When we went to the dmv they refused to renew her drivers license as she did not have the physical green card. When I called they stated that a i757 was enough but the problem is that the form didn't have a expiration nor a issued date. It just said that her greencard was approved. We will try again with the police report but if they end up giving us a hard time about it we may have to consult a lawyer for further advice

Thanks I am trying to figure out what other options I may have to get her drivers license renewed as they will not renew without producing the physical green card would it be much easier for her to apply for her passport and use that as her id instead?

Only other thing that I can think of is our marriage license and her birth certificate.

We both came back from Punta Cana and as we stopped by to grab something to eat someone broke in to our car and stole our purse and carryon. It's unfortunate cause now she doesn't have any id. Since her drivers license was due to expire next week they can't renew her drivers license without her 10 yr physical green card as the drivers license was granted to her using her 2 yr conditional. First thing we may have to do is get a new passport and go to the interview with hopes of them accepting her without the green card. It doesn't make sense having to wait another six months just for the green card if her interview will take place well before that. We are awaiting for the police report as well as uscis to have infopass availability. We are also waiting for the interview letter to come in.

My wife`s Greencard was stolen along with her passport. We are still awaiting for the naturalization interview letter which should be coming anytime now. I still have digital copies of both her Green Card and Passports. As it could take months to get these replaced would my option be to postpone the interview once the letter comes in? We have already filed a police report today and are keeping our fingers crossed.

Congratulations, how did you find out mail/ email/text or your status in uscis changed?

For some odd reason the status wasn`t updated so when we received the approval letter yesterday it was a surprise. Green Card wont be received till a couple of weeks from now though.

Maybe you'll get the appointment letter before then and she can do a walk-in. She takes the letter to the ASC and goes early, because she'll be out of town.

Or, have someone check your mail and reschedule the appointments.

Yea my parents will be staying until the 20th of September so I`m hoping to hear something in regards to biometrics by then.

Right, but you're not sending it late. You are sending it later in the 90-day window. Still on time, though. The window is from 90 days to 1 day before the GC expires.

Thanks we can now travel in peace. Last question do you find September 28th a suitable time frame to hopefully have our biometrics after Oct 15? I`m aware that we may receive our NOA 1 during the time frame that we`re out but since her GC doesn`t expire 11 days after her arrival we`re hoping that its something that she doesn`t need to worry about.

Thanks yea your right well her GC expires on Oct 26th therefore by having it sent on September 28th (28 days before her GC expires) it will not be considered as late so I shouldn`t have a problem then correct? We were originally thinking of sending it on Oct 15th but that is cutting too close therefore we`ll just have my parents send it on the 28th of Sept before they fly out abroad.

What do they mean by "Within the 90 day window"? Does this mean 90 days BEFORE the Green Card expires or anytime before the Green Card expires?

Would there be a problem if we were to have my parents send it on the 28th of September right before they leave on their trip? Is USCIS strict with filing the ROC package right on the 90 day window?

My wife also has the same expiration date of you therefore we have taken the plunge and sent out her application last Friday. We may very well get her biometrics appointment before than which can easily be rescheduled. In our case we will both be gone during the same time length (1.5 months to be exact) but the good thing is that we have my parents whom will be checking the mail from time to time to inform us about the letter. If you have someone whom can check your letter for you while your away it shouldn`t be a issue.

Kzietu- We are planning on sending it out on the 26th so it can be in USCIS`s office by the 28th.
