Hi everyone, I'm currently in the US working remotely with my company based in Mexico and getting paid in Mexico (My employer allowed this). I came in to the US on a K1 visa, got married and about to file my AOS. On part 3 of the I-485 Form on Employment History should I list my current job in Mexico? is it not allowed?

Hi Everyone, I noticed the Form I-864 has an expiry date of 09/30/2021, but that is still the version available at the USCIS website. (https://www.uscis.gov/es/i-864) Can I use that version? Or where can I get the updated one? Thanks!

Would accepting a large cash gift affect our case? |

Hi all, My wife and I are having a second wedding celebration in her country and my parents have offered to help finance it. We are stable financially but obviously weddings are expensive and we welcome their help. We haven t talked exact numbers but it would be on the order of a few thousand dollars. For logistical purposes, it would make more sense to for them to deposit the gift into our account so we can work on all of the transactions with the vendors in her country. If we do this, we would of course have a gift letter written with the clear conditions that we use the funds for the wedding. Is that enough? Or should we just politely decline the offer? To add, we monitor our money closely and share all our accounts (either joint or authorized users). There shouldn t be anything alarming with our finances other than potentially accepting this gift. Thank you!

My wife recently had her N-400 interview at the USCIS location in Harlingen, Texas on September 28th. Her interview went well, and she was told that she passed and that they would send her a notice to come back for her Oath Ceremony. She was not given any time-frame on that. The following day September 29th, she received an e-mail from USCIS titled 'We Have Taken Action on Your Case'. It instructed her to log in to see the update. She logged in, and saw that there was no update. It still says "Interview Was Scheduled". We have been checking daily and watching our mail, but have not seen any updates from USCIS. We have not had any technical issues with the site so far, so I am a bit concerned. We sent an e-mail to them, and they sent us an unhelpful generic response back, which told us to "wait 72 hours for an update on your case". We waited another 72 hours with no update. We also tried calling the USCIS 1-800 number, only to find out that USCIS no longer has phone support. Just that useless AI system that hangs up on you when you ask for a Representative. Her Oath Ceremony might have already been scheduled, and we have no way of seeing the notice. So here is my question. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there anything else we can do?

I found out that, and please correct me if I am wrong, that I do not need to be the financial sponsor for my husband because he has more than 40 credit hours of work. He/we would file the I864W form for him instead of the I864. To me this .sounds like good news. Here is the reason for this post: We live separately (2 different countries) but I visit him around every 3 months. I am trying to figure out if I could visit him more often because now I do not have the burden of being his financial sponsor. Although, the other part of this scenario is that actually, if I have to be his financial sponsor, I am wondering, and if anyone here can help me with this, I am wondering if I can use my assets to be his sponsor. I have an IRA that more than covers the 3x times financial responsibility. I have read of couples who live together in whatever country and they ask if they can start the green card process from wherever it is that they are living. The response I see given is that yes, you can do the process from wherever so long as you have a sponsor lined up and you have a place in the U.S. where you will live. So given the information above, I do not need to worry about the financial part right? And as far as an address in the U.S., I still will have my place there because I would be traveling back and forth. Thank you for any insights and opinions.
