I am the American citizen, my wife is the petitioner. Our marriage started with genuine intentions but it looks like there is no disney ending for us and we are likely to file a no fault, irreconcilable differences divorce. Her two year green card expires at the end of this December and we had started preparing the 751 paperwork. However, with this potential divorce wrinkle, I want to get some feedback on whether to file jointly still as married or for her to file single with divorce pending. My understanding is we have two choices. Option 1 file joint i751 and start divorce. Send a waiver after divorce is finalized. Is this a messy process? Option 2 start divorce in immediately and file for waiver i751 as divorced. Would my wife need to send in proof of a pending or finalized divorce? I imagine we would not be able to obtain the finalized paperwork until after her expiration date. I still want to help her obtain her 10 year green card. Any advice would be appreciated.

Good evening, friends. I m feeling a bit frustrated because I haven t been able to make progress on my permanent residency process. I m married to a U.S. citizen, and we have two children; one of them already has American citizenship. The issue is that I created my USCIS account with an email that I never verified on Google, so I couldn t recover access, and all important emails were being sent there. We ve already tried contacting USCIS, but it s been difficult to get a response since we are in Mexico. I found the best solution: to add my case to a new USCIS account with a different email, but to do so, I need my case number. With this simple number, I can access all the information and track the status of my application. Does anyone know the fastest way to obtain my case number?

My fianc e came to the US earlier this year on a K1 visa. Sadly, she experienced a death in the family shortly after arriving, and we made the difficult decision that it was the best thing for her to return to her country to support her extended family during the difficult time, and to start the immigration process over again. We are now planning to get married abroad next month and then file for CR1. Were we supposed to do anything to cancel the K1 process when she left the US? I tried to figure this out at the time but couldn't get any straight answer, and there was so much going on I didn't have much time to dedicate to it. I just want to ensure now that we take care of anything that could complicate re-applying for CR1. Thank you.

Hello all, Thank you for these forums as they were of great help for me and my wife when she applied for her adjustment of status seven years ago. Since then she has become a US citizen, started her own business and employs about a dozen people. Also in that time, her brother and wife were able to come her via the humanitarian parole offered to Venezuelans in early 2023. Her brother is Colombian and our sister-in-law is Venezuelan. Now that the parole program is not going to be renewed we want make sure we understand all of our options. With TPS, from what I can understand, only my sister-in-law can apply as a Venezuelan but her husband does not qualify as a Colombian since TPS is based solely on nationality. However, I just now saw that there is a family reunification parole process available for Colombians. I don't know much about it but I was wondering if anyone has done that process. Also, my current understanding for siblings is a lottery process which is certainly backed up years if not decades, but Im wondering if in their case they could apply for the reunification while they wait for that lottery. I understand if that is not the case, but I want to make sure to exhaust every possible option. Thank you!
