I filed for one in the beginning of December from ICE And never heard anything back. I just sent an email a few days ago to follow up. Still nothing.

Hello, I know this is such an old post but I find myself in the same situation and I'm hoping you can provide some insight or tell your experience. How did it go with your request? Was there a way you rectified the communication issue with ICE? I hope they eventually gave you what you needed.

My husband sent a FOIA to ICE about 8 months ago by mail. We know it was received by the office but they never acknowledged or gave us a tracking number. I asked our lawyer if he could resend it by another means (electronically) but he advised against it saying a duplicate can cause problems and is instead just emailing them a lot. Don't know whether to listen to him or resend. I just can't help thinking they're not going to respond because our unopened packet is sitting under a pile of papers!

Putting child's case on hold at NVC because of pending documents

Hello everyone,

I am the beneficiary and my case has been DQ'D at NVC and I am waiting for interview at Mumbai Embassy. My daughter who is a step child of my husband, her case has been approved at USCIS, but we decided to put it on hold before applying at NVC as they're documents we are awaiting for her to be DQ'D. My question is will it be okay at the interview if I say that my daughter will be joining later on and that she lives with my parents here in India, while I will be travelling back and forth for her. I read somewhere that if the dependent's case is pending at uscis or nvc, the embassy refuses the visa stating that it'll approve once the child's case is approved. Does the embassy takes interviews together of parents and kids in CR1 category or is it separate? Thank you in advance.

F2A long distance relationship

Hi,

I am a PR based in Austin, Texas. I recently got married to an Indian Citizen. We filed the I-130 and now we re waiting.

Until recently, I thought it would be easy to bring my husband to USA since I ve seen many friends and family who have H1B visa bring their spouse in a very short time frame (few weeks to few months). I always thought it made sense that USCIS processes spouse based visas quickly - why would anyone keep a married couple apart!!

I assumed Permanent Residents would have the same sort of timeline to bring their spouses to USA, or even quicker since PR > H1B. Boy was I wrong. I can t believe I m looking at a 2-3 year timeline before I can bring my husband to USA.

Now, how am I supposed to navigate this situation?
1. My husband does not have ANY USA visa to even VISIT me - and now that his I130 is being processed, there is no way he s getting a visitor visa.
2. I need to keep working/living in usa so as to not lose my green card.

What does USCIS expect me to do?! Stay in usa for 3 years and visit my husband once in a while until his green card comes through? That seems inhumane even for USCIS s standards. And especially as a permanent resident I don t expect to have to deal with these timelines. Am I missing something? Someone please help me understand what s going on because the last thing I want is to be stuck in a long distance relationship for 3 years.
