US Immigration from Mexico

Sorry in advance if this is the incorrect forum for this question, maybe someone can direct me to the right place.

I am trying to help my cousin figure out where his case status is at.

He entered the US undocumented, and has since married a US Citizen. They filed an application to have his wife petition a Permanent Resident Card several years go, and were given a LIN case number. Has of December 2018, his LIN case status is: "Case was sent to the Department of State."

After this step, his attorney filed an I-601 waiver, and it has already been APPROVED this year. After the I-601 was approved, his attorney filed the last paperwork to send to USCIS, and on July 28 2020, my cousin received and email with the image on the attachment on this post.

That email basically says that the next and last step is to wait for the consulate interview in Ciudad Juarez... but we have no idea how long the wait is. The email has a CDJ Case ID, but when we enter that number into the USCIS Case Status website, it says the number is invalid. Is there a different number that we should be looking at to get an estimated time to interview? Again, we received this email on July 28th 2020.

ARE they even conducting any interviews in Ciudad Juarez right now?

Question: will my wife need a signed letter from her ex (father of her two children) consenting them to immigrate to the USA? We are in the final stage of their AOS with the interview at the end of this month and all of the sudden this question popped into our heads.

He is aware of the children being in the USA going through the AOS process but he is a very hard person to deal with and we may not be able to obtain such letter.

So I just found out that members of the military (like myself) are able to go to an ASC and get their biometrics without needing an appointment per the USCIS website https://www.uscis.gov/archive/questions-and-answers-for-members-of-the-military

Active duty military members do not need an appointment and will be accepted on a walk-in basis at any ASC in the United States. Bring your military ID or DEP ID card with you to the ASC.

I know the 751 instructions state that we might have to submit biometrics. Should I go my nearest ASC and get them completed even though I have yet to receive a biometrics appointment?

My reasoning is that by doing this someone might get an update on my file and get my stalled file moving. Lol.

Quick info of my situation:

Applied for ROC to in July 2020.

My service center is California.

My case status has been on Case Received since July (like many other WAC July Filers)

Hello I am currently living in the USA and was wondering if anyone has heard of any interviews in cuidad Ju rez or how much time delay is the wait because of COVID??

I cancelled my I-485 interview because I was sick, that was on March, I have yet not received another appointment or heard anything about my case, has anyone else gone through this?
