I live in Tennessee and, according to other information, based on where I live my application should have been routed to the Texas Service Center, but my NOA1 stated the Chicago Lockbox routed it to the California Service Center also. I am applying for an IR1 for my wife. My NOA1 Date was Feb 24, 2011. So I am assuming, as others have stated, that they are routing them to the least busiest service center.
This topic is for K-1 visas - see entries above. They might have different procedures for your type of visa... but then again..who knows! Cheers!

Nope, no need. Our I-129F was prepared by a lawyer, who never requested anything like that. They actually couldn't care less about that. All they want is yours proof of employment (hence tax returns and pay stubs and a letter from your employer that you need to include in the package). Hope that helps!

I don't know much about CR1 visas...but know some about the AOS. When you file AOS file I-131 - Advance parole. They wont charge you for I-131 if you file it together with I-485. The I-131 takes up to 3 months. It's usually valid for 1 year and your husband will be able to leave U.S for short period of time. Hope it helps!

I would think it's the same for everyone, but what our lawyer told us is that some consulates may asked for additional stuff, hence some different letters...more check boxes i presume? That's my thoughts.
-
Police certificates are usually valid for 1 year...
Might be too early- you could wait few months..but then again...you see January and February filers getting their NOA2s nowadays....who knows, maybe you'll be among the lucky ones! Good luck!

Yes, they all look more or less the same...that's what it would have been:
Hope that helps!

No it didn't confirm I had TB, all it was is that I misread the original email I received from the embassy didn't understand that it actually said. Basically I need to enter the US within six months of the date of my original medical exam otherwise I would need to retake the medical exam and pay for the cost for reissuing my visa.
Okay, do you have a vaccination record showing that you received the TB vaccine in the past? If you do have the record you received the vaccine....the X-Ray is not needed..isn't it? Then the limitation wouldn't apply, would it?
Maybe get your vaccination record...or get the TB vaccine... just throwing some thoughts...I remember the civil surgeon that was doing my medical told me that I wouldn't have to do the X-ray if I had my vaccination record... because i didn't have it and the skin test turned out positive (because of the vaccine)i had to get the X-ray and get another vaccine....well at least I have the record of the 2nd vaccine now, so i'm definitely bringing that to my medical this time...hoping for no X-ray...
-
Did your xray actually confirmed that you have TB? Just a curiosity..I was vaccinated as a chiled and my skin test showed positive, but the xray confirmed that I did not have TB... just wondering...having my medical (again - soon).

' Hard part behind you? 'What hard part? Lucky you...Well, we all envy you! Enjoy! We definitely would!
-
You're kidding right? ...well...if you are - you almost got me...if you're not sorry about that - the answer is: Don't worry about that, just say the truth! Good luck!

Yeah, K1 visa allows you to get a ss#... she will be able to get a driver's license and open a bank account. As soon as you get married she will go to ss office and get her name changed there. it will take a moment and its free of charge.
-
in relation to Vaccines... don't worry about that!. During you medical just say you're pregnant and they will not even mention vaccines... if you can get your vaccination report bring it with you to the medical.

My f-1 visa expires in May. Even if I got Advanced Parole, I wouldn't be able to travel with the baby until we get his or her papers from the Norwegian embassy, and I'm not sure how long that would take. Plus since my Visa would then be expired, would I even be able to enter the US again for my interview?
Also, the mandatory health check - I think I read that it includes vaccines for various thing. My OB GYN informed me I can't get any vaccinations while pregnant. What can be done about this?
This kid is complicating so much. XD
File AOS as soon as possible with AP..AP takes at most 3 months. As soon as you have the travel docs you might leave U.S and come back whwnever you want, as long as the aP is still valid ( approx. 1 year) if you get the info about the interview (the AOS one you can ask them to reschedule due to your circumstances - shouldn't be a problem) That's what I understand from what I've managed to find out...
Good luck, and congrats on your baby!
-
Congrats! Well deserved, huh?
From what I found out... Apply for SS# no sooner than 2 weeks after she arrives (to make sure they won't deny her ss#, it takes 2 weeks for them to have her in the system). Get married..Then file I-485 together with EAD and AP - if you file them concurrently, they won't charge you extra for EAD and AP - will save you $700...and she will have her work permit and travel permit ( in case you want to travel outside U.S)...I think I-485 you file together with I-130... Am I missing anything?

