US Immigration from United Kingdom

Hi guys,

So stupidly, I put my maiden name on all the paperwork as I didn't realise I could change it then to my married name when filing. Anyway fast forward almost a year, I have my SSN and EAD, all in my maiden name. I was told I can maybe change it in the green card interview (I tried to send a letter to change it before I got my EAD but they didn't receive it in time), I have my interview next Friday, so could I ask them to change it then?

I have my marriage certificate, but mine isn't the type where it has "married name" or anything, it just has both our names and I used my maiden name so not sure if this would even be proof of name change.

I know I could wait and change it for citizenship or replace my green card, but that's a lot of money and I really wanted it changed asap. Any help would be appreciated. I'm kicking myself for not doing this at the start but hey

My husband and I have been married for almost two years. His resident green card expires next year so I m just wanting to get some information as to what forms need to filed in order to get his 10 year green card? Any help will be much appreciated

I called USCIS to confirm my Biometrics appointment tomorrow afternoon but the Information Specialist confirmed that all Field Offices and Application Support Centers will be closed.

I did not receive any indication of this from USCIS but having read this in another thread, I called up. Apparently, the offices will reschedule the appointments and notify people.

Trying to apply for CRBA at the London embassy. My wife will be attending the CRBA interview; my question is, do I need to send my original US passport with her for the interview, or can I send a notarized copy? I am sending the original naturalization certificate, and a notarized copy of DS 3053.

I know I am asking a very general question here and it depends on each individuals case and the added delays of Covid, but how long can I generally expect my visa to be approved by.

If I was to be more specific, before we first filed in September 2020, we thought I would be able to get approved and move within a year by August-September 2021, but now I am unsure of that timeline.

The reason I am asking is because I am finishing my studies by this summer and entering the education field as a teacher. However, with teaching, unlike other jobs I believe, I would need to apply now for a September start and even if I wanted to leave my job, the earliest it would be is December. Even then, I would need to file a notice of leave in October months in advance and is generally not good practice to leave a teaching job within the first few months as a NEW teacher and leave the school hanging to find a replacement that quick. So my dilemma here is whether I should still apply for a September teaching job whilst I wait for my visa or just stay at home after summer with the risk of staying home jobless for months on end.

So what I'm asking is, what is MORE LIKELY - getting my visa approved around summer (Aug-Sep), around December 2021 or in 2022 possibly? Just so I can make suitable career plans after my studies this summer before my move.
