Citizenship Civics Test Questions [merged threads]

I'm studying for the civics test using the booklet that they gave me at the biometrics center and the file from the USCIS website (the questions are the same on both). I noticed that there are questions that have multiple answers with bullet points but it's not clear to me for all of them, which ones would require me to list all the points in my answer and which ones are simply suggesting different forms of the answer. Here are some examples:

8. What did the Declaration of Independence do?

announced our independence (from Great Britain)

declared our independence (from Great Britain)

said that the United States is free (from Great Britain)

25. Why do some states have more Representatives than other states?

(because of) the state s population

(because) they have more people

(because) some states have more people

59. Who lived in America before the Europeans arrived?

American Indians

Native Americans

It seems to me that these are different correct versions of the answer and that I would only need to state one of them. For the following questions for example, I'm not sure if the bullet points also represent different versions of the correct answer and I only need to state one of them, or if I need to list all of them:

2. What does the Constitution do?

sets up the government

defines the government

protects basic rights of Americans

4. What is an amendment?

a change (to the Constitution)

an addition (to the Constitution)

12. What is the rule of law ?

Everyone must follow the law.

Leaders must obey the law.

Government must obey the law.

No one is above the law.

16. Who makes federal laws?

Congress

Senate and House (of Representatives)

(U.S. or national) legislature

37. What does the judicial branch do?

reviews laws

explains laws

resolves disputes (disagreements)

decides if a law goes against the Constitution

61. Why did the colonists fight the British?

because of high taxes (taxation without representation)

because the British army stayed in their houses (boarding, quartering)

because they didn t have self-government

DQ IR-1 case still waiting for an interview in Beirut since February, why the delay??

Hi there, I've had such bad luck with my supposedly straightforward case. Every step took much longer than necessary and now my case has been documentarily qualified since February, so nearly 6 months, and still no interview. My immigration case falls under IR-1 and I've been married for over a decade. I started the process back in August 2021. Has anyone else faced such delays? Is there anything I can do to expedite? Also I saw someone mention a Whatsapp group. I desperately need some information to know how long I should plan to stay here. Neither NVC nor the embassy have provided any sense of timeline.

N-400 Interview: Lost My Old Passport with US Visa on it

Hi. So my naturalization interview is scheduled for next month and I was preparing by gathering all required documents as per the interview notice but I cannot for the life of me find my old US passport that has the visa on it that I originally entered the US with. I have old black and white copies of every page from that passport on an external hard drive but I'm really worried that the officer will insist that I needed to bring the original. Has it been other people's experience that officers asked to see the original entry visa?

Note: I have another old passport that has the stamp of entry with the date and type of visa, but not the visa itself. I also do not have my I-94 because it was not stapled to my passport and fell out and got lost at some point, but that was not a hinderance to getting my green card because I had a copy of it.

Hi. For people who received their interview notice, about how long before the scheduled interview did you receive the notice? I am seeing that for people in my area (Los Angeles) people are having their interviews about 4 months after their biometrics, but I was wondering when they are receiving the notice for the interview, because this website does not record that. Thanks!

My mother-in-law has her IR5 interview Monday. We sent a digital copy to NVC but because my husband needed his original birth certificate for his own immigration progress we have the original, here in the U.S. Can we get a certified copy or can we send a digital copy of the original and get it translated again? Any advice?
