! I think it would totally be unfair if they make you interview if it was transferred to the local office! That should've been done months and months ago. Hopefully it doesn't get to that. We still haven't heard anything about ours yet either and I am going to send off for my husband's EAD renewal tomorrow. I hope that they get our apps looked at soon! I can't believe that was their response

We are starting to fill out the paperwork to renew my husband's EAD as his AOS hasn't been approved yet. We have a question about question #15. It asks: "Current Immigration Status (Visitor, Student, etc). We have no idea what to put there. He came to the US Feb 2012 with a K-1 visa, we got married in March 2012 and our AOS NOA1 date is 5/01/2012 and was transferred to CSC May 25, 2012...we still haven't gotten approved. What is is current immigration status? At first I put "Pending Green Card Applicant" but is that even a status? What should put in there?
Thanks!

I just hope I get some good news before my EAD /AP expires. Last year I had to go twice to do the fingerprints for the EAD because the first time they did it wrong!
So far no news about my case. Next week we have Info pass appointment so I HOPE somebody at the uscis local office can give me some news or something. I really appreciated those that let me know about their cases. I was thinking I was the only one going thru this miserable waiting.
I'm happy that some people get their GC faster but on the other hand I considerate it's very unfair that uscis or whoever to make others keep waiting and waiting for so long with no news.
Good luck to everyone!
How did your Info pass appointment go? (Or when is it? hope it goes ok!) keep us updated how everything went!
-
P.S thanks everyone for the well wishes! Same wishes go out to you guys too, we're all in the long haul together!

Looks like you may need to extend your Employment Authorization Document (EAD), Form I-765.
I have the paperwork started on doing that. There is a question on the form that asks what his "Current immigration status" is (question #15 on the form). I'm not really sure what to put in there... Pending green card applicant is what I have for now, but should it be K-1 visa holder? Or legal alien?
Also, we didn't send in for the AP at first, so I'm thinking about sending in for that too right away.
I have been thinking about using the Ombudsman service also. Has anyone used this service and what did you think of it? To the OP, I totally feel your pain. Me and my Wife are coming up on the 10 month mark. The service requests and contacting our congressman and senator has only told us we have to keep waiting with no time frames. This is why I am curious if someone is really way over the processing time frames that this Ombudsman service might help. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
I really have no idea how an Ombudsman works! Where do you even get one? lol I feel like I'm lost in that regards since I didn't think I would ever need to get in touch with one!
-
Well, we're soon approaching the 11th month mark of our NOA1 for AOS. Putting in a service request gave us an answer of "we'll get to it when we get to it" and so far contacting both a congressman and senator did nothing, as we've not heard back from either of them. It's frustrating that no one will look into this!
This delay in getting his AOS is pushing back all of the next processes afterwards, ROC.... Citizenship. I don't think that's really fair.
I'm sure that we're not the only ones waiting this long, but not sure what else to do, but wait?
-
Ok! That sounds like a good idea. Another question I just thought of, does he have to have the biometrics appointment done all over again for this?
-
Well, here's the scoop.
We applied for my husband's AOS and EAD on NOA1 May 1, 2012. The AOS was transferred to the CSC on May 25, 2012. Meanwhile, the EAD was approved in July, 2012.
Well, almost 11 months later, the AOS has not yet been approved (or even looked at in that case). We did not apply for the AP at that time because we did not think that it would take the AOS this long to be approved. Now, it's getting close to the time where we will have to renew my husband's EAD because it expires in July. I am wondering, can we apply for AP now and send it in with the EAD renewal since we still have a pending AOS, even though we did not originally file for an AP?

Yeah, you really shouldn't be complaining after 2 months... we've been waiting for almost 11 months and still no green card.
-
Yesterday was the one year mark for my case. I still haven't heard anything back in terms of an interview or GC. I am going to be making calls today
Was your case also transferred to CSC? That's so ridiculous!
Did you have to renew the EAD/AP?
-
Congrats!! That's so great!
Took their time, didn't they?!
I hope we hear something about my husband's as well. We have almost identical timelines! (we mailed it the same day and NOA1 May 1st)!
-
Don't worry, you are not the only one out there. My husband's AOS application has also been transferred to the CSC on May 25, 2012... and we are not 10 months and 1 week into the wait. We sent a letter earlier this week to our Representative, requesting they look into our case and see if they can get the ball rolling. We had to send in a written letter of permission to them in order to look into our case. We had also sent in a service request to the USCIS about a month ago and they sent us a reply a few weeks later with the response pretty much of, "we'll get to it when we get to it." So hopefully our representative will be able to help!
-
We're in the same boat, 10 months and counting since NOA1 and was transferred to CSC May 25, 2012. Just waiting... and not so patiently anymore.
-
Couldn't agree more! Plus, we have already been scrutinized in the K1 process - gone thru the background checks, had to supply financials, medicals - endless relationship proof. As long as the forms are filled out correctly and supporting documents have been provided - what could possibly take soooo long?
Yes, he is adjusting from a K-1, and that's exactly what I don't get why it's taking so long! Like you said, he's been through all the background checks etc just to even get to this point, and shouldn't they know that? He's had an alien number all this time, it can't be that hard to just plug it into their system and check it out. I think that whole story of "during this time we're conducting background checks, etc" is a bunch of B.S... it's sitting in a file somewhere on a shelf or on someone's desk collecting dust til someone happens to grab it and take the 20 min needed to plug in his info, take a quick glance at the application and approve or deny... Well that's what I think anyway. It might be a much longer, more taxing process for them to adjudicate it but I can't see how it would take 10+ months.
-
please keep us posted! - Good luck! I hope you get it resolved. It is ridiculous that it is taking so long!
I will keep everyone informed! Hopefully contacting someone higher up will help! It's too bad that we had to resort to that, but fingers crossed it will help!
-
Well, I'm glad (though, not really glad that we're all still waiting) that we're not alone out there. It kinda sucks that they can take our money with a snap of a finger and then we have to wait 10+ months to hear anything. I have written a letter to our representative to see if they can inquire about our case. I sent in a service request with CSC earlier this month and they basically just said, oh well we'll get to it when we get to it. That was kind of frustrating!
-
That's a very good idea, thank you!

We're still waiting too. 11 months 8 days now...
