ROC for Husband & Stepdaughters - One does not live with us

We will be applying to remove conditions on my husband's and stepdaughters' 2-year green cards at the end of June. There are four applicants, all of whom received their conditional residency within 90 days of each other:

  • Husband
  • Stepdaughter (lives with us in USA)
  • Stepdaughter (lives with us in USA)
  • Stepdaughter (does not live with us, still lives in home country)

My third stepdaughter is still living in Mexico, despite having received conditional residency in November 2023. At that time, she had a 1 year old son, and she has since had another baby. She has visited us on the US side of the border a few times, most recently in early November.

As we are preparing for removal of conditions, I am questioning how to address her case on the I-751. We are filing ONE I-751 application since, per the instructions, all four immigrated within 90 days of each other (first husband, then stepdaughters).

1. Her permanent address with UCIS is our home address in the US - should I use that address for Part 5 (physical address) or her address in her home country?

2. If the Mexico address is flagged, would it affect ONLY her residency, or would it affect the other three applicants?

I would really like to ensure that our application will NOT be affected by her decision to stay in Mexico, even if that means she is not able to remove conditions. I just don't know if they separate out cases like that that are on the same application.

Any input would be very appreciated!

We are helping a friend who has been in the United States for 26 years now technically illegally. She was brought here when she was 15 years old by her guardians (Grandpa & Grandma). She has been married to a US citizen for 22 years. She has 2 children over the age of 21 who are also US citizens. Is it correct that she just needs to file the I-485 to adjust status and obtain a green card? Will they still require an interview in Juarez or something for this?

F-1 Student Transition to CR1

Greetings, first time here looking for clarification and advice. Let's start from the beginning.

-My fiance first arrived here in September of 2024 on an F-1 Student Visa.

--She has maintained this status since then perfectly without a single issue. Has a 3.99 GPA, never missed a class, has only traveled home once on spring break to visit family and returned in February without incident or even a question at the border. All was pre-approved by her DSO and signed and stamped wherever needed

--We met in October 2025, she did not enter with the intention of meeting someone or immigrating.

-We are getting married mid June this year (2025), earlier than preferred but for obvious reasons.

I need to know what is the next step. What paperwork needs to be filed once the marriage license is filled out and filed. Specifically,

-What forms, when to file, and to whom

From what I have researched CR1 is the correct Visa she would be changing to through an AOS.

We have contacted a lawyer but, they quoted a $4500 fee for the whole process while relatives have suggested that the entire process can be done without a lawyer.

Thank you all in advance

CR1 and Marriage Location

My Mexican girlfriend is planning to come visit me this summer in Texas from Mexico for 8 weeks. I plan to propose before she goes back to Mexico.

She still has at least one year left of college/mandatory internships before she can live somewhere else. Based on what I've seen here, I think the CR1 is the best option for us (but maybe not)?

Should we get married in Texas while she is here or wait and marry in Mexico....or wait and marry later in Texas?

Does my Stepson Also need to file i-751? [Part 5, Question 5]

Hello,

I just prepared my wife's i-751. In Part 5, Question 5 it asks "Is this child applying with you?" Yes or No. The answer Yes. My question to the forum is simply sense I said YES to this question, does that mean I do not have to create a separate i-751 for my stepson? I assume I do not since he is a kid there is really only his name and address which is in her i-751. But obviously I need to get this right.

Help appreciated
