Will our petition be terminated? It has been a year, what do we do? |

My fiance (beneficiary) received their NVC letter on Jan. 21st, 2020, and embassy letter on Feb. 6th, 2020. Due to COVID shutdowns, he has been unable to schedule an appointment, and now we're coming up on a year. On the NVC website, it says, "Secretary of State shall terminate the registration (petition) of any alien who fails to apply for an immigrant visa within one year of notice of visa availability" but I'm confused about if this applies to K1's since they are non-immigrant visas that are treated like immigrant visas. I just want to know if our petition will be terminated because we've been unable to move forward at all for a year. Any instructions on what to do now so our petition isn't terminated would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! I'm so anxious.

Hi, Me and my fiance met last year during the pandemic - I'm in London he's in US. We met once so far (November) as british citizens are not allowed to travel to US. During his first visit he had to quarantine for 14 days so we only managed to take few photos at home (roughly 5). We can provide chat history, face time logs. He's visiting again in February and we are planning to gather more evidence. Will what we have be enough to submit the application and continue collecting evidence if necessary to provide later on? Thanks

Hi everyone, just looking for a little guidance on what to include as evidence regarding my credit report (Part 3, Item 11 of the I-944). The instructions for the I-944 say: "If you do not have a credit report or credit score, provide documentation that demonstrates that you do not have a credit report or score with a credit bureau. You may provide evidence of continued payment of bills if there is no credit report or credit score." I received a letter from a credit company stating that I do not have a credit score/record to include as evidence, as per the instructions. Is it also a requirement for me to include past bills etc. to 'support my claim of creditworthiness'? It says in the instructions 'you may provide evidence..' which implies to me that it is not a requirement, especially since I am able to include documentation that demonstrates that I do not have a credit report. Would I be correct in assuming this? I do not have much to show as evidence of payment of bills since I live with my wife and brother in law who pay the rent, bills and other expenses. Any advice?

Hi all! Trying to figure out how to get home as have had a death in the family - any help appreciated. I have a Greencard through my husband (K-1 then AOS) which needs the conditions removing at in April. Just in the process of gathering evidence and filling out form i-175 now. From what I understand entering the UK (am British passport holder) I will quarantine for 5 days then take a pre-booked test. Coming back is what I am worried about - I won't leave until I have my NOA (just in case, even thought the GC is valid through Jan, feb, march) from what I understand I would be able to return as I am classed as permanent resident? Is that correct? Would I also have to take a PCR test 2 days before returning? I will quarantine when I get back to NY Thanks guys Kim

I filed for the K1 November 2019 and in June 2020 I had a breakdown caused by external triggers in which I self harmed and got referred to a psychologist who went on to diagnose me with eupd/bpd. I am hoping to be discharged from the psychologist in two weeks time and the my next check in. i also have scars from self harm in 2014 which was the last time I d self harmed before the breakdown and they were unreported to my gp. as of right now I m completely stable and steady, and haven t so much as thought about self harming since then. I have had a steady full time job since March 2020 and before then I held a job full time since September 2018, the only reason I changed jobs was because I was made redundant in february 2020. I take medication each night and both of the medications are the lowest doses of them. i know I will need a letter from my GP saying I m not at risk to myself or others with my diagnosis and treatments and if I m not discharged from my psychologist in two weeks I will get the same letter from them. is there anything else I need to do to make this go as smoothly as it can so I can be reunited with my fianc e?
