Filed for my wifes I751 back in November of 2021, Just filed for her citizenship (N400) on the 19th of November this year, only 20 so days ago. All of a sudden.... Bam! I-751 approval, and card in the mail all in the same day! Probably get the interview notice for the N400 next week. Don't know how USCIS is all of a sudden fast tracking my cases, but I'll take it!!!

Had our interview in June cancelled because of an interpreter no-show (we had contracted someone from a local agency to be available by phone). Showed up at rescheduled 11/29 interview and a second interpreter we hired was standing by waiting for our call. Instead, USCIS interviewer called another number somewhere within the organization and was connected to an interpreter almost immediately. Wish we had been this lucky 5 months ago but we were approved and I guess all's well that ends well.

my wife just got employment authorization, hopefully green card soon. she'd like to get citizenship ASAP. is it usually necessary to have a work/tax/SS history in the US to get citizenship? i ask because we're retired and not working, but maybe she should do some work if it helps the citizenship process. thanks

my wife just got an I-797 employment authorization as part of the AOS I-485 application. she actually has no real plans to work, we're both basically retired. but it would be advantageous for her to get SS in 10 years (i know its necessary to work 10 year, 4 points a year to get 40 points to be eligible for SS). Also i'd like her to get my survivor benefits when i eventually kick the bucket. given she doesn't have a real job, what's the alternative? i'm guessing just file taxes and SS as self employed and make up a job like house keeper, nanny or something. do you think the IRS and SS admin would take a dim view of someone doing that if not working. usually they what to find people who don't pay tax on income, not the other way round, so i'm thinking OK. also, down the road i'd like her to get citizenship. is that easier if she has paid taxes and SS or don't they care? what do you all think? thanks

I had a CICS account established in 2015 when I applied for US citizenship, and I became a naturalized citizen in 2018. I am going to apply for immigrating my sister now and thought I could/should use my existing online account to make a new application for her. But in filling out a new online I-130, it wants my alien registration number. This is despite my answering yes to being asked if I m a US citizen. Plus, I don t see how my old alien registration could apply since I m now a citizen. However, when I try to leave it blank, It responds with a message This account has already been verified using a different A-Number. The A-number in this accounts profile is xxxxxx2465. If you need to apply for a benefit for someone else using the A-number you entered, you should sign out of this account and create a new account for them at myaccount.uscis.gov. So it quotes my alien number from my previous application. In spite of the message it lets me continue filing out the form. I m just not sure at this point if this will have some detrimental effect in the processing. I suppose I could just go with the paper form but it looks like they want you to have an account. Has anybody had any experience with this or have any idea how to proceed? thanks
