My husband s 2 year green card expired in January. We applied for the 10 year card in October. We received the I-797 that said that it, along with the green card, is legal proof of his status for an additional 18 months, until July 2022. We are in the process of buying a house. The mortgage company has asked twice for his passport with the I-551 stamp. We gave them a copy of the expired GC as well as the I-797 stating he has legal status for quite some time. We explained that this is the document that proves his status, as USCIS doesn t want tons of people having to come get I-551 stamps. Are we correct in insisting these are his legal documents? What can we do if they keep insisting he needs a stamp?

My fiance and I have both had more than two jobs and more than two addresses in the past five years. How do I include these in Part 8 (Additional Information)? Does anyone have an example? And whose name do I put at the top--mine (the petitioner's) or his (the beneficiary's)? Also, do I have to include each address I lived in while in college (I recently graduated so it falls within the past 5 years)? Throughout college, I always listed my permanent address on paperwork as my family house I grew up in, so can I JUST list that one? Thanks everyone!

My wife had an IR1 visa interview scheduled in Juarez for April 2020 canceled for the pandemic. The Juarez consulate website now says all interviews for March and April 2020 have been rescheduled and if have not received a new appointment date contact the consulate. I have contacted the consulate but they say 20 to 30 days for a response. Any suggestions on what I should do next? We have an appt with a lawyer next week. Should I request a new appointment through ais.usvisa- info ? Thanks for any help

Hi all! I was freaking out because I haven't received any notice of info on our i-751 packet. Mailed USPS 1/5 Delivered on 1/7 We have been reading the forum and catching on the ongoing delays on processing the payments and sending out receipt notices so we weren't worried at all about it and figured it was normal given the chaotic year we had. But given that today, 3/4 I'm 16 days away from my card expiring, I called this morning because I was concerned about it. And the USCIS phone lady told me that the application was rejected because of payment issues. We triple checked what we sent out, Payment was there, it was correct. She couldn't give me specifics as to why but told me they emailed the packet back two days ago, on 3/2. She opened a service item request and technically someone has to call back to see if there's anything that can be done due to USCIS' delay but that can take anything from 15-20 business days. At that point I started balling my eyes out because I've been laid off due to covid-company-readjustments and I literally just got a job offer YESTERDAY. On a regular basis, for the USCIS, it takes something between 15-20 days to hear back that they received our packet or denied the payment... it took 2 months for us to hear back. We did it at the beginning of our window to do so, expecting this delays. I know that the minute we receive the packet we'll mail it all back to them with overnight delivery, that's not the issue. Has this happened to anyone else? Were you able to resolve anything with the service item request? I really don't want to lose a job that took me so long to find, I would very much appreciate any insight or help or reassurance things are moving faster (although I see they're not).

Hello Everyone, My husband arrived to the US on a K1 visa in 2012. He became a permanent resident in 2013. He finally applied for his citizenship last year based on 5 years of continuous residency. Do you think it's necessary for him to bring our marriage certificate to the Naturalization interview? He has it in two weeks and we're trying to get everything ready. Thanks for your help!
