paying social security without a real job

my wife just got an I-797 employment authorization as part of the AOS I-485 application. she actually has no real plans to work, we're both basically retired. but it would be advantageous for her to get SS in 10 years (i know its necessary to work 10 year, 4 points a year to get 40 points to be eligible for SS). Also i'd like her to get my survivor benefits when i eventually kick the bucket.

given she doesn't have a real job, what's the alternative? i'm guessing just file taxes and SS as self employed and make up a job like house keeper, nanny or something. do you think the IRS and SS admin would take a dim view of someone doing that if not working. usually they what to find people who don't pay tax on income, not the other way round, so i'm thinking OK.

also, down the road i'd like her to get citizenship. is that easier if she has paid taxes and SS or don't they care?

what do you all think? thanks

Can I reuse CICS account for new type of I-130 application

I had a CICS account established in 2015 when I applied for US citizenship, and I became a naturalized citizen in 2018.

I am going to apply for immigrating my sister now and thought I could/should use my existing online account to make a new application for her. But in filling out a new online I-130, it wants my alien registration number. This is despite my answering yes to being asked if I m a US citizen. Plus, I don t see how my old alien registration could apply since I m now a citizen. However, when I try to leave it blank, It responds with a message

This account has already been verified using a different A-Number. The A-number in this accounts profile is xxxxxx2465. If you need to apply for a benefit for someone else using the A-number you entered, you should sign out of this account and create a new account for them at myaccount.uscis.gov.

So it quotes my alien number from my previous application.

In spite of the message it lets me continue filing out the form. I m just not sure at this point if this will have some detrimental effect in the processing. I suppose I could just go with the paper form but it looks like they want you to have an account.

Has anybody had any experience with this or have any idea how to proceed?

thanks

Scanning NVC Docs

Hello everyone.

Just a quick question. I have already uploaded my docs to the NVC and we are waiting for the DQ. According to the NVC scanning and uploading tips (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-1-submit-a-petition/step-2-begin-nvc-processing/scanning-and-uploading-tips.html), if a document is blank on the back they ask you to not scan it (the back part). My question is, since I have already uploaded my document fronts because they are blank on the back, would it be a good idea to just rescan and reupload them again to be on the safe side? This would be done through the submit other documents function.

I'm asking this because I saw a post on one of the Facebook groups about a person being given an RFE to submit the back of his documents.

Issues filing N400 online

I have tried to start the N400 application online, and get so far before an " Unable to retrieve your application" error pops up. Only get thru the first 2-3 pages. I exit to the home area, and see the pending N400 application in my profile, and when I try to continue it it takes me back to the error " Unable to retrieve your application". I have tried multiple browsers, and deleted the filing, and started over a few times with the same error showing up. Have only been trying for the past hour or so. Guess I'll wait until tomorrow to try it again. I am assuming it is an error on their end, as I have successfully filed other forms online with no issues ( Just completed I130 online, well, case is closed now, got the visa and everything, but that went very smoothly online). Just wondering if anyone filed N400 online and had this issue? Thanks in advance.
