  1. i have been trying to schedule the med exam with approved doctor but nobody answera the phone. do the accept walkins?

You can go there to make an appointment, this is the only way the can perform your medical. But keep trying with Dr. Corigliano, because Dr. Situ will no longer be an approved doctor (he will receive patients until June 10 according to Embassy webpage)

    Best wishes.

  2. i have been trying to schedule the medical exam with the apprived doctor but nobody answers the phone.. do you need an appointment?

You need to call, so they can give you a date to perform your medical exam

I strongly recommend to try calling Dr. Corigliano, as Dr. Situ will no longer be performing medical exam (he will be receiving patients until June 10) I believe Dr. Corigliano gives you the results within 4 days of you medical. Keep trying over the phone, or you or your fiance(e) could try going to the Clinic in Person

    Best wishes to you :star:

  3. How could I know to which Service Center my case was transfer to? I have no received any letter informing me this particular. They only said to me that my petition was received. And on web page appears like this "On March 30, 2011, we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case"

This means my petition stayed in Texas Service Center? I'm from NY if that is useful...

    help? :help:

  4. I was wondering if anyone here who is or was applying for K-1 visa that is a Federal Employee or a Veteran have seen their timing improved?

I'm asking because Federal Employees are conducted an FBI background check before we can even get hired. So does USCIS runs it all over again or just check up previous Background Check and complete it with a background for the years we haven't been investigated??

    Anyone?

  5. I don't know how the newer Certificate of Naturalization looks like now but the one that I have has a note on it saying DO NOT PHOTOCOPY. In the guide for K-1 petitions however it says that a photocopy of a Naturalization Certificate could be submitted for proof of citizenship. Is it ok to copy that now?

Also I'd like to find out if you needed to have anything notarized like cover letters, etc as part of the I-129F package. Thanks.

My fiance did photocopy his Certificate, I'm sure they understand this is necessary at this point.

    Good luck!

  6. Hey there everyone! First off thank you for looking at this post even if you don't respond. I appreciate it.

I am in preparation of starting to fill out the I-129f, and getting all the documents needed so that my boyfriend from Australia and I can get married in the U.S. But.. I am kind of confused on this whole process. I am young, 21 years old, and I hope that doesn't affect the outcome of all this. I am not going to file any of this until next year until he visits again for the second time.. I have not been to Australia, due to personal and family issues to where I can not travel abroad at this time, but will that make a difference? He will have been here for a total of 4 months before I send this out for us to try and get married. Also the I-129f is kind of confusing.. After question 10 pops up wondering how I am a u.s. citizen; it says Parents and then have you obtained a certificate of citizenship in your name? What is this for?? I don't understand... Also, where we intend to live? Do I put down my fathers address since I live with him? and then send in a change of address once we are married cause we plan to move to another state??

Thank you for reading and also to anyone that replies to this. I appreciate it.

You will find here in VJ a whole section with this forms filled as examples.

Here is the link to I-129f example http://www.visajourney.com/examples/Form-I-129F.pdf

If you were born in the U.S you just need to send your birth certificate with your petition. If you became a Citizen through Naturalization your Naturalization Certificate and so on...

Good luck on your K-1 journey. You just need to be sure you have all evidence you need to prevent a RFE later.

  7. I have to assume that since the OP is talking about assets that means perhaps the petitioner does not have income. If that is the case then the question has not been answered. If the petitioner has no income than I beleive the amount needed in the bank is 3 times 125% of poverty level for the household size. So if it is just the petitioner and the beneficiary that would mean roughly $58,000-$60,000 would be needed in the bank. If the petitioner has income but it is not enough to meet the 125% poverty level for the petitioner's household size then I beleive it is 3 times the difference between the petitioners income and 125% of the poverty level for the household size. Assume that the household size is 2 (the petitioner and the beneficiary), and the petitioner makes $15k per year. That would mean the petitioner would need 3 X the difference between roughly $18500 and $15000. So $3,500 times 3= about $10,500.

More info is needed to answer this question. The fact the OP is talking about using assets leads one to believe the petitioner is short on income.

Oh God, I got confused with your answer... I've read somewhere that if you don't fill the poverty line, you can also present a co-sponsor. As I've read above, bank statements are somehow not to much trustworthy, because you can fill in your account one day with borrowed money, ask your bank to give you a statement of your account and then withdrawn the money. It's so circumstantial. Maybe if your fiance(e) doesn't reach the poverty line, you could also try to find a co-sponsor.

Best wishes to all of you for a smooth and fast K-1 journey!!

  8. Well said. Lots of petitions are successful without ever having shown they have been touched so you can't read anything into it. Best of luck with your journey.

Thanks!! I best of luck to you too.At this time we need any we can get! :star:

And how would you even find out that it has been touched?

Hi, from what they've said I believe you find it when you sign in to an account on USCIS, and then add your case to your portfolio. You will see a column that states "Last Updated" I believe they refer to this date. Best of luck to you!!

I was touched on April 8, wishing that it's from my package been put on an adjudicator desk!

  9. This is a common question

When your petition is received, it is assigned a bar code. The bar code is swiped everytime the file is handled, whether it be if the file is counted, moved, or placed on an adjudicators desk

So don't put too much weight behind a touch, it doesn't mean anything, they could have simply moved your file from one filing cabinet to another due to a leaky pipe

    Good luck

And thanks a lot for your good wishes!! Same to you!!

Thanks! I didn't put too much weight don't worry. I was just curious, because I've seen this on many timelines... so I was trying to figure this out. Mine has been touched once though
