  1. Actually, we haven't even received the NOA2 yet, so no, the medical hasn't been scheduled as of yet. How long did you have to wait for the appointment? 2 months isn't bad when compared to the waiting time for the NOA2. I'm just trying to see what proactive measures can be taken to minimize the waiting period as much as possible. I just want my fiance home! :)

oh okay :) hopefully you will get it soon. I waited 3,5 weeks for the medical. Called when we got the NOA2 (April 11th) and had the medical scheduled for May 3rd... and Have your fiance obtained police certificates? That takes few weeks, so it's better to obtain that sooner.

It's really hard to find out anything from the consulate (via phone)...I tried so many times to call them and try to get some info ( in relation to my packet 3 and now to have my interview scheduled) see if i can speed things up...but somehow whenever I call, they always direct me to the same lady, who's very rude to say the least....

All in all- not likely it'll be 1 month from the NOA2...but should take less than 2.

  2. We got our NOA2 April 11th...waiting for the interview scheduled. I spoke to a lady in the consulate today and she told me that approx waiting time for an interview now is 3 weeks from the day they receive your packet 3. I hope you went ahead and scheduled the medical? There's quite a waiting time for the medical...only one civil surgeon in whole Ireland.

All in all it should be a little less than 2 months...

  3. So here's the deal. I filed the I-129F and now I'm at the stage where my fiance just got the packet. I'm confused as to what I need to do for her to help her interview. I know I was supposed to send her a copy of the I-129F but I don't have a full copy. I have most of the documents so I'm giving her what I can. But other than the copy of the I-129F, what else do I give her? Am I supposed to fill out a I-130? I-134? I-184? I'm confused. Nowhere in the instructions of the I-129F does it say I need to fill any of those out but that's what I hear around the forums. Also, when I look at the flowchart, http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow there's nothing regarding those forms. I may be overlooking things. I'm not sure. Please help.

All the instructions are in the Packet 3. I just received mine. All you need to be taking care of is the I-134 ( affidavit of support) and the supporting evidence, that is tax returns, W2, bank statements, pay stubs, a letter from your employer.

The rest she needs to take care of and gather.

You should help her with getting some evidence of ongoing relationship ( emails, phone records, letters, photos etc).

  4. i just got a packet from the consulate that any documents I submit must be in EITHER English or the officail language of the country where my case is being processed.

Therefore I believe the NVC is right. On VJ everyone will be encouraging you to having it translated anyway... better safe than sorry! And those officers at the cosulate... they say that if they want to be picky they will find a reason to pick on...

  5. They really won't send stuff to Canada? I had the impression they would from this thread:

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/294806-can-noas-be-sent-to-canadian-address/

Especially given that there is a box to fill in "Country" in the I-129F, and the instructions say "If you live in the United States or abroad and are filing Form I-129F, then file your petition at:"

Well, then i guess they do accept a foreign mailing address after all! Sorry about that!

  6. well, maybe I will be able to help out.

I came to U.S some time ago on a tourist visa to visit my sister. while I was here I met my (now Fiance). I came just to stay for a while but while I was here I realized it will be harder and harder to leave as the relationship with my (now) fiance started to become serious. I was looking at options. My sister filed concurently I-130 and I-485 on my behalf. You need a base for your I-485 - tourist visa is not qualified as a base for I-485.

What happened is that the package I sent was not even processed...

At the USCIS they first go through all the paperwork and either accept and process, then deny or approve. Or they reject the paperwork without processing.

My I-130 and I-485 package was rejected, stating that cannot be processed since the priority date wasn't current.

the paperwork was returned to me ( all of it).

    I left the U.S.

Hope it helps.... After the paperwork was rejected I was dealing with a lawyer, he said there's no chance to adjust the staus from a tourist visa....you might file I-130 and I-485 conccurently but only if the priority date is current ( I did not ever got the whole idea for the priority dates and what does that mean...)

Thanks Casprd! We are working with the attorney, who filed this on our behalf.

