I know it might be different depending on the country but i figured i would ask. My fiance has been collecting legal documents birth certificates, police reports, divorce decree etc... Is it required for these legal documents to be notarized to be valid. Fiance lives in Cuba if that helps.

I received the notice from the NVC about transferring my petition. Is this the usual wording? |

This is what the letter says: "NVC will now forward the petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in Georgetown., Guyana. Please note that the transfer process can take several weeks. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate will contact your fianc (e)/spouse when they are ready to process his or her petition." Is this their usual wording? Or is the "can take several weeks" due to COVID? I've heard usually after you receive that it only takes a week and then you can schedule your interview. Also, I need to wait to be contacted to schedule my interview? That says my fianc will be contacted, but I thought I was the one that would be contacted.

Hello, I'm currently awaiting a NOA2 and assuming all goes well it would be an approval. I understand that at that point our case would be sent to the NVC and eventually make its way to the embassy. So my worry at the moment is that i would need to get my fiance from Cuba to Guyana for the actual interview at the embassy. The issue that Cuba has extremely limited flights which are basically 1 round-trip per week from the USA. There are a number of things that would not be in my favor like not knowing the actual date that will be available, not knowing if i will be able to book a flight for the date of the interview. So you can see how this can be a major issue if this was the case would i just need to keep getting the interview rescheduled until i could get a flight for my fiance from Cuba to Guyana?

Hello so a bit of context befor the question. I m the beneficiary, my fianc and I are applying for the K1 visa, when we started this process back in April 2020 she had a non related cannabis job, then at the end of 2020 she changed her job and now is working in the cannabis industry. Our case got approved in January 2021 and now is sitting at NVC. So the question would be: Would it be a problem, either at the interview or any other time, for our case the fact that she is working in that industry now? thanks for the feedback

Hello all, I know that once i receive the NOA2 I'm sure I will get instructions on what is needed from me to continue the process. I was just hoping folks who have already completed the process could provide some insight on what the next steps are after the NOA2 and what was their experience. I'm just nervous and anxious at the same time I have not seen my fiance in over a year like many people on the forum so just want to be as knowledgeable as possible so that I don't do something that might prolong the process even more. Thanks
