Je & wyn,
You're welcome, if you feel you received the answers you needed, you can ask a mod to lock this thread or close it
Yup I got all the answers I needs...thanks so very much for my vj family and all the members who get out of their way and time to give their comments and advise, I deeply appreciate that. And also to the person who commented negatively even though its out of proportion, but I would like to say, I would still respect your opinion
it's the first time I ever posted a question topic here in vj though I been a member for a while, but it's a nice experience
.
Can u please help me on how I can close the topic, honestly I don't know how, since like what I have said it's my first time doing this.
Thanks so very much again guys, and God bless u all!

The OP came asking a question about AOS for her husband, not to be scolded like a child and made to look like a slave labor worker. It's not our business if her husband babysat or not. It's their life, and to imply she was using him and deny him SSN and pension, is not anyone's business and wrong.
Thanks so much Mary Lou for coming for the rescue
it's very well appreciated

please, just read the guides and fill out the paperwork! its very very easy!!! it seems u waiting for so long shows your inability to get things done. im not tyring to be rude, but u waited this long.
we already told u that he will get a 10 year greencard. it is the same form! the interview will approve you for the 10yr gc. and no, u can not get a SSN until you get your EAD card - he is out of status. that takes about 3 months.
so fill out the i485 out and the biographic forms as well as the sponsor form and medical. or hire a lawyer if u want someone to fill out the forms and gather the information for you
I apologize if I became so annoying and redundant with my questions, but I appreciate your being straight forward
it's just been awhile since I process my K1 petition without the help of any lawyer, only with the help of all the members here in visa journey like yourself that I'm so grateful with. Don't worry I will kick my ### now and get the paperwork ready
I really Appreciate Your toughness...sometimes it's a necessary for like me who is so lenient. Thanks so much again for all the advise. Have a great weekend!

The i130 is only needed if they did not marry within the 90 days of the foreign fiancés entry
Hi p-ana thank you for your advise. I believe you are right I just need to file the AOS NOT the I-130 since we got married less than the 90 days Grace period. But one quick question and clarification , since my husband was married to me and been staying here for almost 5 years, so obviously I don't need to removed the conditional status anymore? Meaning he can get the 10 years green card once the AOS is approved? And one more question, can I still get SSN for my husband now even though the I- 194 had already expired? I need your inputs here. Thank you!

He did not work -- he married the right lady - They will ask to see bank, cash receipts and proof he got no money at all - not even working as a helper, they will ask "what did he do with his time" - Be ready. Look at the lady who was deported to Mexico, new game will be played now - we all worry.
Hi piste...thank you for the compliment... in fairness to my husband, he was not able to work coz he helped my daughter to take care my 4 small grandkids. And thank god though I'm the only one working, it's not been so tough...I guess I still married a very wonderful man, putting the needs of others first on top of his own
. The case of that Mexican lady I believe is a complicated one, but I understand your concern and I appreciate that. That's why I'm trying now to put things in perspective.
your views, opinion and advise is very well appreciated. Thanks again!