Did you have to fill out I-130 concurrently?

Did they cash the check already?

  7. We got exactly same email. Few days later we found out what was wrong. The person who was putting our case into theirs system made a mistake in our address. When they realized it was wrong and it was then corrected, the email was sent to us automatically ( standard procedure). Our case was at the CSC at that time. Maybe when they were sending it to NVC they realized they made some mistake or sth...

All in all- nothing to worry about. If your case is at the NVC stage, then I think you should simply ignore it - the emails are sent by the USCIS not the NVC. Best would be to call NVC to check up on your case. The're very frinedly at the NVC and very helpful! Give them a shout!

I did update some information-my fiance's email address and phone number. Maybe it was for that? Thanks for your input!

If you updated it at the USCIS stage, then it's most likely that!

  8. WE received our NOA2 on Monday (11th April) we called the following Friday (15th April) they said there was no trace of our case just yet. We called again on Monday (18th April)- they said they have received our case on Friday (15th April)- we got our case number. We called again on Wednesday to check if it was sent to consulate in Dublin- they confirmed it was sent that day (20th April).

I just found out today that the consulate received my case and sent out packet 3...i haven't received it yet though.

    Good luck and congrats!

I've been calling U.S Consulate in Dublin, but no trace of our case yet, therefore no sign of packet 3.

    Hope that helps!

The best is to call - like every few days and keep the track on things! Give them a shout!

    Cheers!

  10. Thanks for all the help! It's greatly appreciated.

I think I will go ahead and get the medical though... Cheers!

You should be fine, they never asked me for any paperwork at the doc.

Thanks for the info! I think I will go ahead and get it done, and keep on calling the consulate every few days to check up on my case. Cheers

  11. The embassy won't have any knowledge of your file until they actually receive it. And even after it gets there, it can sit around for a while before anyone touches it. Ours sat there for like 17 days or something before anyone did anything with it.

I asked my husband if he had to show anything to the doctor from he embassy but he can't remember. I'd call the doctor and see if he needs to see something from them before he'll do the exam. Just let him know you're still waiting on the information pack from Dublin.

Thanks a mill! I appreciate that! I think, that's what I'm going to do, call the doctor today and find out if it's okay for me to attend the medical.

Geez... I guess i will keep on bugging the embassy until they get down to work on my case! 17 days... I'm getting so anxious I don't think I will be able to sit still until i get my packet 3.

    Cheers!

  12. Quick Question...our case is in a transit from NVC to U.S Embassy in Dublin ( left NVC 20th April). I called the embassy today, but they still have no record of our case...

I do have the NVC number DBL.......

few weeks ago i found out that the waiting time for the medical is nearly a month, so i scheduled it when we got our NOA2...and it's this Tuesday ( 3rd May)...

Hence my question: Can I still go and get my medical done, although i have not received the packet 3 yet?....it should be any day now....

I don't want them to tell me later to redo my medical...it costs 350 euro in Ireland!

  14. Give them a week or so... they might have some delay....if it's not the delay - your package might be missing sth and might not be accepted for processing - if so - don't panic - then they will just send it back and you can file again with everything.

I'm afraid you have no other option than to wait and see for another week or two...good luck!

  15. What's your status in U.S? If you are still waiting for your K1 visa, and are just visiting U.S you cannot work in the U.S. If you came to U.S on K1 visa and did not have your status adjusted, nor did you get a work permit - nope you can't work.

The question is what is your status? I think you're timeline is a bit out of date. Please update it or provide more info and ppl will be able to share the info, cheers!

  16. Hey, I hope you are doing good!

I hope the explanation below answers your questions:

EAD = Employment Authorization Document - This is one card.

AP = Advance Parole - A sheet of paper which authorizes you to leave and re-enter US while your GC is being processed.

Green Card (GC) - This is a separate card.

Although, I did read somewhere that the USCIS is making some provisions to combine the EAD/AP document.

    I hope this helps!

    KnR aka slider100

AP and EAD are already combined into 1 card if you file for both.
