  1. Is it possible to get an expedite, from congress if we bring this case up to them under financial and/or humanitarian reasons? In addition, how long will the expedite take and is there a fee involved, i.e. if we decide to expedite? I haven't seen my mom in almost 4yrs (she was originally on a student visa) and I miss her a lot. I need your help. :(

    :help:

I think the probability of expedite is very low. Your situation is not enough of a reason to request the expedite for humanitarian reasons...as far as the financial - the cost of living that your mom and step dad would cover for you and your siblings in Jamaica is probably lower than what it's going to be in States (unless you're able to prove, it's otherwise).

Ask your mom and step dad to go to a lawyer (they usually provide a free initial consultation). I'm suggessting not hiring a lawyer, but check out what they have to say.

Hopefully you will get few of the senior members answering your query as well. Good Luck!

  2. On march 24th we got an email from USCIS with our status update: ‘Document/Card production’ which was very confusing because it doesn’t apply to I-129f…so we were going crazy, called USCIS, even set up 2 appointment at the local field office via infopass…and we did manage to find out, that when they were putting our case into the system, they messed up my fiancé’s ( the petitioner’s ) address with our lawyer’s address ( surprise, surprise ;) ). We would not have found out that they messed it up if we didn’t try to apply one change to our petition while it was still in the CSC … So they did fix the address and sent us the notification (that was what the ‘document production’ referred to – we got it few days later.

Last week we’ve been calling trying to find out some update…since the info on the website was still document/card production, so we just wanted to find out which stage of the process our petition is at right now… My fiancé gave them some hell over the phone and talked to them like 5 times over 2 days (Last Thursday and Friday) … On Saturday we got mail from the USCIS which we didn’t expect…and it said that we contacted them recently about a request – and the request was – expedite! Isn’t that just weird…

Monday afternoon – we got our NOA2!

Yyayayayayayay :) Let the 2nd stage begin!

  3. pls help me, im in the process of completing the form G-325a. regarding the question " last address outside the united states for one year" what do i need to write in there, is it the address here in the philippines? what i wrote in applicants residence last five years was my address here in the philippines is it the same address? thanks! i got confused about it. god speed

that's the last address you lived at for at least a year. If you have lived at your current address for more than a year, you need to put down that address...

  4. So..instead of calling, we did an appointment at the local field office via infopass...My fiance had quite an experience with the immigration officer at the field office...who seemed to know nothing until my fiance got mad and had to talk soem sense into that guy...we finally found out what was it about...when some clerks were putting our case in the system they mixed up my fiance's address with our lawyer's address...and when we called to have the consulate changed, they corrected the mistake. Whenever address is updated they send that mail and form - it's a standard procedure...so he ended up getting a print out of all our cas updates and he managed to find out that we should hear sth soon as they are doing a lot of cases at the moment to speed it up a bit...so NOA2 anyday I hope! We even made bets on when we get it, the looser will have to do laundry for a month after we will finally be able to move in together :)

Oh, and we don;t have to fill out any AR-11 forms or any other such thing!

  5. hello...

I am asking for your hlp once again...

we just receive our NOA2 in the mai yesterday and it has an expiration date of July21st,2011...just want to make sure that this date is the validity for the petition's approval?

Also, what are the different form my fiance and I need to gather so he can take them with him when called at the embassy? I know DS 156, DS 156K (but I look for this form online, it is exactly the same as DS150), DS230, I134, along with copy of I 129 package, letter of intent, copy of NOA 2..what else?

All the help and advice I receive will be highly appreciated!

ps: one more question...do we need to contact anyone after receiving NOA2..cuz on the form it says beneficiary to contact consulate?

    thx!!! :) :)

Yes the July 21st is the expiration date. The approvals are usually valid for 4 months.

    Congrats on your approval!

  6. It's London, KY, not London, UK :) Not sure why they want the AR-11 from you but I suspect they need it to change the assigned consulate?

Okay...I feel dumb now, I'm so close to The London, England that I assumed it's the London they meant! Geez, that teaches me to read things twice... Thanks for that :)

I think that's why teh yneeed it, but the again in the form they ask for last and present address - in my case it's the same address...i di not change my address...it's all correct in our pettition...

the consulate hasn't been assigned yet.. we have not been approved yet! All we wanted was to change Warsaw, Poland to Dublin, Ireland in Q20 in I-129f... will try to call and find sth out today...

    Thanks!

  7. Hi, like I told you I nearly got the same message. We got this AR-11 too. In our case it turned out that USCIS made a mistake and had a wrong zip-code from my fiance, they tried to mail us the NOA1 but was re-mailed to them, so they tried it again and attached this strange letter and AR-11. The AR-11 only applies for address changes of aliens. My fiance tries to call today to correct the zip code. Maybe check if they have a wrong address of you or if something else is not right in the data?

