Hi everyone, My mom, aunt, and sister recently went to get a tourist visa to come visit and my aunt and mom got a yes, but my sister was denied. She is a full time college student and is involved in a bunch of research projects in her university department. I don't get it. Is there anything I can do from here to have this changed or reconsidered in any way? Ive always been legal here and have done everything right. Thanks for any leads!

I applied for a tourist visa last year, before meeting my boyfriend in person. I did it because the consulates were closed due the Covid and my interview was scheduled for November 2022. Now, after making an adjustment on the DS 160, my interview changed to August 2022. After awhile, we decided to get married, but we didn't applied for the K1 because we don't know if filling the K1 could bring me issues on my tourist visa. I've worked for the federal government here for almost 20 years, my daughter is 16 yo and lives part time with me (half month), I'm divorced but I still have a mortgage to pay (my ex-husband and I bought a house together and my name is still in the paperwork)... Is there a possibility of the consulate deny my B2 because we applied for a K1?

Hello everyone! I arrived in the US one week ago. (IR1) We are waiting for my permanent resident card and SSN to arrive in the mail (the fee was paid 16 days before my arrival) I heard that it can take up to 90 days to be mailed to me, and I didn t want to wait that long to start working. Our question is: as the now stamped immigrant visa is valid as a proof of permanent residency for one year after arrival, can I go in person to a SS office and be able to get my SSN earlier by showing them my passport? Or do I need to wait for my physical GC to arrive? I appreciate your help! Thank you!

Hello another tax year, another tracking thread. We filed our 2021 taxes on the evening of March 9, 2022. I sent the state forms overnight to CA FTB on March 10, 2022, and i just got the refund posted to my checking account this past May 11, 2022. And on May 13, 2022, my wife's ITIN was received. Where's my refund still not finding our 1040.

i understand no one here knows for sure on any of this, but based on experience/stories you've seen/heard - how do you feel about the chances of getting a b2 visa if this is the information the interviewer will have: - purpose of visit: visiting boyfriend and meeting family and go to disneyland
- family ties to the US: none
- job: yes
- school: yes
- lease agreement: yes
- has been to the US before: no
- has been to other countries via visas and has not overstayed: yes
- does not need any sponsorship/affidavit for financial reasons, although will be staying at no cost at boyfriend's parent's house
- wants to visit for only 2 weeks
that pretty much covers it! something else to note: the person applying is a Brazilian citizen, applying at the Dublin, Ireland embassy (currently living there temporarily for school & work) any advice/thoughts on if you think this has a high/low chance of visa approval/denial?
