Hello all and cheers. :) Hope everyone is safe and well.

We are at the NVC stage. We have been exhaustively trying to get a birth certificate corrected for my Indian husband who will be interviewing in Frankfurt, Germany. We are able to find his birth record on the Indian government website (it has his mother's name wrong, father's name is correct, it does not have his name at all). It was common in the 1980's for parents to not have decided the child's name at time of birth. His birth was registered though and it has the hospital name. I have a copy of this birth certificate with the registration number and all (it is authentic). We are trying to add his name now (35 years later) and trying to correct his mother's name. ----I have a feeling like this will go nowhere. We have contacted multiple individuals in authority (collectors, health inspectors, birth certificate issuing authorities in the region). We received a letter from the regional government that it has temporarily stopped correcting birth certificates and issuing name inclusion on the birth certificates until the central government (Government of India) says its ok to start those services.

I read the instruction on NVC website for unavailability of civil documents and it says- to include the unavailability of birth certificate letter at this time from the issuing government authority + notarized affidavit from parents or either one stating the birth details of the applicant. Thinking to also upload the incomplete birth certificate that we have at hand. ----all this to NVC.

Any suggestions, any advice, thoughts/opinions, comments are welcome. :) I am open ears.

**I am worried how this will go with CO during interview even if it goes through with the NVC with the explanation.

Thank you.

NVC chose the embassy for us in welcome letter after I-130 approval.

Hello, dear friends.

We had chosen Mumbai, India as our consulate for IR-1 interview on our I-130, however; when we got our welcome letter from NVC yesterday, they chose Frankfurt, Germany as our embassy. My husband is an Indian citizen but he has a valid visa in Germany till September 2021 (he will not be able to extend this visa after September 2021). At the time of I-130 completion, his current physical address was in Germany. Should I keep the Germany embassy? Are they already open to processing spousal visas? Can some friends who plan to interview or had interviewed in Germany give some insights as well. I am sure all embassies have backlogs because of the pandemic but I just don't know. Is Frankfurt a strict embassy? (we have nothing to hide but at the same time don't want to make things harder either). Thanks in advance, friends. May all the stars line up in your favor for a quick approval at all stages. :) Sending cheers.

Hello everyone!

Im here collecting some information for good friends of mine who are in a situation.

the situation is as follows:

the fianc entered the US via K1, and they got married within 90 days. The now spouse also performed a medical exam and passed.

they have a dual national child together now, and the spouse still has not filed for Adjustment due to career changes and monetary issues.

they have been in the US for longer than 1 year now without filing AOS.

Here s some questions they got:

if they leave the country, will the spouse be susceptible to a travel ban to return?

what steps are needed now to file for AOS? Would they have to file an I-130 now with an AOS, as the K1 is expired?

also what is their current legal status? I assume they are a overstay by law and deportable, but they asked a lawyer and he said that they are status pending .

thanks for any assistance!

Hello everyone!

So my fianc e had his second interview today, he said it went pretty well, and they even took his passport, the only thing they are waiting for now is the medical examination, and police certificate to get to them. Is that a good sign?

Hello everyone,

Me and my husband (USC) got married 3 week ago in the US. I left the US because of the wrong advise of a lawyer and now I'm starting to work as a freelancer back in Germany. My husband has helath insuance with blue cross and could add me to his plan (even without SSN). His plan also works abroad. But I do find mixed information about the fact that you need to have a valid status in the US to be able to get insurance (which kind of makes sense).

I am afraid to risk not being covered in case something happens. Does someoe have any kind of experience with that kind of situation?

Any help would be highly appreciated!
