Ok! After almost a week full of drama, feeling like i was in the twilight zone, calling the embassy, calling people and praying i've gotten my packet 3 with my interview date.
JULY 14TH AT 8 AM
God is so good, always. You doubt, but He is always there.
Yay! That's great news. Glad to hear after all the stress it worked out

Oh!! also, should the Petitioner be receiving written confirmation of our new case number?
Thanks again.
Hey there, for your police certificate question you need only one original but bring a copy too. As for your question about the petitioner getting confirmation about the case number yes they do
I am petitioning for my fiancé and received a letter from NVC this week with the case number and other details like when they got our case and what embassy it was being sent to etc.
-
Thanks again for the replies
Can I ask did you guys bring the original and a photocopy and if yes which one did they keep? Sorry to ask so many questions lol

10 days isn't so bad. We think his might take a bit longer cause he lived in Scotland from when he was born till he was 18. (he's 40 now) so not sure if it gonna take time going back and then add in that they got to check with Scotland as well as the NPC. Who knows lol
Anyone else have a longer or shorter timeline?

My fiancé sent off for his ACPO last Friday (20/5/11). We did regular service not the expedited one. I was wondering what other people's experiences has been on regards to how long it took to get yours back. Thanks in advance
-
It is my understanding from reading the instructions that accompany the I-134 that there is no need to noterize it. At least I didn't see it say that anywhere. I haven't had mine done. Hope it isn't needed

Ok, I shouldn't of said the whole : "Fast lane" stuff before, it just bit me from behind. UGH!!!
I called the embassy, and they did get my package today, but the lady said: "Since we get such little amount of fiance visa aplications here, we book them just ONE DAY A MONTH, so yours is probably good for august. Call again the first week of july to make sure you still fit in august" I dropped dead when I heard this. I haven't been able to see Chris since december due to his new job, and now this???? It doesn't make sense, since they barely get them, they schedule things once a month and go into months and months of waiting, because they barely get them. UGH!!!!!!!
Stupidity to it's core becomes bureaucracy. That's how I see it.
Anyhow, that's me venting... sorry.
WHAT?! That's insanity
I am so sorry to hear this. It's frustrating when you come so close and yet feel so far from that proverbial finish line. If I were you I'd try to see if you can somehow speak to someone else and get July at the least. Tell them your wedding is in August I dunno, I'd be the biggest P.I.T.A. (pain in the ####) if I was in your shoes. Feel free to scream, shout and vent in here anytime and keep us posted!

Got Kata's police certificate today. No trace. Which is good.
Need to actually get him to work on the rest of packet 3 with me sometime in the next week before he goes back.
He spent all last night playing Portal.
Hey my Fiance sent off for his ACPO on Friday. Can I ask how long it took to get yours in? Just a time gauge really. I think his might take longer cause he was born in Scotland and lived there till he was 18. Also did they ever email you or did you just get your cert one day in the mail?

Thank you. How match $$ co sponsor have to make?
The sponsor or co-sponsor must make 125% above the poverty guidline. For 2011 a 2 person household is $14,710.00 so the sponsor needs to make
$1838.75. Hope that helps
-
I just discovered that we need co sponsor
:crying:
:crying:
.Could anybody tell me what requirements are for cosponsor would be before i will start calling ppl. Thanks ahead everyone!.
I need a co-sponsor too. My sister is going to do this for us. What you need is for them to fill out an I-134 also. follow the instructions to the form. My sister got a letter from her bank, her employer and has requested her tax transcripts too from the IRS. Getting tax transcripts from the IRS is free and easy. You call the automated tax transcript line at 1-800-908-9946 and they mail it to you in 5-10 days. Just read the Instructions PDF on that link I sent you and you'll be ok!
And since your beneficiary takes all this to the interview I am sure there is still time
-
Thank you very much!!
I hope this part doesnt take too long. I am planning on only a 2 month wiat between petition approval and interview. we have a wedding date set for 11/11/11. It seems withing reach!
It is within reach! You can almost taste the wedding cake hehehe. Great date by the way, 11/11/11 is my daughters birthday

Hey guys
how long does it take USCIS to send the petition to NVC. I recieved email NOA2 on Tuesday of this week, and they have not sent the petition to NVC yet
I just called NVC today and found out they received mine on the 17th. That's 8 days after my NOA2. Then again when you call they just say 10-15 days. But as soon as they ask you "Whats the benificiaries name and D.O.B. and then whats the sponsors, etc.. you know they got it. I asked did you receive my case? If yes may I have the case number please? and Has it been sent to the Embassy yet?