I would simply ignore it. Your fiance will have the passport with him at the interview and the birth certificate...it's an honest mistake...no one will accuse you of trying to mislead the USCIS or any other agency. I say you don't do anything. Good luck!
-
Just in case someone was looking for some info... there was a transcript from a press conference on USCIS website http://www.uscis.gov/USCIS/News/2011%20New%20Items/February%202011/transcript_StrategicGoalsInit_2011.pdf
They did not say that the government shutdown would neither that it wouldn't affect the USCIS. They did say that it's mostly fee-funded agency... for example any grants or refugee programs might be affected....
On the other hand...someone had the point..those background checks won't get done themselves...
Some info on the marriages that have been split due to the spouse being sent out of U.S...
-
Oh..Sorry then, Poland does and so does U.S, hence the information. I had a medical exam done in states some time ago...my tb skin test was positive due to the TB vacine i received in the past...i guess it varies.
-
First they give you a shot..that's the test for TB. Only if it turn out positive you need the xray. The TB test will turn out positive not only if you have TB but also if you did receive a TB vaccine ( compulsory vaccine in some countries for kids/teenagers). If you can prove you had a tb vaccine in the past, no need for an xray.
-
Don't do that... If you do it just before your interview, it will still be valid for AOS package in U.S. You will save your $200...that's how much it costs in states. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone
-
Don't forget obtaining police certificates.
Don't do the medical until just before the interview - you might want to use the same one for your AOS package.
Since they're valid for a year you might as well get those. It takes sometimes up to several weeks to obtain them.
We're in the same boat...so we're kinda looking around for this we can do in advance.
-
Thanks a mill! That's what I've been thinking...I might as well start working on the police certificates. As far as the medical I think it could be done over a day or two... So I will leave that for later! Cheers!

Just a quick question...
We've started the process mid Nov...we're going through a lawyer, taking into consideration the volume of our proof of relationship we submitted, most likely there will be no RFEs. We're going through California Service Center...we're guessing we should hear sth in a 1-2 months. To speed up the process after we get NOA2 ( assuming it was approved) can I start gathering all the docs now? Like police certificates and such...how long are they valid for, from the issue date? I've lived in few different countries...should I get police certificates from all of them?
Just wanted to find out if I can gather some stuff while waiting...maybe that could speed things up afterwards...
I don't think our lawyer realizes that for us a month or 2 or 3 makes a huge difference...even a 1-2 weeks are worth the trouble... she just waits for the NOA2...
So what can we do, while waiting?
Also... I'm a Polish citizen, but live in Dublin at the moment... where should we expect to have the Interview?
Thanks!

I'm not saying you can't travel to the U.S. Just saying that in some cases the immigration officers might refuse to let you in.
But hey, knowing that you did travel before under those circumstances, that's good news to all of us!
Not scarying anyone.
Good luck!
-
Okay, I think you must realize one more thing that you might face when you get to the U.S. They may simply not let you in because of your K1 visa being processed - so the risk that you might not leave U.S. is determined by the immigration officer as high.
I would advise getting to know about that now...could save you stress and money...I know it's hard, but we all gota do what we gota do...besides what couple more months being seperate when you're plan to spend next 50 years together...
Or you can always have your fiance fly in to meet you... that's what we keep on doing! Soon enough, hopefully, it'll all be over...
If you decide to go anyway, let us know, might keep my fingers crossed for you!
Take care!
Travel with CR1 visa after US POE

My response was correct and accurate - just not in relation to CR-1- My bad! I have the whole K1 going on in my head and missed the CR1 part. If you read I-134 form, its instructions - it says that if you're a conditional resident you do not need to apply for any reentry permit(I-134) (unless you're planning to stay abroad for more than a year). It says all you need is your resident's card. Therefore pushbrk's reply was not only accurate but also very relevant in this case. Mine - wasn't. Cheers!
