Hi all

The day for my flight is arriving soon and im starting to put a to do check list of things to do. This is what I have so far from reading previous messages, in no particular order:

1. Bank account - put me in a joint bank account with my USC spouse.

2. Credit score - put me as authorised in USC credit card.

3. Sort out driving license.

4. Declare my non resident status to my current country and register in my consulate.

5. Qualifications - how important is to get qualifications transferred if ive been working for years? Also sign up to get a PE license.

6. Learn about how the bizarre healthcare system works and learn how to get my prescriptions.

7. Learn the basics on taxes and pensions in the US.

8. Anything around identity fraud i need to do? I see so many horror stories about how anyone will open credit cards in your name.

9. Get a US phone number.

10. Job hunting.

All ideas and tips appreciated, am I missing things?

Silence from embassy on K1 withdrawal

Hi everyone,

I have sent two written, signed and dated letters now to the US Embassy London a month apart from each other requesting that my K1 application be withdrawn and have heard nothing back from them. I sent the second one as recorded mail and it was definitely received by the embassy.

I have since used the embassy's contact form notifying them of my situation and they have not responded to that either.

In my now sent off i-130+i-485 I said that my K1 application was withdrawn as I had already sent the request to the embassy and figured that my i-129F petition would be withdrawn by the time my AOS was looked at. Will this be an issue for USCIS if I put withdrawn for my I-129F on the form but can't get the embassy to actually respond to my request?

Thanks for any help

So I submitted my I-751 and it was revived 2 weeks ago.

I paid with credit card and submitted the relevant form. I ve been checking my credit card statement everyday and nothing.

I messed up and put the cover letter with the credit card form behind it. I know, idiot.

When should I call? When should I expect a rejection? Will I give it a month?

thanks guys, you re all great!

N400 Interview Supporting Documents Question
7:50 pm February 4, 2021

I have my interview next month and the letter says to bring the originals of any supporting documents that I attached with the N400 application. I attached:

  • Current account bank statements x 4 (one each year from 2017 - 2019)
  • Credit card statements x 2 (one from 2019 and 2020)
  • Car insurance proof
  • Lease contract 2016 - 2019
  • Tax return 2017, 2018 and 2019
  • Pictures

I have a couple of questions about this:

  1. Do they really need ALL originals or do IO's tend to focus on one type of evidence over the other? From the progress report threads I've noticed that IO's usually ask for tax returns.
  2. Can I bring tax transcripts instead of returns even though it was the returns I submitted? That would be a lot of paper!
  3. If they need a tax return and not a transcript, can it just be the latest return or do they require multiple years?
  4. Do I bring additional evidence that I didn't submit when filing my N400 (2020/2021 statements)?
  5. Do they need copies of the pictures?

Thanks!
