Hello, I have been tracking my N-400 case - in the post interview phase (interview done on 06th January, 2021). I've noticed in the last few days that the "estimated time until case decision" in my USCIS online account - is being updated on a daily basis - I remember seeing it was 23 days at one point and it says 4 days as of today. How reliable is this estimated time? Should I really expect a decision to be taken on my N-400 interview in 4 days? (The interview itself appeared to be a success as I was given the N-652 form which said my N-400 application is being recommended for approval). I kindly invite your responses. Thank You.

Hi everyone! Me and my bf have almost finished putting together our I-129F petition, and I just have a few thoughts come up that I wanna clarify. Does only meeting once matter? I spent 80 days with him from March to May this year. We've known each other for 13 years and obviously New Zealand (where I'm from) having mandatory government isolation makes further meeting almost impossible. Does this matter? I know the criteria is to have met at least ONCE in the last 2 years, but I just was wondering if it looked bad if you've only met once. I guess it depends on the circumstances. Also as a supplementary document to question 54 about the circumstances of meeting, should I include a one-page letter describing how we 'met' online and how our relationship came to be? I read another thread on here where people had said it's not necessary cos that's not what they're asking for, but, it just feels kinda strange not including anything in the petition about how our relationship even exists haha. I know the proof of relationship stuff is more for the interview and later parts of this, so maybe I'm just being paranoid! Let me know!

Hi, just wondering if anyone has recent experience with timeframes for IR-1 interviews at the US Consulate in Auckland. Our first NVC submission was April 30th and we resubmitted two documents on June 8th (everything else was accepted). We were hoping to hear back last week but of course NVC processing has slowed down recently. I would be very interested to hear about any recent Auckland timelines - how long after DQ an interview date was received and how far in advance the interviews in Auckland are being booked right now. The website say 30 days for non-immigrant visa interviews but I can't find any info about immigrant visas. Thanks in advance.

| "Single" on 2021 Taxes |

Hi guys, I'm having a mild panic attack because I just realized I filed my taxes as "Single" - We both live in NZ, married in January 2021 & I filed taxes early April 2021. No mal intent here, I just am still new to marriage and I usually have my dad help me file and he listed me as single (probably out of habit) and I didn't closely review. We married in NZ and both currently live and work here full time but I have continued to file my foreign earned income form every year. Is this going to be a big issue come time for NVC or our interview? Any advice on what I should do? The U.S. tax system is complex enough and even more complex when you add in the fact we are recently married and both earning foreign incomes, not sure what the requirements are here since he's not a U.S. citizen or if it's going to cause me issues in the future. Any insight appreciated ! Cheers

Hi everyone! I just joined on here after hearing how helpful it has been for so many people so I'm really happy to be here! I'm currently putting my K1 application/package together, which is a lot, but after lots of research I have a pretty good idea of what to include and what order it all goes in and how it should look. We initially were thinking of using Rapidvisa, but decided not to after a lot of reviews saying that it wasn't really worthwhile and made the process take longer. My bf also is feeling a bit paranoid that we'll unknowingly miss something or do something wrong, and has considered getting a (cheap) lawyer to check the package before we send it. Do you guys think this is necessary? I feel pretty confident about putting this together but I do have a little bit of paranoia that we'll mess something up and I'd hate for the process to take longer if we need to re-do something. This is my understanding of what the package should look like: -
G-1145 form -
Cover letter/table of contents -
I-129F form (with original signature from petitioner) -
Letter of intent from both parties (I was thinking of using this template) -
Proof of having met - with a title page outlining all the evidence that will be provided. all pictures/screenshots labelled. I'm thinking, all my boarding passes, tickets of stuff we did together, pictures of us together. And also some stuff proving the relationship and our time knowing each other before meeting -
Passport-style photos of both of us, with names on the back in a plastic zip-lock bag -
US citizen's birth certificate copy (front and back) -
My passport copy -
My I-94 record -
And some kinda proof of payment - I've seen people attach cheques but, I'm gathering you can pay online too? So, am I on the right track? Also, a few more quick questions: - Does every page have to be signed/initialed?
- Do I (the beneficiary) have to sign the I-129F anywhere? It doesn't say it needs to be signed by the beneficiary
- Does not being engaged matter? This was a mutually agreed thing so we're not engaged, which I know is a more uncommon route to take
- Should I write a page of our 'story' of how we started talking somewhere? I've seen someone do that
Sorry for the mess and millions of questions, I really wanna get this right and I'm quite stressed! Thank you!
