The goal of this thread is to form an up-to-date expectation for wait times for interview assignments at the US Consulate in Ciudad Juarez in 2025. I want to unite Visa Journey members with approved I-130 family based petitions in preference category 1 (FB-1) (US Citizen Petitioner). This thread is for you if: - You have an approved I-130 FB-1 Visa Petition
- You have completed your DS-260 and Affidavit of Support with NVC and are Documentarily Qualified (DQ'd)
- You are waiting for an interview in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico
If this is you, please share the following information with the thread. - Date you received notice from NVC that you are Documentarity Qualified (DQ'd)
- Date you received an interview assignment from NVC (if you have received one)
- Date of your interview (if you have received an interview assignment)
My hope is that this info will help you and the petitioners who come behind us. I will be organizing the info and sharing statistics here.

I don't know about you guys and I don't want to trigger anyone and not sure if this is the right place to vent but I'm doing so bad and I'm scared. Idk if my relationship can keep going if we don't get approved this year, it's beyond the willingness to keep pushing. My partner and me are autistic individuals with BPD so every goodbye from visits is worse than the previous one, the depression hits like nothing else I've felt before. We're working on trying to get a tourist visa for me to visit her because it has been so draining for her to go through all the airport process. Any advice would help a lot.

My sister-in-law is Mexican and lives in a border town. She is 65, retired, never been married, has her own simple apartment, a few thousand in a savings acct and receives a small social security monthly benefit. She has never had a US visa or been in the US. What will she have to have and show to qualify for a B visa for visits to our house and occasional border crossings for shopping etc ? Not much immigration info out there on older retired people. Are any of these policies changing under the new administration? Thanks!
