Should CR1 Evidence Include Relationship Proof from Before Divorce Was Finalized? |

Hi everyone, I have a question regarding the evidence to submit with our CR1 visa application. My husband and I started dating in May 2022, but at that time, he was still legally married to a foreign national and in the process of divorce proceedings. Their divorce was finalized in July 2023, and we got married in August 2024. The reason for the gap between the divorce and our marriage is that we were in a long-distance relationship during that time. Because of the distance, we don t have many photos and document together for 2023 only screenshots of our chat logs and calls. My question is: Should we include photos and documents that prove our relationship starting from May 2022 (when we started dating), or should we only include evidence from after the divorce was finalized? I want to ensure we re providing strong and honest evidence while being mindful of the timeline. Thank you for your advice!

Hi everyone, I m applying for a CR1 visa as the beneficiary, and I need some help regarding my travel history. I visited the U.S. back in 2003, but I don t remember the exact date. Unfortunately, I don t have the passport I used at the time, so I m unable to locate my I-94 (or I-93) record. I m currently trying to obtain my old passport number and arrival date from my home country s government office. Would having the passport number and arrival date be enough on CBP website to locate my I-93, even though my travel record is over 20 years old? Thank you in advance!

I and 20 years old daughter and 18 years old son applied for AOS at the same time. I received the letter about biometric schedule, but kids got RFE as follows Based on the documents submitted, we could not determine that the petitioning sponsor on Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, is qualified. In order to be a qualified sponsor, the petitioning sponsor's Form I-864 must be properly completed and signed, and the supporting documents must establish that the petitioning sponsor's income meets 125 percent of the federal poverty guideline for the sponsor s household size. See Form I-864P for information on the Federal Poverty Guidelines. My husband, U.S citizen is the sponsor and his income, bank account balance and my assets are more than enough for household of 4. I don t understand why I was ok and kids were not. I want to know what documents should my kids submit.

Will My Wife's Surname Name Change Affect The I-130 Application? |

Hello! Me and my partner of 10 years finally got married last week in Japan. We want to file the initial I-130 petition ASAP once we receive our marriage certificate from city hall. My question is, would our I-130 application be negatively affected if my wife updated her last name to my last name AFTER we had already submited the I-130? This would mean that her new last name and her new passport (which would reflect the new last name) would not be the same as the information/documents I uploaded to the USCIS website. I ask because if we waited to do everything in the "correct" order (i.e. name change, new passport application, send I-130 petition), this would set us back about two months. Thank you for your advice and insights. Eric

Hello everyone, I am a US citizen living in Canada with my Japanese partner. We are both here on Temporary work visas but plan to leave in a year or so. Could I file for a K-1 visa for my partner in Canada? Or would she have to wait in Japan for the Visa?