    Hi Zara,

I know what you mean, but trust me, I checked it twice and we did not have errors with our addresses. We did receive our NOA1 with no problems. Therefore I think, since we requested a consulate change, maybe they assumed my address changed? But I'm not an alien, am I? All we wanted to change is the consulate warsaw - to dublin in Q20.... oh boy, what a mess. Good luck Zara and thanks for your insight :)

  8. Hi everyone,

Can anyone, who called USCIS customer service line and managed to talk to someone who actually knows sth? There's some additional stuff going on with our case which I described in this thread http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/302567-confusing-mail-from-uscis/

...and we would really want to talk to someone who actually knows something... We called already few times and wanted to talk to supervisor/ anyone else than the officer that pick up the phone, but we're always turned down, and told there are no one around that can help us...

Can someone who succeeded to talk to somebody, give me some advice, share the secret?

    I would greatly appreciate it...

  9. Hi everyone!

Recently I have posted a thread in relation to the email we got from USCIS saying that the status of our case is document/card production...I'm sure you've seen those. Yesterday we got a hard copy document in mail.

when filing I-129f in November our lawyer put Warsaw,Poland in Q20 ( when they ask about the consulate). Although I'm a Polish citizen I reside and work in Dublin, Ireland. Couple of weeks ago we called, since we wanted to have that changed. We really want the interview to be in Dublin since it will save as a lot of money, not mentioning the hustle!

What came in mail was 2 things.

Simply a note that we made the request and that the consulate will be chosen by the State Department when the CSC approve the petition.

    BUT

Along with that came a note that they received a changed of address request and want us to fill out a AR-11. Which doesn't make any sense to me... they ask in that form to fill out present and last address...which would be exactly the same in our case! ?They're also asking for Alien number and port of entry details which do not apply to me. Any one has any insight or thoughts to share?

What is more they're telling us in that note to fill out that form (AR-11) and send it to address in London...why London? Does anyone know?

We're getting frustrated...we're almost on our 5 month mark and were hoping for an NOA2 soon... We were hoping to get married on memorial weekend...

How should we proceed with that? I know you'll probably say to call them...which we will...I'm just hoping to get some insight from anyone with proper knowledge and/or experience.

  10. Not really...I posted that thread as well, when we just got that email. I was wondering if anyone had any idea what that meant. Now I'm asking if there's anyone who actually got it to and actually managed to find out what that means - if someone had any results coming from that mail. :)

  11. I was just wondering if there's anyone who filed I-129f for their fiance and while waiting for NOA2 got this email below instead... I just wanted to see if someone managed to get to know what does it mean? What was mailed to you?

From what we managed to find out..it's most likely our NOA2.

  13. They're just not helpful, eh?

Well, in any case, I seriously doubt it's a 'denial' because those usually come after RFEs have been traded back and forth - don't panic. To me it looks like it either A) should've been an approval that was mis-keyed like someone mentioned above (because "card production" never happens for I129f petitions but it does for other kinds) or B) it's someone else's card approval that was mistakenly associated with your case number. It's very dumb that the USCIS, who takes care of these petitions, won't take a look at your file and see that the error is on their end and making you wait for the mail is a waste of time.

Hope it's the A scenario :) If it's a B one, I hope they will figure it out soon enough! I agree...how dumb they can't actually check and clarify what's going on with our case...laziness, ignorance, or is it actually some protocol or sth? I guess we will never know, huh? :)

    Is it maybe an RFE??

Nope! All 3 times we've called they said it's definitelly not a RFE! What is it then? who knows...:(

  14. ask a specific question: has the case been forwarded to the NVC?

I suspect a wrong key was hit in the approval. Or the fiance tripped something up when she went into the embassy.

May just be an RFE, but looks more like a generic approval from another petition type. They could be mailing you documents or RFE. But normally these are approvals when there is an I-130 involved.

Well, my fiance (he:)), went to the field office in Santa Ana and tried to change the consulate preference in his I-129f...he might have triggered sth...we also mailed them a letter asking for a consulate change on the petition, hoping we could get it changed while still in "waiting for NOA2" phase. I hope that what you suspect is right- wrong key hit in the approval, however how could that be since there's no such option in I-129f as card/document production. My fiance called USCIS 3 times yesterday and talked to 3 different officers, all of them told him to wait for what comes in mail, at the same time all 3 of them said,l it is definitelly not an RFE.

I just hope we get sth in mail soon... thanks for the advice though, I think you're right, that's what we should ask, if it was sent to NVC yet... I guess my fiance will call again in couple days and ask if it was sent to NVC or not, thanks a mill!

  15. Well, my fiance called USCIS 3 times :) He's on top of it! :) All three officers told him the same, wait and see what you get in your mail, saying they couldn't check...isn't that annoying...maybe we'll bug them tomorrow again :) Until they finally know sth!

i read on USCIS site that sometimes there's a bug on the site so when u make status check there's a problem... maybe that's the reason why...:unsure:^_^

Might be sth like that. At first I was checking the status online and it said card/document production as well. But after few minutes I tried again and an error page pops up...probably a bug...fingers crossed for a approval though :)
