Preparing affidavit of support

hi everyone, so thanks for the support here ;). We have submitted the I-130 form. So now I am preparing the next step of which from what I understand, the affidavit of support seems t be the most difficult for us.

Our situation:

- Family of 4., 2 adults, 2 children. "Alien Dad" and the other 3 are all US Citizen.

- We both have jobs abroad right now. But from what I know that doesn't count for the Affidavit of support / I864.

We will quit our jobs here. Our background makes it probably not too difficult to get a job in the US quickly though.

- We would theoretically have sufficient (readily available/convertible into cash) assets in order to file.

- We have the support from family (grandparents) who could support us getting enough income on the affidavit.

The goal:

We do intend to move there all together, which means we can't get provide US-income "upfront" before filing. We would like to try to not split up our family.

The questions:

- What would be the best way to do this?

* only use our assets?

* only our family?

* both combined?

- Are there any conditions on who formally owns the assets (1 spouse=alien, 1=USC)?

- Should We employ a lawyer to get this right?

- There are different versions of the affidavit of support. I-864, I-864A, I-864EZ. Which ones do we need for which scenario from above?

Thanks for all the help people here are providing!

Hi all,

thought I'd start a thread for us March 2021 filers! USCIS received my package on March 8th and I received text messages confirming receipt of my cases on April 4th. I have only received one paper copy so far for form I-131. Right now I am waiting on my biometrics appointment letter. Interested to hear where you all stand!

Hi all,

just received my first receipt notice for my AOS case in the mail. On here and on Reddit I see some people reference the Lawfully app. In anyone's experience, is the paid subscription worth it? How accurate are the timelines and case analyses? Thanks in advance!

I logged into the my USCIS account and i found this today. "We have mailed a Request for Evidence to you. This may extend your processing time beyond our original estimate." I am positive i sent every requirement on the documents requirement sheet. No letter has been sent or posted online and my estimated completion date has been extended. and on the documents page, it says it also says

Unsolicited evidence

Unsolicited evidence is any additional information or evidence that we did not request from you. If you upload evidence that we did not request from you, USCIS will consider the timeliness and relevance of this information when making a decision about your case.

Anybody has any experience with this ?

Naturalization (Spouse of Military member)

Hello,

I would like to apply for naturalization early (319b), because I will accompany my husband on an overseas assignment. We just got orders today, and will have to move in June.

Currently waiting for an interview appointment for the adjustment of status (which I will try to get expedited with the orders).

I am searching for others, who have been able to get their naturalization early and would like to share their experience. I would really appreciate your stories! I am from Germany, and have read that I need to get a document from a German authority in order to keep my German citizenship.

Any Germans here, who would like to share their experience with the process?

Thanks in advance for any replies!
