Hi, What taxes documents should i take with me to the interview ? I usually file my taxes and get form 1040 after filing and these are the documents that I ve uploaded along with my application online (I applied online). Are forms 1040 the tax transcripts that i keep hearing from people of tax transcripts are something else ? Also, I live in New Jersey and work in NYC, for 2021 taxes i filed and finished the federal taxes as well as New Jersey tax and got my refund for both, except for NYC tax which the status shows that they ve sent me a letter asking for an additional information and I m not really sure what information they need (haven t received the letter yet). However, they owe me $286 and I m just afraid that this letter would be asking me for more money to pay (which is fine, if they found a mistake while filing and it turns to be that I owe them not they owe me). My concern is during the interview when the officer asks the tax question : Do you owe any taxes to the government, state? Should I answer yes or no ? As of now I m not owing anyone anything but this letter I m waiting for which i don t know what it is might state that i owe them? What should I answer in this case?! Sorry for the long story, thank you.

Hi all, I became a permanent resident on June 14, 2019 through marriage and I m still married. From my search online I learned that I could apply for naturalization (N400) 90 days prior completing the three years. My concerns : 1- Does that mean I could apply on March 15, 2022? When is the earliest and legal date to apply ? 2- Does anyone know how much time the process takes until the interview in the state of New Jersey? 3- Do I need to take my wife and son to the interview and ceremony? I would truly appreciate your answers. Thank you.

Hello all, I am asking this question for someone else. He got married to his now-wife over video call. He was in Saudi Arabia and she was in the US. After this, the religious official (who was physically present in the US with the bride), wrote them a religious marriage certificate (holds no legal standing in the US to be registered as a marriage). She then brought this certificate with her to Saudi Arabia when the two of them finally met. They took this certificate to the American consulate in Saudi Arabia and had it attested there and in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Based on the USCIS website, it seems like this should be valid: Quote Exceptions: Only the Saudi government is authorized to create legally-binding marriages that are valid for immigration purposes. In the cases of third country nationals who get married outside of a Sharia Court in Saudi Arabia, that marriage must be endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. There are MOFA offices located in most major cities. For example, a third country national who performs his/her wedding ceremony at his/her country s embassy in Saudi Arabia must have their wedding certificate and/or marriage contract endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will affix a small stamp with two crossed sabers and a tree on it when they endorse the document. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/SaudiArabia.html The question I had was, will the USCIS still accept this document even though the marriage was done online? I know surrogate marriages are only allowed if you later show proof that you consummated the marriage but I thought that was only for fiance visas. Thank you!

Glad to say we got our green card approved on 1/24/22, the day of the interview, and received it in hand at home on 1/31/22. The question is about the SSN. We never got the EAD since we got the green card first. Does USCIS already submit an application for a SSN on our behalf or do we have to go do it ourselves? Thank you!
