  1. This is in regards to my friend. He is right now filling out the I 129F form and is puzzled as to what to put under 14a. His ex wife is refusing to give him her A # which I don`t blame since they are well.... divorced! They hardly speak to each other too which makes things more akward for him. Could a letter of explaination work out in his matter?

  2. Oh wow I did not expect to get such a wide range of response thanks a lot guys. Anyways in regards to her degree the way how Pakistan does is quite different. She has 16 years of education but her degree says masters of English Literature. I`m assuming that ECE will look at the number of years studied and not what it says on the degree? We weren`t expecting English Literature to be as popular here but based on the number of careers that I see for her it seems that she may have to do some further researching. Seems like we`ll have her stick to English Lit then. So before I have her apply should I have her wait back on what ECE says? Will ECE state on the document that she can continue with a bachelors or masters program? Sorry for all the questions just want to try to do things right.

  3. Hi everyone

Its been a while since I`ve posted here. Things have gotten busier since my wife has came and after 1 1/2 year of helping her adjust life here in America we are now finally determined to send her back to school. Now our situation is quite complex. She has a masters in English Literature which is the equvalent of a bachelors here in the U.S. We are in the middle of getting her transcripts evaluated by ECE but am quite confused as to what school she should apply in. Would it be beneficial for her to start at the community college where I went or would there be a better chance in her maybe getting accepted at a 4 yr university? Since English Literature is not recognized in the U.S she is thinking of majoring in Education due to her family background whom are all teachers.

Thanks in advance for the help

  4. Please pardon me if I posted this in the wrong section but I wasn`t sure where this question belongs.

Me and my wife are currently in Pakistan and will be arriving back to Washington DC on Nov 14. She has her EAD/AP combo card and yesterday has gotten word that her AOS has gotten approved. Her Green Card will be in the mail shortly. Now when it comes to going to POE would she be allowed to go to the citizen line with me or will she need to go to the permanent resident line OR the visitor line? Thanks for the help guys

  5. On October 30, 2012, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

It has been a long and stressful journey and I can finally put this case to rest. Anum`s green card has finally gotten APPROVED!!!!

  6. Hey Guys

Me and my wife will be heading to Pakistan to visit family this Sunday for 1 month. Her AOS has been more than 6 months in process and I was told 2 weeks ago from USCIS to give them 21 days before filing for a service request. Now lets say my wife gets approved and her Green Card gets sent to the mail while we`re still in Pakistan. Can she still use her EAD to get back? Would she have any trouble in regards to CBP finding out that her Green Card was already sent while being abroad?

  7. If the DNA test for the USC father (the ex-bf) is negative, or even if it is positive and she has no proof of it, and he refuses to acknowledge the baby and file for its passport, then the baby will not be able to claim USC at birth. If the DNA test is actually negative then that guy is not the father, so I am confused why she is pursuing this. The mother can try to work this out in the courts if she wants if she thinks he is the father but this will all take time.

What to do with the birth certificate, as stated above, is country-specific. She should contact someone there familiar with the laws for a child born out of wedlock.

I am a bit worried about your friend, though. This woman seems to be jumping from USC to USC pretty fast, with infant in tow.

Thanks for your help. Yea now that you mentioned it, it does seem fishy. I`m afraid to make any judgements where he would take it personal.

  8. FWIW, the petitioner's kids are generally USCs by birth, and do not need visas.

Yea the father is a U.S Citizen but he hasn`t claimed the child as his. He took the DNA Test which came out negative but refuses to hand his ex g/f a copy of the test. She is going to apply for a Birth Certificate for her child would it still be necessary for her to put the real father`s name and claim it as his on the Birth Certificate? If so what if she doesn`t have proof of the DNA test?