Wow Ben, the one thing I think everyone here knows is the stress and pressure the whole process waiting for a visa can put on a relationship. What she is feeling is normal for many people getting married period (cold feet) but only maybe she has the fear of added guilt say if it doesn't work out, god forbid, did she uproot you from your home and move you away from friends and family etc. Just have an honest chat and reassure her that you love her, you made it this far together there is no reason not to believe you can't make it the test of your lives and you want to move to be with her, it's your choice and you love her enough to do it ad not think twice about it. But truly you both just need to be open and you especially need to reassure her of everything.
I've been with my fiancé now for about 4 years we've waited a loooong time for this. I have no fears about it as we have had a long time together but if I did crop up with worry he would be the first one I'd talk to and all I'd need to hear him say is "it's gonna be ok"
-
Deep breath hehehe
Mine says the same, I am 99.999% sure they mean it was sent onto NVC to get sent to the appropriate consulate
Either way its on its way!!
-
I think all of us working on getting the I-134 together are thinking the same thing but here on the USCIS website it does say:
Edition Date :
05/21/2010. Previous editions accepted.
I'm going to assume that means if it expires while we are all doing this we will be ok
Still, annoying isnt it??

Got my NOA2 hard copy in mail today. Feels much more real now. My fiance and I have been scrambling to get the paperwork together for medical and interview. Seems like just when you have been waiting this long there is still so much to do. At least there is an end in sight... somewhat
Anyway CONGRATS to all the latest NOA2's There seems to be a slew everyday, lets keep em coming!!
-
Ok So my Fiance and I got our NOA2 Yesterday (5/9) YAY!
But now we are scrambling to gather together everything for his interview and also to send off with his packet 3.
Anyone with experience from UK would be GREATLY appreciated.
So I gather he has to put together these documents and mail them off:
DS-230 (Part I)
DS-156 X 2 Copies
DS-156K
DS-2001 with Cover Letter containing email address, wedding date and date of medical
Then he gets an interview date where he needs to bring lots of stuff like birth certificate, passport, i-134 affidavit of support, police certificate and more
lol BUT in regard to being divorced, which we both are and have our certificates of divorce, I have my certificate here with the official seal embossed on it. Does he need that one or can I send him a photo copy?
I'm so confused any or all help would be VERY welcome!
Did any of that make sense??
-
OK I am home now and still buzzing!! I updated my timeline and also the January Filers timeline here. My fingers are crossed that we steamroll on and everyone is approved quickly!!
-
I just got approved! I was on the phone to my fiancé when the text came through. We were both yelling and laughing (me crying) lol VT is on a roll!! I am on my phone at work but when I get in I will update my timeline. Hang in there everyone, VT is in hyperdrive now!!
-
Hey thanks for all your replies. I guess with it getting closer to the 5 month mark I am starting to panic a bit lol. Anyway if there is a problem with the birth dates the best we can do is give them birth years. We did manage to find that but it is all that was on record. Somehow I am thinking unknown will be good enough or at least I hope so! I am just hoping the photos of us and passport pages is enough proof of a relationship. Either way till I get the NOA2 I'll be a little jumpy
But if they want more proof I got it!
-
All forms expire at some point. I see what you mean on that. I would assume they will be updating that soon. Or I hope so
I would download it to fill out and then flag it to have as a reference to fill out a new one maybe. Still, that is troublesome for me cause my sister is mailing me one and if it expires she will have to redo it
The K-1, EAD and SSN (QUESTION!!)
in Working & Traveling During US Immigration
Posted
I am doing research on when/how my fiance can get a job after he arrives on his K1 Visa. I have seen conflicting things on here and other places that are a little dated i.e. 2004 etc... Anywho, upon some digging I found this here *LINK* on the the USA Government Social Security website:

Get a work Social Security number
Updated 05/11/2011 04:01 PM | ID# 576
How do I get a Social Security number (SSN) so I can work if my immigration document shows K-1 and I came to the United States to marry my boyfriend?
The K-1 class of admission shown on your immigration document indicates you are the fiancé of a United States citizen. Therefore, you are eligible for a Social Security number and for employment.
To apply for a Social Security number:
Application For A Social Security Card (Form SS-5); and
Show us documents proving your:
Immigration status;
DHS work authorization (I-94, Arrival/Departure Record);
Age; and
Identity.
Take (or mail) your completed application and documents to your local Social Security office.
All documents submitted must be either originals or copies certified by the issuing agency. We cannot accept photocopies or notarized copies of documents.

So based on this I assume he can start to find work A.S.A.P. right? And then when we file for AOS, which will be almost immediately we can apply for his work permit so his work authorization doesn't expire when his K1 does. I also read on there we could have even applied for a SSN with the I-129F?! We didn't know though so I guess it has to wait but I am gonna call the SS Dept on Monday and ask.
Thoughts? Help??
