I found this version of Packet 4 online. It indicates that a "notarized English translation" is required for a birth certificate if it's in any language other than English. I thought that generally, however, U.S. consulates only required a "certified" translation, and from what I've read on several VJ threads, any person fluent in both languages can provide a translation and include their own certification that it is complete and accurate. So my question is, does the Mumbai consulate require an actual notarized translation (which I would assume involves a notary?), or is a certified translation sufficient? It would be helpful to hear from people with experience at the Mumbai consulate in this regard. I'm not sure if I'm just over-interpreting the term "notarized English translation." Thanks in advance for any responses!

Last time I travelled to US in Jul 2019 I was out of US for more than 9 months. The CBP official had put a remark on the PP saying I was out of US for more than 6 months.
I came out of US in last week of Dec 2020 and may NOT be able to travel within the stipulated 6 months. Will this be an issue at POE again?

 Please advise!

Hi All, I am into a unique situation. I have applied for Citizenship (I have already met the residency requirement when I applied for citizenship) and after that I traveled to India. I have already stayed in India for 5 Months, and I have a return ticket in few days. However my personal commitments have not completed in India, for which I have to come back again in few months or stay in India for couple of months and then return to US.
I was thinking that If I stay in India for about 3 more months, like 8 months or so altogether (But strictly less than 1 year), and postpone the travel for 3 months to avoid unnecessary covid exposure while traveling. Also meanwhile the Covid wave in India settles down here and my elderly father and sister who are alone in India have my support, just in case there is any covid issue at my home in India.
         1) So my question is what are the consequences of staying for 8 Months outside India with regards to my next Port of Entry & CBP Interview ? 2) Secondly What about my citizenship application, would it be void, what would be the effect on my N400 status ? 3) 8 months will break the continuity of residency requirement for citizenship, but would I really need the continuity now as I already applied for N400 ? Please Help

Hello, My parents while waiting to get their I-485 interviews had to travel outside the USA to India for a family medical situation. Their AP document expires in October 2021. I am wondering given the current travel ban from India due to Covid they might not be able to return to the USA before the validity of Advance Parole document. What can be done to make sure they can return to the USA and the I-485 process continues? Can they file for a "renewal" of AP while they are still in India? Thanks
