Hi I was in an accident and lost my green card on the way out from the US. After coming to myself I realised this and now need to get back in the US, so I need to apply for this boarding foil.

I'm currently in Denmark and ready to file the I-131A, but how long from paying the fee online to expect my appointment? I have found no place where anyone writes this and calling the embassy they cant give me an estimate either. On top of that its almost christmas so harder to actually estimate and go there...

F-1 Student ACA Enrollment: Impact on Future Immigration Status?

Hi everyone,

I'm seeking clarity on F-1 students' eligibility for ACA marketplace plans with subsidies on behalf of my close friend who is an F-1 student. According to healthcare.gov and CMS guidance, F-1 students are "lawfully present" and eligible for marketplace coverage and subsidies. However, some universities recommend against enrolling in subsidized ACA plans.

Specific questions:

  1. Can F-1 students legally enroll in subsidized ACA plans while maintaining valid status?
  2. Is accepting ACA subsidies considered a "public charge" that could affect future visa applications (H-1B, green card, etc.)?
  3. For those who have done this: Were there any issues with:
    • Tax filing requirements
    • Current F-1 status
    • Future visa/green card applications
  4. How can students satisfy university insurance requirements while potentially using more affordable ACA options?

Have any other F-1 students successfully enrolled in ACA plans? If so, what has your experience been like, especially regarding future immigration benefits?

I've found conflicting information online, with some sources incorrectly stating F-1 students are ineligible altogether. My friend wants to make sure enrolling won't cause problems for their future green card application.

Thank you for any guidance!

Hello folks!

I passed my citizenship interview this Tuesday. I applied under General provision ( 5 years rule) and I am happily married to the USC .My whole immigration process was okay so far ( totally clean background checks, no RFE ever etc ) .However, my oath ceremony is scheduled to be at the end of February next year. That means, under President Trump's administration. Since they will change many immigration laws, will my oath ceremony be affected by that ?

Thank you so much in advance.

K1 Fiance Visa. Relationship Proof

Hello.

I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I have been with my boyfriend for a year.
I am in EU and he is in NA. We have looked into immigration because we want to be together. We have decided to go for the K-1 Fiance Visa.

Now upon reading up on all the requirements we are suddenly realizing we might have a problem with some of the proof? Mainly pictures together.
We are just not phone / picture taking people. We have had 5 visits, with the next coming up in February. We are planning to file for the visa "now", like ASAP, when we have done enough research.

We have like 4 pictures together though. We never thought of needing proof of anything you know? When we are finally together we are not bringing out the phone. We are together and enjoying time. I think we have like 3-4 pictures together and then a few from Thanksgiving that his mother took of us all. But thats pretty much it?

Will we be okay? Do we need to fake our personalities to be together and suddenly become picture people? Help!

Edit: I do have a lot of webcam screenshots I guess. Because when we are apart, I become desperate and miss him so much. I think I have more pictures of him sleeping on webcam, then I have of him awake IRL xD

I-751 approved without interview.

I was worried about the I-751 since I have been told how important co-mingled finances are - we do not have that as in at all. There are several reasons for that but mostly because we are both over 50 with children in both countries so what is in US is his and what is in Denmark is mine. There is one exception and that is health insurance since I do not work.

I asked my husbands daughter, our neighbor and the chairman of the local water district - I am a member on the board - if they would be kind enough to write a letter to the USCIS and explain that we are indeed married and living together for better or worse. They did. I did not include any explanation as to why we do not share bank accounts etc, since I planned to explain that at the interview.

I have only had one issue with the extension letter for 48 months and that was arriving in Minneapolis, where some guy obviously had a bad day and send me off to be further interviewed without him even looking at the letter. I missed my connecting flight but was only asked if I had any meat with me.

When I received the RFE I assumed it to be about the "lack" of sharing but it was to inform me that I had not included an explanation as to why I filed 7 days late. I answered that I thought I just had to mail it before the card expired - I know now that it has to be "received" by them before that date. Actually it was there on the day my card expired but it took a week for them to process it.

On March 11th 2024 I send my reply to the RFE and today I checked to see if it was received. It was on the 15th, new card was ordered on the 19th and case was approved on the 20th. Guess I'm good for another 10 years - I will apply for citizenship at some point in the near future though.
