My wife had an IR1 visa interview scheduled in Juarez for April 2020 canceled for the pandemic. The Juarez consulate website now says all interviews for March and April 2020 have been rescheduled and if have not received a new appointment date contact the consulate. I have contacted the consulate but they say 20 to 30 days for a response. Any suggestions on what I should do next? We have an appt with a lawyer next week. Should I request a new appointment through ais.usvisa- info ?

Thanks for any help

i-751 REJECTED and GC expiring in 15 days

Hi all!

I was freaking out because I haven't received any notice of info on our i-751 packet.

Mailed USPS 1/5

Delivered on 1/7

We have been reading the forum and catching on the ongoing delays on processing the payments and sending out receipt notices so we weren't worried at all about it and figured it was normal given the chaotic year we had. But given that today, 3/4 I'm 16 days away from my card expiring, I called this morning because I was concerned about it. And the USCIS phone lady told me that the application was rejected because of payment issues. We triple checked what we sent out, Payment was there, it was correct. She couldn't give me specifics as to why but told me they emailed the packet back two days ago, on 3/2. She opened a service item request and technically someone has to call back to see if there's anything that can be done due to USCIS' delay but that can take anything from 15-20 business days.

At that point I started balling my eyes out because I've been laid off due to covid-company-readjustments and I literally just got a job offer YESTERDAY. On a regular basis, for the USCIS, it takes something between 15-20 days to hear back that they received our packet or denied the payment... it took 2 months for us to hear back. We did it at the beginning of our window to do so, expecting this delays.

I know that the minute we receive the packet we'll mail it all back to them with overnight delivery, that's not the issue. Has this happened to anyone else? Were you able to resolve anything with the service item request? I really don't want to lose a job that took me so long to find, I would very much appreciate any insight or help or reassurance things are moving faster (although I see they're not).

Hello Everyone,

My husband arrived to the US on a K1 visa in 2012. He became a permanent resident in 2013. He finally applied for his citizenship last year based on 5 years of continuous residency.

Do you think it's necessary for him to bring our marriage certificate to the Naturalization interview? He has it in two weeks and we're trying to get everything ready. Thanks for your help!

Combo Card recieved with no HYPHENATION

Hello Visa Journey members!

well I finally recieved my EAD/ADVANCE PAROLE COMBO CARD last saturday 27th .

When I got married I changed my last name, I hypenated my mexican lastname with my husbands lastname , so my name on my Marriage Certificate is for example Jane Perez-Doe

all the applications and evidence sent to USCIS incluiding my marriage license, have my name like that (Hyphenated) how ever my NOAs arrived with the last name separated PEREZ DOE, no hypen or dash. when I had my biometrics, I brought this up and they told me that the system didnt allowed HYPHENS/DASH but that my final cards will have it.

NOw....I RECIEVED THE COMBO CARD and the last name is still NOT HYPHENATED: JANE PEREZ DOE.

this is really concerning me.... I tried calling USCIS CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER 1800 375 5283 and there is no WAY I can get an agent to speak to me...the automatic reply system, doesnt allow it. all I could come with is a link for a TYPO CORRECTION on USCIS website.

NOW... I dont know if I should make the change or not? if my marriage certificate has it, my COMBO AND GREEN CARDm should be hyphenated as well correct? I am afraid this will translate in future problems.... with any of my future credit cards, employment, etc.THIS IS all agravated because I need to travel to Mexico this month and I am afraid that if I make the correction on the website, this will mean I need to wait for the card to be reprinted/changed for who knows how long....and if I take the risk and go to mexico with my combo card as it is....would I have problems re/entering the country?

any one with similar experiences? I have ready many cases FROM older years here at VJ, but with NO CONCLUSION. any one with a suggestion? anything could help!

thank you again

Hello everybody!
I have a question!
the consulate is asking me to bring a police certificate or carta de No antecedentes penales to the consulate.
I live in CDMX and currently through Covid they are issuing this certificate online. Does anyone here knows if that s is the correct certificate?
In their website it says

c

Cuando sea solicitada por una embajada o consulado extranjero en M xico, o bien, a trav s de una embajada o consulado de M xico en el extranjero.

And my digital police certificate says

I am not sure if this is enough or if I need to try to get an in person police certificate.

Hoping someone can share some light :)

Thank you!