@sparkles_ thanks so much and somehow for a feeling of relief
-
@sparkles_ thanks for the advise can you please send me again that 1800 number?
-
@caliliving oh yeah yeah that's what actually I'm trying to say that after 2 years and 10 months of LPR we can proceed for naturalization
-
@caliliving thank you....yeah that's what I'm trying actually to explain it turns out to be blessings:) coz I save money and time plus after 2 years and 10 months I believe he can file for US citizenship since he us been continously staying here, correct me again if I'm wrong.:)
-
@caliliving thanks for your response, but one quick question since you waited for 3 years did you file directly the I-30? And not the usual process of adjustment of status from the K1 coz as far I could remember the AOS from the K1 had more steps to do, like removal of conditional immigrant status while in I-30 it's like it's a petition for an alien husband, wherein there will no more conditional status since we been married for almost 5 years. Correct me if I'm wrong.
-
@geowrian oh yeah I apologize what I mean is the I -130 but not the the usual AOS process that my husband have to go thru from the K1 visa, what I mean is to just directly file for a petition as a husband of an American citizen because thru that I believe I will be saving alot of time and steps to go thru, and since he was been married to me already for almost 5 years so we don't need to go thru the removal of conditional status anymore, correct me if I'm mistaken.thanks you!
-
@Hypnos Thanks alot for you help....:)
-
@Hypnos hi thanks alot but can you please sent me again the link coz for any reason it was not attached
-
@geowrian yes I'm the petitioner I'm a US citizen and with did get married within 90 days he arrived here 3/9/2012 and we got married 5/26/2012
I'm just a bit confused coz I was thinking if I can skip the AOS from the original K1 petition and instead directly file instead the IR1 since he is already married to and US citizen who is me, so I was thinking it will be just the same I could save several steps in doing that. I'm not sure as well if that would be a correct thing to do. Please advise
-
Thank you so much for your rely geowrian , I appreciate it, my husband did not travel or work since he came in here in the US nothing was done even SSN i was not able to get,,,just clarification do you mean I need to file I -30, but why do I need to File also AOS?
-
I petition my fiance 5 years ago as K1 everything went all ok, he came in here in the US we been married for almost 5 years already and living here in the US.The problem is I did not process all the necessary adjustments since then, please don't ask anymore why, Want to ask your opinion guys if I can just instead apply for a petition as a husband instead of adjusting his status from K1, there is no problem with other things just the very long delay of filing his status. Please help, need badly your advise.

This question goes out to all the Philippine interviewers. And their experences,After the interview how long does it take on the average to get your passport back, And is there a quicker way in getting it once you have been approved? I am just wondering if we can pick it up at the embassy or we have to use the courier?
my fiance had the interview and passed FEB 6, 2012(MON)...VISA IN HAND FEB 14,2012 (TUESDAY) ...SO IT TAKES 6 BUSINESS DAYS FOR US.
-
Thank you, Until now we didn't have it yet we called friday feb 17 and still nothing.Hopefully this monday will call them again.
i would suggest when u call to ask what is the status of your visa bec the usual, and normal trend is if it is approved on the interview it takes 2 business days to have an official aprroval of the consul then the printing of the visa as what i stated on the timeline i created after aprroval from the interview, most probably its on the stage that the consul needs to officially approve it still, that needs some further review of the paperworks submitted, so better ask the person u will speak with when u call, btw its a US holiday on monday feb 20 (presidents day) so call tues instead. good luck!!!

Hi edwardtErsa4ever,
I would say renew your cenomar when its close to your interview like 3 weeks close or so,a friend of mine she has an interview with 3 months old cenomar, consular asked her to renew her cenomar b4 she the visa,Co has different brain, and knowledge, every case is unique, some of the applicant, never asked to renew, but some CO want to make sure that u didn't get married b4 u fly to US,so to have peace of mind, renew it like I said 3 weeks b4 your intrview,I know its expensive, but better well prepared than wait and sorry, good luck
Ladyinred
I TOTALLY AGREE I HAD MY FIANCE GET A FRESH CENOMAR AND NBI 2 WEEKS BEFORE THE INTERVIEW DATE, HE HAD HIS INTERVIEW AND PASS ON FEB 6... EVEN THE I-134 I DATED IT 2 WEEKS BEFOR THE INTERVIEW... DONT TAKE CHANCES IF U HAVE TIME TO GET FRESH ONE DO SO BETTER THAN BE DELAYED FOR FEW WEEKS AND HAVE 221G JUST BECAUSE OF THAT WHEREIN IT COULD BE AVOIDED...GOODLUCK!

Just curious what kind of prices people are getting for Airline tickets from Manila to USA.
What airline did you fly one way from manila to USA and what was the price?
Has Anyone had a good experience with a travel agency here in manila? If so what is the name?
Would like to fly Asiana or non-usa airline but keep getting message due to philippine law they cannot book tickets online.
Had horribe experience with Delta in the past.. and do not wish to fly them again.
i bought a ticket for my fiance to fly to new york on mar 9, 2012 i bought it in the philippines thru my sister. it cost me $735 taht already includes the travel tax via cathay pacific mnl-hongkong, then hongkong jfk it was i believe very reasonable price and almost direct flight to new york plus the lay over in hongkong is only 1 hour, i guess its a good fliht for first timers, i could give u the info if ur interested just message me.
