We have been accepted for interview but are contemplating if we're making the right decision moving to the US. Does anyone know what happens if we change our minds and cancel the visa? Are we allowed to apply later down the road? I've looked online and can't find the right words to search. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Do you have to drop off/courier documents to Auckland consulate ahead of CR-1 interview?

I notice on the Auckland consulate portion of travel.state.gov, there's a section which says "Please use the list below to determine the items that every applicant must provide to the consulate PRIOR to the immigrant visa interview. Bring your documents to the consulate the week before your interview any time between 8:00 a.m. and 12 noon Monday through Friday, except public holidays. Place them in an envelope with your case number and full name on the outside and addressed to Immigrant Visa Unit. ". My wife doesn't live in Auckland so this would not be possible. She could courier the documents up this week if necessary, but I found it odd that there was no mention of this process in any correspondence she's received from the consulate, and I don't see much mention of it here on VisaJourney either. I'm wondering if this is an out of date/irrelevant instruction. I thought it was strange that if they did want this to happen, they were relying on people to meticulously read through the travel.state.gov website rather than following the instructions directly received from the consulate.

I emailed the consulate on Thursday in the US which would have been Good Friday in NZ, so I can't expect a response from them until NZ Tuesday.

Not sure if this is a weird question but I just wanted to ask if anyone else has this same experience. Basically when I sent in my green card package (with advance parole and employment authorisation) I sectioned everything into its own part with a cover letter, however on my USCIS account they have saved documents meant for the I-485 to the advance parole section, and saved no documents to the employment authorisation section? so for example our marriage certificate is saved under I-131 Documents? As well as my wife's passport photocopy (proof of us citizenship) meant for the I-485. I'm not sure if this is just uscis's process? meaning they save everything everywhere? or if they just got confused? I'm just worried they might deny my case if they think they don't have the documents for that specific application when I provided it. or am I just panicking for nothing??

So, i was wondering if i could have some advice.

I recently filed for Adjustment of Status from a K-1 visa, and had my biometrics scheduled. However, today I received a request for evidence. It's pretty vague, and i will include the first page as an attachment but essentially they are saying we need a joint sponsor, but we included our joint sponsors signed I-864 plus an employment letter, 3 months of pay stubs and bank statements. I THINK the issue comes from the fact we didn't include his 2021 tax transcripts as he hasn't filed yet (long story IRS screwed up and they had to fix an error and it took a long time), we only included his 2020 tax transcripts, which was completely my fault and i'm happy to send in the W-2's, 1099's and form 2555.

I'm just looking to see if anyone thinks that's the issue too? and should i just upload the whole financial package again including my wife's I-864 and tax transcripts + joint sponsors I-864 and tax documents? it's difficult because basically the letter said my wife doesn't qualify as a sponsor because of her income, not that the joint sponsors information was insufficient. That's just what i'm assuming...

Any thoughts would help a lot! I always get so anxious because I feel like we filled the form out wrong, so advice is very much appreciated!

Divorced with name change, but GC and Passport still in Married name

I have been divorced since 2019, my name was changed back to my maiden name with the social security office, and my state drivers license etc is all in my married name. I decided to wait for when I file for citizenship to change it on my GC, as the cost is restrictive. Now I am wanting to travel back to NZ to see my family but my Covid vaccination card is in my maiden name. Does this name change invalidate my current GC? I have all of my documents together showing my name change, eg, divorce decree, letter from social security office, drivers license in my married name, marriage certificate, and I got a letter notarized saying that I am Samantha (maiden last name), and that it changed from Samantha (married last name) due to divorce. I called USCIS after my divorce to confirm that I could travel as long as I had proof of the marriage and subsequent divorce, and they said yes. Now with having to provide my vaccination card, and the name doesn't match my GC or passport has me worried that I may not be safe to travel with those documents. I don't want to get stuck in NZ. I tried calling USCIS again today to see if it'll be okay with my documents proving my name change, but the automated system wasn't helpful at all. I'm at a loss right now.

Thanks in advance!
