Hi I have questions about the form I-864 Affidavit of Support. I just married my spouse last month and just summited i-130 & I-130A. I met my spouse in US while she is on B-2 visa. I didn't want her to go back to her country and she doesn't want to overstay her visa. So we got married and file AOS. My step children (her children one of them is under 18) is living in her home country. We will apply for them. We will file i-130 for them sparsely for each. I have questions, In my spouse's I-864 Affidavit of Support Form "Part 3". should I ALSO answer item number 3 ( "I am sponsoring the following faintly members who are immigrating more than 6 months after the principal immigrant" ) apart from answer "yes" on item number 1 ("sponsoring the principal immigrant") ? I think since I can only apply I-130 for my step children now and form i-130 doesn't request form I-864 as required supporting document, I should separate the case and answer yes on number 1 is this correct? Another question on this form is Part 5. I shouldn't count 1 in Item number 3 ("if you are currently married enter "1" for your spouse") even though we are married because items number 1 to 7 are under "Person NOT sponsored in this affidavit", is it corrected? Thank you

Hello again everyone, As I have progressed to the NVC stage, pandora's box of questions has been opened. Here is the context: My wife's (USC) tax transcripts do not show the sufficient income requirement due to us having lived in Thailand for three years before beginning the immigration process. Her current job pays well over the income requirement, however tax filing for 2022 hasn't started yet. Will we need to find a joint sponsor for the affidavit of support, or can we supply pay stubs and a work contract to show that she makes enough money in the US? Thanks in advance, Dewald

Hello all, I am trying to open a joint bank account at chase with my wife, but they say we can only open it with her maiden name. Although to do this they say we still need a utility bill with that name on it. What is the best way to do this? I currently have socal Edison for electricity and Verizon for my phone bill. I changed her name for her phone number on the account but I don't think it will show up until next month. Is there a faster option? Or rather another good bank in socal that doesn't require a utility bill for form of ID? Thank you!

Hello everyone, This question has been asked a lot, but I have had difficulty finding an answer by reading through other threads. Here is my context: My I130 was approved yesterday. When I began filing, I was living in South Africa but have since moved to Thailand. I have a work permit and all the required documents to change consulates, my question is just how I would approach this? Would I need to contact NVC once I receive my welcome letter, or do I simply fill out the NVC stage forms with my new address and bring all the needed evidence to the interview? Thanks in advance, Dewald & Brittney

Hello i hope this is the right place to post this question / questions. if not please feel free to move the thread. Our situation: I'm the petitioner for my fianc who is currently living in Thailand, im in South Florida. We have filled our K1 an received our NOA1 in May of 2022 so we are currently in line like everybody else. My fianc has 3 kids one 17 who will be staying in Thailand because next year she will be attending collage one who is 11 who will be leaving with her mom (My Fiance) when the K1 interview process is over and she an her mom are allowed to enter the U.S. Also one who is 9 who will be staying with his grandfather for about a year after my fiance an step daughter leave Thailand an have gotten settled here in the US. All 3 kids are listed on the I129F in the appropriate place on the application. What im wondering about is when our I129F / K1 finally gets to that interview stage. It`s my understanding that the child will have to do a D160 along with her mom, get medical records, immunization records, police back ground check like her mom an then attend the interview with her mom. is that all or am i missing something? For her son who is 9 who is going to stay with his grandfather for about a year will he need the same as his sister when we get ready to send for him.? or will he need completely different stuff? I read somewhere that we might be able to get his grandfather an my fiance`s son here on a B2 visa an then maybe file for a change of status for my stepson.. which doesn't make any sence to me. But then again i think im in a state of confusion most of the time trying to figure all this stuff out.
