Hey guys! I have a friend who just got engaged in the Dominican Republic with his fiancee. He has consulted with 3 different lawyers but they all gave him 3 different answers which has confused him even more. The situation is that his fiancee has a 6 month old baby girl. The baby doesn`t belong to my friend but to his fiancee`s ex boyfriend who resides in New York. The ex claims that the baby is not his and that he already took the DNA test and the results came out negative but that he refuses to give her a copy of the test. The baby has not been registered nor does she have a birth certificate. What are the steps on bringing a fiancee with a baby whom is not blood related with the petitioner to the U.S? Would it be wise for her to register the baby and claim him as the father although he is not? Thanks in advance!

I am a US born hispanic whom mother is from Peru and father is from El Salvador. So many people ask me how I ended up falling in love with a Pakistani. I have always been fond of Pakistani culture perhaps more than my own. The food, music, dances, histories and yes the ladies. I always looked at them as sweet and innocent whom keeping their morality was a important tool. The great love and respect that they had for their parents and our creator. The culture itself is strict with parents whom want their daughters to become educated and not become too "liberal". When I went to Pakistan to meet her I knew that she was the one. Dressed in her traditional long dressed Pakistani clothing with a dubatta over her head was a big attraction to me. We have talked on FB for 3 years. The way how we met on FB was unintentional. Her and her sister shared the same account and her sister added me thinking that I was a old friend from her University. From there that`s when my life began to change.

The $420 fee is for the I-130 form processing fee that is submitted with the initial filing to USCIS, the $ 330 fee is the Immigrant Visa fee that covers the interview and add $74 for fingerprinting for a total of $ 404 which is normally paid at the NVC stage or at the embassy prior to the interview.
Ahh ok so the only thing that changes is the $330 fee for the Immigrant Visa and not the I-130 petition correct?
-
Anyone know if the fees for the I-130 will decrease? From what I read on the Visa Journey news the Immediate relative and family preferences applications will have their fees change from $330 to $230. Isn`t the petition $420? Why do they state $330? Does the new fee regulation apply for I-130 since its a family based application? My mom is interested in bringing her brothers and sisters but we`d like to know if the fees will change before we file the petitions.

Filed ours just yesterday! God luck to everyone

His llicense can be used as it should have the address on it. Also, if his name is on any utility or bank statement, those could be used as well.
Thanks I`ll go ahead and have his drivers licence scanned. I have one more question on line 13 in I 864A it says "on behalf of the following ____________ (indicate number) named intended immigrant. I assume that I put "one" since my wife is the only one whom I`m sponsoring correct?
-
Does you dad claim you as a dependent on his taxes? If so, it is better is he files his own I-864 as co-sponsor.
No he doesn`t claim me as a dependent
-
Hey guys my wife`s AOS is almost done and we are stuck in one document. I was reading through the forum and noticed a member saying that applicant`s who submits I 864 and I 864-A would have to prove evidence of the sponsor and household member living in the same house. In this case I`m the sponsor and my dad will be the household member. What proof can I send to USCIS as evidence?

Just wanted to stop by and say that all of you are in my prayers for a speedy approval. Some of you know my history and we are very thankful for all of the advises. I can`t imagine the pain that you guys must be suffering over this process but believe me I wouldn`t know what I would do if I were in your shoes. If you guys need to talk I`m here. Just because my wife is here doesn`t mean that I`ve forgotten about you guys. In fact I check here from time to time to see who I can congratulate and extend my wishes to. Inshallah Allah loves us all and I have faith that he will do whatever he can to make you all happy.

You may need to start your own thread for this Nomi it won't be answered well under someone else's thread. That way you will get all the answers you need about the priority dates etc.
Erik, So they didnt send any medical docs with her? just the xray? I guess we will need to watch that too when Adil's AP is ever completed!!!!
Yes they only gave her the X-Ray. I have read similar issues of other Pakistanis dealing with this. Seems like we aren`t the only ones

here is a thread listing quite a few civil surgeons who will just give you the required vaccines. if there isnt one near you then you will just have to work your way through the list provided above until you find one who will do what you want
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/231026-civil-surgeons-who-dont-rip-you-off/
Thanks a lot buddy I found someone that`s pretty close.

Once she goes to the civil surgeon and gets the vaccines, they will fill out a form that they have in their office and give this to here. With the medical she had done along with this form from the civil surgeon, she will be all set. Make sure she brings the medical she had done to the civil surgeons office. Also, they cannot make you do medical. I have seen on here how many go to the local board of health office where they often provide certain vaccines. If she opted to get the vaccines here she would only need to get the vaccination record transcribed onto the necessary form - done by a civil surgeon - for a fee ranging from $100 - $400.
Civil Surgeon List Check this link
Thanks Sam unfortunately she hasn`t been provided with any medical papers except the X-rays Cd.

