Hello. Wondering if anyone has personal experience for late 2021 or 2022 on how long it takes for the green card to arrive after the packet is handed to Immigration upon arrival? Also how was it sent? Regular USPS mail? Was a signature required? If so could anyone sign for it? Thanks for any anwers

Hi! We filed for my husband's AOS (Adjustment of Status) via marriage the first week of January, with the help of a lawyer living out of state. It has all been going well and incredibly fast, and after only 6 weeks from filing, my husband already had his biometrics taken, and his EAD (Employment Authorization Document) card is on its way! But, we just realized our lawyer did not send us the form I-131 for AP (Advanced Parole) , meaning that we never signed nor filed it. (Note: his I-485 is still pending and we have not gotten a notice for the interview). My two questions are: 1. Does the EAD card come as an EAD/AP combo even when we didn't file the I-131 form? 2. Is it worth filing an I-131 even after having his EAD card and while waiting for the I-485 approval? We do have a couple of important family events abroad coming up we'd like to attend. Thanks!

My two stepdaughters, ages 14 and 18 yrs old, recently immigrated from Mexico. The 18 year old received her social security card and evidence that she is a legal permanent resident; however, my 14 year old has not received a social security card or Certificate of Citizenship. Should I expect to receive those in the mail or do I need to apply go these?

Hello VJ members, I'm super confused now, I saw on a different thread the following link: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/CDJ-Ciudad-Juarez.html There's an option to register your appointment online (my mother's documents were accepted at the NVC months ago), so... does that mean I can go ahead and schedule her appointment now? Or, should I wait until being contacted by the NVC? The last email we received from the NVC said "NVC will work with the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in CIUDAD JUAREZ, MEX to schedule an interview appointment for you" So... seeing the option of scheduling an appointment by yourself followed by the same steps I took (medical examination, fingerprints, etc) is so confusing, I just want to be sure if I should keep waiting or if it's on my end to move things forward. I appreciate any help on this. Screenshot from the website:

I dont have evidence of joint documents because we do not live together, my wife is living 75miles away from the border in Mexico, so we visit each other during the weekend twice a month. We had a nonplanned small wedding party but i do not have pictures of it because my family wasnt happy about it, they even tried to stop the wedding; my family inlaw does not know about the relationship, after what happened with my family, i called her and i said to my then fiancee "dont tell them about the wedding". My exattorney told me that the few evidence i have is sent until requested and that there's a high chance to get rejected, but i did some research and the instructions for i130 ask for evidence and affidavits. Now I am completing my i130 packet by myself through consular processing(my attorney did not help us at all), do i need to include the pictures of us (mostly selfies at restaurant, but they are many), conversations, gifts receipts and few money transfers in the initial packet? O should i wait untill they request it as my exlawyer said? I have phone logs for ten months and they are like 100 pages, should i include all of them? Do I need translations even if the interview is going to be in mexico(the instructions ask for them)? The only hard evidence i have is a postnuptial agreement signed by a texas notary to joint assests and liabilities, an holographic testament and a life insurance, but i dont know if these documents are going to be enough. I wanted to include a letter of my situation but i know that when family is not aware of the marriage is a red flag, so i am unsure about it, my inlaw family was not present at the wedding party so they eventually will know about our family problems. We love each other but the distance and our families are making this process difficult.
