US Immigration from Spain

Hello VJ friends,

I need some advice on a tough situation for a dear friend of mine. She came here on a k1 visa and filed AOS a month ago. But ever since she came, her now husband has been abusive to her, (physically and verbally) and threatening to screw her over with immigration. She doesn't know what to do, if he can get her to be deported or have a ban to enter the US if she leaves. What would be the next steps for her? Call a lawyer or go to the police with the evidence she has collected over the past months? What chances she has to continue the process without him?

I thought my spousal petition was in the Nebraska Service Center, but I'm not sure. How do I know where it is for sure? The I-797 was received from the Texas Service Center, if this helps.

We have been awaiting the NOA2 for 11 months and our case just changed from received and notified to actively being reviewed . I ve heard this could not really mean anything, or that people s case will stay in the actively being reviewed stated for months.

just curious what others experience was. If it was quick after it said it was actively being reviewed, or if we shouldn t get our hopes up.

Someone here received a 693 medical deficiency notice after applying for AOS under a K1 visa? Im so confused because I know I didn't have to submit any medical stuff but I already sent the form DS3025 (vaccinations) complete with my AOS package.

Any suggestions?

So, I know this topic has been talked ad nauseam, but I came across the USCIS website that specifically states that I can send a photocopy:

Quote

You do not need to obtain a Certified True Copy if the U.S. government asks for a copy of your certificate for official U.S. government business. For example, if the U.S. Department of State requests your Certificate of Naturalization when you apply for a U.S. passport, you may use a normal photocopy that has not been authenticated. You may use a normal photocopy of your certificate for legitimate U.S. government business.

So, is this new? Can I send the application with just the two photocopies? I'd hate to send the original and then it gets lost or something.