Hi everyone. I understand that there`s a lot of post related to this but in my wife case its a little different since she has no vaccination records. My wife`s medical exam was taken in Pakistan and she was never handed the DS-3025 form. When she went to the doctor she was never asked about her vaccines nor was she issued one. Now how do we prove her vaccine status to the civil surgeon? She doesn`t have any vaccine records since her mom lost it a long time ago so I`m assuming that when we go for the Civil Surgeon she will need to get all of her vaccines? Is there any documentation that I should print out and show to the Civil Surgeon? While reading through the forum I noticed that most Civil Surgeons wont do a vaccine appointment only and will want to do the full medical again. Hopefully that wont be our case :-/

Oh dear what a bummerrrr!!!! i'm sorry to hear that Erik....did ur fiancee get her medical done from Hameed Latif Hospital in lahore?? cuz those morons dont know how to do their job right.... only IF they would've given us that one piece of paper with the vaccination record we wouldn't have to go thru all this trouble.......my birth record of vaccinations which my parents thought was long lost was luckily found in my grandpas briefcase and since it was in urdu i took it to a doctor n he transferred the records n the vaccinations i had gotten later on a new card so i'm hopin' i can use that...i did ask my dad to send me a scanned copy of it...i'll take that along too just in case....n omg beware of these doctors trying to rip u off by saying u need a full medical if they say that don't listen n read them the info thats on the USCIS website link posted by Zee148 cuz u can get that done for a fraction of a cost as compared to what they tell u....but good luck with AOS you two.
No she went to Wilshire Medical Center in Johar Town. I agree if only we knew that she needed that form then I would`ve had her request it but I guess in my case it wont make a difference since she hasn`t had any of her vaccination done in Lahore. Its been a while since she last had a vaccine the other day she told me that she remembers not getting the hepatitus since she was scared of needles lol. Even if she did get all her vaccines I`m not sure if it`ll be valid here since its been more than 10 years.
Lot's of confusion in this thread
- The USCIS person that told you form I-693 Parts 1,2,5 is incorrect. As of 5 days ago, the newly designed form I-693 is the only one accepted. It's now send page 1 and page 5 of the new form.
- To skip the civil surgeon, the important thing is that every shot needed for AOS (at least one in the series) was recorded on the DS-3025 and the form was filled out properly at your medical exam. If you didn't get the shots then you must see a civil surgeon for page 1 and 5 of the I-693.
- If you got all the required shots for AOS, then USCIS will have the original complete DS-3025, along with the rest of your medical exam, in your file. That's all that's needed. You do NOT have to have you own photocopy because it's the original the USCIS uses. That original went to the embassy, then in your brown envelope, then to USCIS without you touching it...in a chain of custody it's called. You could have altered your photocopy so it doesn't count. It's only a reminder to have them find your complete vaccination record in the file.
- Civil surgeons can make up their own rules and prices for services. They are in private practice and if they don't want to bother with just the immunization form then find another one. Most people adjusting status were already in the US on another visa. They didn't get an exam overseas so do everything with a CS. Many of the civil surgeons are so used to doing full immigrant exams that they haven't even studied the special rules for a K1.
- If your DS-3025 record is complete, then USCIS goes by the date of that visa exam. It is possible that you got one MMR of the series and the second shot was not medically appropriate for 4 more weeks. Since you couldn't receive the second shot on that date, you can be given a waiver because on that date you were as complete as medically possible. Same for a flu shot. If it wasn't flu season on the DS-3025 date you are given a waiver.
If you went to a civil surgeon in the US today, then 4 weeks has probably passed so now it is medically appropriate to get a second MMR. It's also flu season. Your old exam date and DS-3025 are no longer used because you've created a new date at the CS office. USCIS goes with the latest date--the one on the I-693--and you would have to go by what is appropriate for you today.
Thanks for the info guess we`ll have to start with the entire medical process all over again if the Civil Surgeons here insist on doing the full medical :-/

Arooj I too am having the same problem with my fiancee. The only thing is that she doesn`t have any of her vaccination records since her parents lost it a long time ago. The doctor did not issue her a vaccine since he said that it wasn`t necessary for a K1 visa. Sorry just needed to rent a little :-/ I will be following your thread

Talking out of experience when my fiancee told the CO that my mom was present his expression changed and said "Oh wow" with a big smile on his face. He asked for both me and my mom`s passport and said "Very well this will be a short one". No proof of evidence and financial docs were found. I assume that he didn`t ask for financial docs since he knew that if I wasn`t making much money my mother`s presence proved as a major support. In the end I feel that if my mom wasn`t there my fiancee would`ve been questioned more.

He had been deported, according to the Consular that we did our interview with. We have been married 5 yrs. We lived in the US for 2 yrs and we did not remove the conditions on the green card because we were moving back to his country. He's never been in any legal trouble or anything like that, but apparently the US Embassy that he turned his green card in at, did not follow through on the process, so he came up in the system as being in the US illegal-I guess. We now know that the govt "deported him" even though we were overseas and knew nothing about this process against him. The Consular was confused by the whole mess as well and told us that they would have to research the case and get back to me. Everyone was saying that it would take a while, so 5 days is such a great feeling! It does suck that we have to spend quite a bit more money to go back to the Embassy to drop off his passport, especially when it was a govt error in the first place, but we'll do what we've got to do.
Wow what huge mistake on their part. The good thing is that everything has been cleared and your husband will be getting his visa. I wish you guys the best!!
-
Good luck to all the remaining April filers!
-
Congratulations!! Sorry for the stupid question but what exactly is a removal order?
-
Congratulations!!!!

This is ridiculous how you guys are undergoing AP for more than 6 months. What could be going on with this system? my heart and prayers goes out to everyone on this thread and I pray that you guys get out of AP fast.
-
Wow congratulations!!
-
There is no need for you to worry my fiancee passed the interview and the CO told us that she would get her visa within 7-10 business days. When I called DOS on Friday the operator told me that my fiancee was on AP. The only difference is that our CO kept her passport. Don`t lose hope! Most AP cases result in approval. The only downside is the waiting.

Congratulations!!!

Yea I figured that was the case. Another question is would it be wise for her to just put her name as the mother and leave the father out?
