  1. Yeah, dont trust what they tell u over the phone. Those guys working at the Juarez consulate dont seem to know much. The consulate ALWAYS mails packet 3 to both petitioner and beneficiary. Who will get it first? who knows! In my case my fiance in the US got it like 4 days after they mailed it and I have not gotten anything yet, I'm bringing his copy to the interview though. Good luck!!

  2. i dont think its the most dangerous place "on earth" that's a bit extreme... and no one from Mexico who is trying to get a K1 or other immigrant visa has a choice-- we HAVE to go to Juarez.

as far as the OPs questions

    1. I've read you only really need 1 paystub as long as it has YTD earnings on it, if it doesn't than it's probably best to bring a few more recent ones.

    2. I don't think your fiance needs to wear anything super formal, but probably a nice pair of pants and a nice shirt. My fiance is just going to wear jeans and a polo-- no flip flops though like normal :-) (We live near Cancun)

    3. I'm not sure about the paperclips, but in the list of things you aren't allowed to bring into the consulate, I don't see paperclips listed lol. There is a list of things in the K1 info packet on the ciudad juarez website

    4. I hear you have to go through security, if the only thing you have in the backpack is papers then it's probably ok? but I'm just guessing, someone who has actually gone would know better

    5. You only need the DS-260 (and the other forms listed on the consulate website)

    6. Good question! I'm not sure..

    7. I paid over the internet too. On the appointment confirmation sheet that you get when you make the appointment (they also email it to you) it has the payment confirmation code, that's all we're bringing..

    8. I doubt that would be a problem but if you're really worried why not just fill out the I-134 again and print it out with all of the questions typed

    9. I've heard for the interview you shouldn't show up more than 30 mins beforehand.. As far as the ASC appointment, I don't think you need to show up super early for that either, maybe 10-15 mins. From what I've read about the ASC appointment it's a pretty quick and painless thing

    10. I would assume flying within Mexico is the same as flying in the US, paperclips baggies and papers should not be an issue...

    6. They dont. They will at the medical though.

  3. yeah, definitely MUST GO!! like the previous posts said, bring all the proof that u called USCIS and got no answer and also ur documents showing your wife is out of the country. I would also bring (dont know if its too late now) a letter from ur wife explaining your guys' situation... dont forget the regular documents you would take to the interview too.

  4. Hi everyone waiting for Juarez info!

Yesterday Lupita went on 6am transport van to her medical, bummer I did not go with because she got taken by coyotes for $250 us dollars they tricked her though I had informed her what to do so everyone be careful! They actually took her & kids in a van to an office got all her info entered into a computer took phone number etc...she then got some papers from them & paid a big fat lie of $250! These guys are so professional, I got a call in hotel room saying she needed more money & I went to pay what she had lost! Bummer bummer bummer! I am just happy they did not hurt her & kids! On the street with me we were approached several times & I just said 'Largate' y 'Dejame en Paz!' these guys are slick so watch out!

Anyway all the medicals are complete kids will pick up TB test results at 11:00am Monday. Today is ASC at 1:40pm. Tuesday is the big day interview!

    More updates later...Kim

wow, these people really want easy money no matter what! Sorry they took ur money like that but I am glad they did not hurt her nor the kids, at the end that is what really matters! Good luck in the interview and keep us posted!!

  5. I have never been there so I can not speak for myself but I have heard very bad things about Pristina.

My boss recently went there for business and he did not stay more than a few hours, He said the ambiance was not good, he felt like he was gonna get kidnapped or something.

but AGAIN, I have never been there and thats all what I heard about it, maybe he just went to the wrong place.

  6. did you write them all down on the DS-260 or leave them off? I left them off only because they weren't ever his permanent address..

No, I completely omitted them. I dont even remember the addresses!

    I just wrote:

2009 -now: my current permanent address,

2008-2009: the 3 addresses where I live in the US (because I am sure they have it on file and I actually wrote them too on the Bio info) and finally,

    1985-2008: (current) permanent address.

  7. I do not think that would be enough for 2 people, you need at least 100%over the poverty line, even some consulates ask for 125% which is about 18k a year for 2 people. I did a quick math (and I am not very good at it) and earning 7.55/hr working lets say 45 hrs a week will give u about 16k. I think u should look for a better job, not easy I know :S Good luck!

  8. I dont think it will cause a problem, I have lived in A LOT of different addresses since the age of 16 (apartments specially when I was in college) but I did not mention them all, there were too many!!! and Just like your fiance, I have always have the same permanent address and all my ID's show it.

  9. I know we only get one SSN in our life. I got one when I was in the USA on a exchange program. Now that I will be living in a diferent address, do I need to change to my new address? How?

I saw that the order to get things is:

    SSN

    Drivers licence

and then something else I can't even remember.

since I got my ssn already, Can I immediately apply for a DL? What are the requierements??

Sorry for so many stupid questions, I have no idea about AOS! thanks!
